Chapter Eight
Extreemly sorry for this, because I've always hated these thing, but technical difficulties have occured. I'm having promblem with my AC adapter for my laptop, to the point that I'm being sent a complete new one. So, my battery is slowly dying (40% left) and it'll take however long for Dell to send me a new one. I'm just glad they didn't make me buy a new one, damn things cost $80. I probably won't be able to update till I get the adapter, cause I went cheap on the battery and the thing only holds about an hour charge (for example, it was 40%, like I said. now it's 37%). Sorry for the frustration.
So, I decided to just make this the next chapter instead of making an annoying AN in the middle of my story. They always completely throw me off when they do that. I also want to say Dell is awesome. I called them late afternoon about 5pm-ish, and my new AC adapter was here the next day. They also payed shipping for me to send the old onr back for repairs so I'll have a back-up one. Love them. And, without futher ado, I give you the next chapter of my saga. Sorry it's so short and wordy, but I hope you enjoy.

Chapter Eight
It had caused him a moment when he had found that little fact out last summer. He had found that some small part of him had still wanted to believe in the old man. He hadn’t really believed the cheerful old man to be capable of such manipulations that he would pass off one of his own relatives as Harry’s aunt and order her to break him. Before, when he believed that Petunia was his aunt, he had just believed Dumbles had encouraged the natural hatred of his relatives. Though, if Dudley and Vernon hadn’t known, their hatred was all too real. Walking away from it all, he felt a bit guilty for revealing Dudley’s magic. If Vernon actually hated it that much, then there was no telling what he would do to his son. He resolved to keep an eye on them and rescue Dudley if he needed it. He didn’t really deserve Harry’s help, but no-one deserved to be persecuted for something they were born with.
Harry made sure that Mrs. Fig couldn’t see him. He didn’t sense any of his watchers from the Order had shown up yet, so he used back yards to escape the notice of the cat-lady. When he reached the next block, if anyone had been looking, they would have been astounded to see him disappear.

Hermoine was nervous, she had gotten Harry’s message. What that old fool didn’t know, was that both Harry and Hermoine were master Occlumens’. Hermoine had made sure of it. She was glad of that fact when she organized that troll incident when they were in first year. Of course, she hadn’t let the troll in, that was Quirell of course, but she had quickly put into place her plan of having Ron and Harry “rescue” her so she could be grateful and seek out friendship. Harry hadn’t been too happy with her for a month because she hadn’t told him her plans first. Her basic knowledge had served her well too, the Headmaster had immediately called her to his office to give her some speech about how important the role of friendship to the Savior was, and that she should come and inform him if she felt he should know anything. Purely for Harry’s safety, of course.
During the entire conversation, she got her first taste of Dumbledore attempting to read her mind. She had made sure to not make eye contact, and her basic shields had worked. It had also helped that he hadn’t tried awful hard, believing her not to be too close to Harry yet. She had later found out, through Neville’s worrying, that Harry’s whole dorm was sent to spy on the poor boy, though she believed everyone but Ron was having their minds read without their knowledge or consent.
She had immediately taken Harry aside and informed him of this development. After that, they had both practiced Occlumency until they mastered it. Harry had even had the idea to even make a sort of dummy mind, that anyone trying to use Legilimency on them would run across and think they were successful. Harry’s had been tested extensively this last year when Professor Snape was “teaching” him.
They had gotten to the point where there was a link between their minds, because they practiced together too often. After a bit of embarrassment in the beginning, (she really did not want to remember stumbling into Harry’s mind when he was wanking. Even if it had been a delicious fantasy about Wood) they had gotten it to work only when they wanted it to. Harry had told her that the plan was on when she had hugged him goodbye at the platform today. The plan was one they made 4th year, when it was getting obvious that the Headmaster wasn’t at all concerned with Harry’s safety, seeing as how he let the whole Fourth Champion thing happen. It was their escape plan.
As soon as her parents got her in their car, she had found Adelrune, Harry’s snake, waiting for her with additional instructions, like they discussed. Harry always used Adelrune for his more secret correspondence. Opening the letter, she quickly said the spells to reveal its true message and read it:
’Mione,
Slight change of plans. We will still be going to the Marauders Retreat and become a
complete family, but I will no longer keep my image. It’s obviously not working, and I’m
just plain tired of it all. We also might be having a visitor, but I’ll wait to discuss it with
you, seeing as how I want to use Adelrune to send a message to this person. Take care of
her by the way. I’ve already spoken to mum and father by the way, they should be
heading towards the place as your reading this.
Can’t wait till I see you again,
Ry
PS- Stop worrying! It’ll work!
Looking up, she saw her mother gazing back at her with a warm smile. Here goes nothing.
