I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Ready and Set...
A/N: I am so very sorry about the delay in posting. Things have been really hectic lately. Yesterday was my last day at work, so today I had the chance to finally pound out this chapter. This chapter is a bit rough. I didn't have too much time to look it over. Please let me know what you think...
My husband and I are moving across the country tomorrow, so the next update may be just a bit of a wait, but I promise you that it is worth waiting for. The next chapter is slated to hold Sirius smut. I've already gotten bits and pieces of goodness written up. I shall post the chapter as soon as I get settled in. So I do believe it will be able to have it posted come Monday. Please have patience. :)
much love,

"Get up, get up, get up!" Ginny hissed as she shook Hermione's shoulders.
"Honestly, Ginny, it's still early..." Hermione moaned as she burried her head in the pillows.
"But it's today! Today's the big day, now get your lazy arse out of bed!"
Hermione sighed and began to pull herself from the bed, knowing that Ginny wouldn't give up anytime soon. She would probably go so far as to pull her from the bed herself if she didn't get moving soon. Rubbing her eyes Hermione looked at her wristwatch. Twenty minutes after eight. Okay, so it wasn't quite as early as she had thought.
"Ginny, what's the big deal that we have to be up so early. The wedding isn't until late afternoon," she couldn't help but ask.
Ginny grinned like the cat who caught the canary. "Oh, it's wonderful, Hermione. You've got to get all your things packed up and then we can go."
Hermione frowned as she was getting dressed. "Go where, Ginny?"
"Well, you couldn't have seriously thought that we'd let you get married here?!" Ginny said as she surveyed the dank surroundings. "Professor Dumbledore has managed to get us hooked up to the floo network for a brief amount of time to get us to where we need to be."
Hermione just nodded as she put the rest of her belongings away. "So, when do we have to be leaving?"
Ginny smiled softly. "In about 5-10 minutes."
"What? Why didn't get going any earlier?" she asked as she quickly got her things together.
"Well, we would have had plenty of time if someone didn't try to fight me about getting out of bed. I was about to turn you out of that bed myself. Now, do you have everything? Are your trunks all packed."
"Yes, I believe I'm ready," Hermione said as she minimized her two trunks and placed them in her pockets. "And do you have any idea just how much you sounded like your mum a minute ago?"
Ginny just gave Hermione a dirty look as she headed down stairs. Molly was waiting for them. She smiled nervously when she looked at Hermione. "Are you two ready? Albus is waiting for you to arrive so that he can close off the floo."
"We're ready, but why are we going so very early? Nothing's happening until this evening?" Hermione couldn't help but ask.
"This was the most convenient time, and it really does take some time to get everything ready. We're going to go ahead and get you all ready and then the men will be along later," Molly explained as she pulled the young woman toward the fireplace. She nodded at Ginny, who took a handfull of floo powder and shouted her destination before disappearing in green flames.
Hermione smiled brightly as she heard just where they were headed. Perhaps Ginny was right, there was hope that it wouldn't be a bad day afterall. She took her some floo powder and shouted her location before being engulfed in bright green flames. A few seconds later she stepped, grinning, out into the offices of Professor Dumbledore. She was barely out of the grate when Molly appeared behind her.
"I see you have all arived on time," said Dumbledore, rising from his desk.
Hermione smiled brightly. "We're having the wedding here?" she asked hopefully.
"Yes, the young Miss Weasley thought that it would please you greatly. And I see she was not wrong. You may utilize Gryffindor tower today as I am sure there is much to get ready," he told them. His eyes were absolutely shining.
"Thank you, Professor. It's so kind of you to allow us to do this here." Hermione was beaming. Her wedding may not be exactly perfect, but at least it would be somewhere that was like home to here. She couldn't think of anywhere she would want to be wed.
"Come along, dear. Let's get you upstairs and start getting ready," Mrs Weasley said as she and Ginny guided her out of the office.
"We've got hours. Just what is the rush?" Hermione asked as they walked along.
Ginny laughed lightly. "It takes longer than you think to make the perfect bride. Hair, makeup, nails... It all takes time and adds up."
Soon the three women were in one of the Gryffindor dorms. Hermione was trying to be patient as Molly and Ginny worked on her hair. Gods, they were right. This does take forever. Or at least that's certainly the way it seems.
~*~*~*~ Meanwhile, back at Grimmauld Place ~*~*~*~
Sirius, Remus, Ron, and Harry were sitting around the table in the kitchen. Harry grinned at his Godfather. He couldn't help but find the situation a bit amusing when you came right down to it.
"So Sirius, are you nervous," Remus asked.
Sirius looked up from his coffee and frowned. He was silent for a moment. "Yes, I suppose I am rather nervous. I never thought I'd be anything but a confirmed old bachelor enjoying women like fine wine. But now... It's all changed. I've been thinking and the idea of being married and having a family one day isn't bad at all. I suppose I just had to find the right woman. Or in this case someone found that woman for me."
Remus and Harry smiled. It would be good for him to have someone to love. Harry knew that when Sirius cared about someone he could be the most devoted man in the world. Ron just sat with his lips pursed and looked a little green. Whether it was from jealousy or actually feeling ill, no one knew.
"I'm just pleased that I am around to see the day when Sirius Black, marauder and playboy, finally settles down and does something productive with himself." Sirius shot Remus a dirty, although half-hearted look.
"I do think that she'll be good for you, Sirius. She has a real knack for bringing out the best in people. She can see the good in just about any situation..." Harry paused for a moment before asking, "So, just what are the plans after the wedding?"
"Albus has gotten it all figured out for us. He's found a place for us to stay for a while after the wedding. Says it's just what we'll need." Sirius smiled slightly before remembering something that had him wondering. "Oh, by the way, which one of you put the suit in my room last night. I'm glad that one of you thought of it, because I can say I wouldn't have."
The three men looked at him like he had grown an extra head.
He was met with, "I've no idea what you're talking about, Sirius." "No idea." and "Huh?"
Sirius went and brought the tuxedo downstairs, still neatly folded with the note pinned to the coat. "This suit," he said as he placed it on the table.
Harry and Ron took the note from it. Ron frowned and Harry laughed lightly, knowing quite well whom the handwriting belonged to.
"Looks like Ginny, and probably Hermione were up to something last night. That's Ginny's handwriting." Harry told his dumbfounded Godfather. Upon hearing this Remus couldn't help but chuckle a bit as well.
"What did Hermione have to do with it?"
"She transfigured the clothes. Ginny's underage yet, so Hermione had to do the magic."
Sirius couldn't help but smile. It seems as though today is going to be just perfect if they have their way about it.
Harry looked at his wrist watch. "Well, it looks like we should be getting ready to head out and get things under way," he said with a smile.
