Falling apart

"DRACO!!" Pansy shrieked as she grabbed the paper, her eyes widening at the headline. "You…you didn't!!"

"Didn’t what?" Draco asked as he moved his gaze from Harry, who was handed the paper less then a moment after Draco's head was turned.

"Did…Did… THIS!!" Pansy shrieked, standing her full height as she literally tossed the whole paper at him. Draco grabbed the paper away from his face with a large growl and looked at it. Before long Draco went pale and looked horror stricken.

"Great job, Dragon... Harry won't forget this anytime soon." Nott, who had somehow returned back to his childish Emo self, said as his green eyes glinted up past the paper Draco was holding.

Draco, in turn, whipped the paper at Nott without ever reading the article, the glint of green causing him even more distress than he was already feeling. How is it that Nott, who wasn't related to Harry at all, looked SOO bloody much like him? Draco hated him for it..

"Smooth catch Nott. But you're forgetting that I-DIDN'T-DO-THIS!! I may be desperate and bullheaded, but i'm NOT that Bloody stupid!!!"

Nott grabbed the paper from his face and grinned back at Draco. Draco didn't know what was more annoying, Nott's chuckle or the amused shining of green...

"WHAT?!!" Draco snapped loudly at Nott as he continued to chuckle.

"Well, I was just thinking. Do you really think that matters to Him?" Nott said, pointing to the Gryffindor table.

Harry was beet red, furious and had just started tearing the Prophet to pieces. Before anyone could even speak to calm him down, Harry turned around and stormed out of the Great Hall. In his fury his magic lashed out wildly, subconsciously, flinging the dishes; plates, trays, cups and pitchers as he passed.

Ron and Neville ran after him while Luna rushed over from the Ravenclaw table to help Hermione start cleaning up the mess.

Draco's heart fell and he felt sick. 'Oh, Merlin' Draco thought. 'He thinks I did it.'

Draco jumped up from the Slytherin table, breaking his princely persona, dashed after Harry.

Pansy sighed and tossed her hands up as she and Millicent stood up. Giving one another knowing looks they followed after Draco, with Nott following after Millicent. When they got to the door though, they where stopped by a late arrival.

"WWWHHHHHHHHAAAAtttsss going on, you three?" Blaise asked while yawning, appearing to still be half asleep. "And what's all the fuss about?"

"Well…" Pansy started but was interrupted by Nott flinging the Daily Prophet into Blaise’s face.

"WHAT THE FUCK?!!!??!" Blaise boomed after stepping back and pulling the paper off of his face, now looking wide awake. Pansy and Millicent both glared angrily at Nott.

"What?!!" Nott said while faking an innocent look. "I didn't want to break tradition…"

Harry still wasn't talking to him. It had been nearly half a day, LUNCH, and Draco had been trying to get Harry to just talk to him, and he was failing miserably. Miserably being the key word.

Draco was used to Harry not looking him in the eye, and really, he didn't blame him. Harry must have been embarrassed from what they did. As a proper and pure Mate, Draco expected that. But this…this was too much.

Not ONLY was the Golden Boy NOT speaking to him… But now, he was being SHOWERED by GIFTS from men from all over the wizarding world.

Flowers, heart-shaped cards and cookies, boxes upon boxes of chocolates and sweets… and what was even WORSE were the GIRLS. That Romilida Bint and her group of gigging nitwits...

… They HUNG about him, FLIRTING with him.. Trying to tempt him with every move and pose...

Well, Draco would stop a stop to this!

Pulling his Veela powers together, Draco stood up from the slythrrin table, stormed over to the Gryffindor table, but stopping until he was right in front of Harry, and the bitches that where tossing themselves as him...

Pulling his Veela powers, Draco stood up from the Slytherin table, stormed over to the Gryffindor table, not stopping until he was right in front of Harry, and the bitches that where tossing themselves at him.

"WHAT IN THE BLOODY HELL IS GOING ON!!??!"

Harry, Ron and Hermione immediately turned. Neville, who was sitting on the opposite side, had already drawn his wand. The trio immediately saw why.

Draco looked insane; like the pissed off, Aura-Flaming Veela that he was.

Harry nearly jumped and hissed as he quickly looked away from the blonde’s eyes. Damn it, he could already feel his shields failing. That git was messing with his them again.

"Fan mail, Malfoy! He gets a lot of it, now bugger off!" Ron yelled, managing to be the bravest of the bunch.

"FAN MAIL?!! FAN MAIL!!?! Is that what you call THIS?!!" Draco said, storming over, grabbing and tossing the things on the table in front of them. "Chocolates, cards, scarves, cherry-creams… MORE cards."

"DRACO!!" Pansy shrieked as she ran over. Blaise and Millicent following with Nott trailing slowly behind.

"MALFOY, STOP THIS!" Hermione said, as she grabbed Harry's arm and went to pull him away from the raging Veela. No one seemed to have noticed that the group of younger girls had suddenly vanished.

Draco’s face suddenly snapped forward as he realized that Hermione was trying to drag him away.

"NO!" Draco screamed shrilly, grabbing onto Harry's other arm.

"LET GO OF HIM, GRANGER!! LET GO OF HIM IMMEDIATELY! OR I SWEAR TO GOD, I WILL TEAR YOU TO PIECES!"

"DRACO, LET GO OF HIM, NOW!!" Ron said, pulling out his wand as well, as Neville pointed his own wand at him, getting a braver and firmer look on his face.

"NO, I WON'T!! You're MY mate, Harry!! You belong to ME! You’re NOT supposed to accept any GIFTS from anyone else!!"

Harry growled and bit his lip, his magic starting to get out of control as raged filled him. He refused to look at Draco, because he knew if he did, the connection would be re-affirmed.

Because of this, Harry saw what Draco didn't. Seamus and Dean both drew their wands and had them pointed at Draco as well. Sloper and Kirke, the Beaters Harry picked out 6th year, following suit. Luna and Micheal, on the Gryffindor side of the Ravenclaw table, drew their wands as well with Justin doing the same.

"Harry, LOOK AT ME. Har..." Draco stopped his rant then, finally noticing all the wands pointed toward him. He continued to watch them with a wary eye as the Professors started running over to the table.

Draco growled at Harry as he reluctantly let his arm go. Harry seized the opportunity. He turned quickly, sparing only half a second to grab his school bag. As he fled the Great Hall he could feel his magic starting to spark. Knowing what could happen if it released, he continued trying to stop it from lashing out.

As he left the Great Hall, he swore he felt a surge and release of emotion. Harry was nearly positive that someone, most probably Draco, had hexed someone.

----------------------------------------------------------

Harry stormed through the black and white draped door of his and Draco's personal common room. His eyes angered, his mind reeling all over the place, with his emotions and magic flaring out of control.

All Harry could think was that it was HIS fault… Draco's!

Draco, who had kissed him and started this whole thing, Draco who had tried to make Harry his mate, Draco who had tried to re-affirm the connection between them… Draco who wouldn't leave him alone.

Draco had used his powers on him, AGAIN, made him lose control... and had said that Harry was HIS...

Wrong… Harry belonged to no one, no one except Ginny..

His Ginny, the girl he had lost.

Harry froze in the middle of the walking room, and looked to the floor as guilt and pain overwhelmed him. Draco's powers had knocked out his shields completely.

This wouldn't be happening if she were here. If Ginny were still alive, he would be living happily ever after.

They would be engaged and Draco would be forced to give up on him.

But she was gone. Ginny had died and everything good that would have happened with his life left with her.

Harry's body was suddenly weighted with pain and grief. He would never know anything like that again, nothing close to it… ever.

Ginny was his only shot at love, and he had been the cause of her death. He caused everything he loved, and even things he hated to die. Harry forced the tears and memories of the final battle back as he forced himself to admit the truth.

It was his curse.

The door opened up behind Harry. He spun around quick to see who it was, but he already knew. Harry tightened his jaw and looked away from him.

"Why do you keep doing that?..." Draco said in an annoyed and snappish tone. Harry had almost forgot that Draco could still feel his feelings.

"Doing what?..." Harry breathed back, not having the energy to argue, wanting to leave and get a good nights sleep before fighting with Draco again.

"Why do you keep looking away!??!!" Draco snapped. "You know don't you? That's how you can break the connection?"

"Yes, and I know." Harry said as he looked to his door, making a mental note to get in there quickly. The last time he and Draco were both in the living room was… well... odd.

"SO..." Draco said moving forward, looking at Harry. "That's it? You just plan to ignore me and hope I’ll go away? Toss me off like yesterday's trash?" Draco said maliciously. Harry turned to shoot Draco a look, and caught himself a few seconds in and looked away.

"I don't plan on being your Mate, Draco. I told you this and hinted more than once; leave me alone." Harry snapped at him.

"WHY?!! Tell me Harry, WHY?! Is it just me or is this because NO ONE can measure up to your shining, golden, dead ex-girlfriend??!!" Draco snapped. Fuck this, Harry decided he had just gone from not wanting to fight to wanting to fight. Harry's eyes snapped forward and he slung his school bag at Draco's gut.

It hit with a BOFFH and dropped to the floor. As Draco grabbed his mid-section, Harry then growled and jumped at Draco, knocking him over. He pinned him harshly to the floor, Draco's hands caught between their bodies and Harry kept him pinned under him, something deep inside of him wanted to prove that he had power over Draco.

"You… Will… NEVER… Say… That…. Name… AGAIN..."
