I Have Nothing

I don't really need to look very much further
I don't want to have to go where you don't follow
I won't hold it back again, this passion inside
Can't run from myself
There's nowhere to hide

Well, don't make me close one more door
I don't wanna hurt anymore
Stay in my arms if you dare
Or must I imagine you there
Don't walk away from me...
I have nothing, nothing, nothing
If I don't have you, you, you, you, you, you...

(Whitney Houston-I Have Nothing)

A very drunk Neville stumbled into Hermione’s flat. She woke to the sound of someone calling her name. “Hermione?” She grabbed her wand and headed out of her room.

“Harry?” she said slowly. She turned the corner and ran right into Neville. “Lumos.”

He held on to her so that he wouldn’t fall, but it was futile. He tipped back and she fell right on top of him. He laughed, giggled like a girl actually. She picked herself up. “Neville, what’re you doing here?”

“Herminne.” he slurred. “‘Arry, wanted me to do something. What was it?” he scratched his head. “Oh yeah.” He pointed at her, “Are you ok?” he said carefully.

She went to her kitchen to grab some sobering potion. “Here Neville. Drink this.”

He took a big gulp of the nasty tasting potion and all drunkenness was gone. “Merlin, I have a headache.”

“Serves you right! You’re a Healer. You should know better than to drink more than you can handle!” She scolded him.

“Sorry. Hermione. I won’t do it again.” Neville was afraid of her when she got angry. He saw what she could do. She could be down right frightening. “You’re ok?”

“Yes Neville. I’m fine. Just a bit knackered.” she stifled a yawn.

“You’ll come to me for your monthly appointments?” he raised a brow.

She shook her head in affirmation. “Don’t really have a choice, now do I?”

He chuckled, “No, I s’pose not.” He gave her a quick look over. “I’ll tell him you’re ok.”

“Thanks Nev.” She hugged him tightly. “You’re a really good friend.”

“Yeah I know.” He hugged her back.

“Cheeky bugger aren’t you?” She stepped away from him and bid him good night.

She went back to her room and finally slept, knowing that they all did care and that she wouldn’t have to carry this secret on her own.
