Let the Bad Parts In
Chapter Nine: Draco's End of the Deal

It was only two weeks till Christmas and the holiday spirit seemed to be erupting all over the school. Mistletoe and Christmas streamers decorated the halls as red, white, and green candles floated above the heads of students and the suits of armor sang Christmas carols to them as they walked to class. Snow feel from the high ceiling in the Great Hall dusting the tops of the five huge Christmas trees that’s stood elegantly behind the teacher's table.

"You know Harry, I think those trees are the biggest one yet." Ron said during dinner as he shoveled some Shepherd's Pie into his mouth.

"Really? I think the ones in our third year were far bigger than these." Harry argued as he piled mash potatoes on to his golden plate.

"Actually Harry, I think Ron's right on this one." Hermione chimed in while she was looking over some potion's notes while chewing on a carrot stick.

"I could have sworn that they were bigger in our Third Year." Harry repeated.

"Think of about it Harry. How tall are you now compared to then. You were a little shrimp. Professor Flitwick probably seemed like a giant to you." She teased. Harry flung a small portion of his mashed potatoes at her which she quickly dodged and ended up hitting Ron's shoulder.

"Oh come on mate! That’s not cool!" whined Ron as he wiped them off his shoulder and then ate them.

"Ron that’s absolutely disgusting!" scolded Hermione. Ron just shrugged his shoulders and went back to eating his food.

Harry and Hermione just looked at each other and laughed. "So Hermione, are you going back home for the Holiday or are you spending it us?" asked Harry.

"I'm not entirely sure yet, Harry. What about you?"

Harry shoveled a spoon full of peas into his mouth and then swallowed. "Well I think I'm going to go back to Grimmauld Place and do some work there and then rather go to the Borrow and spend Christmas with Ron and everyone or see if they would like to have it at home since it’s a bit roomier. Why don't you join us Hermione? You know you're always welcome to come along. It won't be the same without you."

Hermione opened her mouth to find an excuse and when she was suddenly hit with a sense of guilt. She was turning her back on her friends, the friends that she had stuck by since they saved her from the Mountain Troll that Professor Quirrell let in during their First Year. Everything they fought for and were taught she was turning against. She was going to go down in history as the biggest Traitor to Harry Potter; the "Chosen One". She was going to betray the boy that was her best friend and had been there for her through everything.

And for what; Fame, glory, power?

Hermione's eye hardened as she reprimanded herself. She need to this. It was obvious that Harry was losing the war. Left and right members of the Order were leaving on missions and coming back in body bags. Family members were going missing and the Dark Mark was springing up all across England and Europe. When this war was over and Harry lost, there would be no life for her then. She would probably die during the battle, taught not to sink down to their level and use the Unforgivable Curses. And if she some how managed to survive that final battle, whenever it maybe, what did she have to look forward to: life of as someone's play thing to rape, torture, and eventually kill?

No. Hermione would never let someone hurt her like that. She would never sink down to that level of self pity and let some psychopath have his way with her just because she wanted to fight for "the greater good" and . If there was one thing Hermione had it was pride and she wasn't going to let anyone take that away from here.

"Hermione?" Harry called to her. "Hello? Hermione are you there?"

"Huh? Oh sorry Harry. I got lost in thought for second. What did you say?" she asked as she sent him a smile.

"I asked if you wanted to spend Christmas with us." Harry laughed. "Hermione you're spending too much time in the library if you ask me. It isn't healthy for you."

"Well um…I'm not sure if -" she started, praying that someone would come help her.

"Granger, McGonagall wants to see us both now." Came a voice from behind them. Hermione sighed with relief and reminded herself to thank Draco.

"Okay, hold on." She stood up and grabbed her bag and her books. She looked at Harry and smiled reassuringly. "I'll talk to you later, Harry." Then walked off with Malfoy, ignoring the stares from Ron and Harry.

Once they were farther down the hall and no one was around Draco slowed his pace for Hermione to catch up and walk besides him. "What does McGonagall need, Draco?" she asked them.

Draco looked up at the stair cases and saw a few students lingering, watching them. "How the bloody hell should I know Mudblood? All she said was to get you, go get our reports from our latest rounds and then go back to her office and see her. Do you need to ask so many questions? Merlin only knows how the Potty Head and the Weasel put up with you." He lashed out in his slow drawl as he quickened his pace so he was in front of her.

"Well excuse me, ferret, but I was just wondering what was going on. You should really work on removing that stick from you ass, Malfoy." She bit back as she folded her arms across her chest, playing along with him.

The entire way back to the Common Room was silent. Once they made it through door and it closed Hermione took off her shoulder bag and hung it on the back of the chair while losing her tie. "Do I really ask a lot of questions?" she asked as she tried to unbutton the cuffs on her sleeves.

Draco walked over to her and grabbed her arm and undid them for her and then rolled them up her arms. "What are you doing for Christmas?" he asked her as he undid her other cuff.

"Harry is offering me to spend Christmas with Ron and him and I really don't feel up to doing that. It’s a bit awkward you know? Its kinda like 'Hey guys I know you think we're best friends but secretly I'm plotting against you with Draco Malfoy and may even one day need to kill you? Could you pass the pumpkin juice please?' I don’t' think that would go over well."

"Well if you don't go with them what are you planning on doing then?" he asked, placing both his hands on either side of the chair, blocking her in.

"I don't know," she said wit a sigh, fidgeting with her rolled up sleeves. "Maybe go to my parent's house or stay here and study for N.E.W.T's. Why? Do you have a suggestion?"

"Well its time I complete my end of the deal right?" he asked. Hermione nodded in agreements, completely aware of his hand that snaking its way up her back to her neck. "And since there is a lot of work to be done I thought we shouldn't waste time and use the vacation to our advantage."

"Oh really?" Hermione taunted in a husky voice, wrapping her legs around Draco and slowly pulling him in towards her as he moved his head closer to her. "Now that sounds all well and good but what does you mother think about this, more importantly your father. I'm sure he will be THRILLED to have a Mudblood over for Holiday."

"Don't worry about my father. He'll be off on business." He whispered against her lips, smirking at the feel of Hermione's hands running up his chest, magically removing his vest.

"And when are you going to talk to your mother about this?" she purred, letting her fingers travel down his chest to play with the top of his pants.

"There's a meeting tonight, I'll work out everything then."

"Do you think everything will go well?" she asked in a low voice.

Draco ran his free hand along Hermione's waist and up to the side of her breast. She suddenly felt a slight chill and when she looked down her vest and tie were carelessly piled on the floor by the stairs and top buttons of her shirt were undone to reveal a nice amount of cleavage. "You're an amazing teacher. I don't see why things shouldn't go well. He'd at least like to see what you can do before he decides anything." He murmured to her.

The feeling of his breath on her neck sent chills down her spine. She let out a low moan when his lips finally connected with her neck. She moved her neck to give him more access to her skin and moaned as he bit her. As he assaulted her neck she quickly started to undo the buttons on his shirt. She finally undid the last button and pulled it down his arms. Draco let go of her for a split second to take off his shirt and then grabbed the front of her shirt and pulled making buttons fly across the room.

"Draco!" Hermione shrieked in alarm.

Draco grabbed the back of her neck and kissed her roughly. "Shut up." He said harshly against her lips.

Hermione moaned deeply into his mouth while trying to get her arms out of the sleeves. Once her arms were she shifted so she was now kneeling on top of the desk. Draco reached around her and unclasped her bra and throwing it to the side. He dipped his head down and took one of her nipples into his mouth, the played with the other one with his hand. Hermione arched her back and moaned loudly.

Suddenly there was a loud knock at the door. "Draco! Draco, are you there? Draco open up! Did you forget about tonight?!" called through the door, which was followed by more banging.

Draco growled in frustration into Hermione's chest and Hermione sighed in annoyance. "Maybe if we ignore her she'll go away." Mumbled Draco against her nipple and then continued to lick and suck on it.

Hermione bit her lip to keep from moaning aloud. "Draco, we can't just leave her out there." Hermione argued while she tried not to moan.

"Yes we can. She'll go away after awhile." Draco bit harder on her nipple, sending her back into ecstasy.

"Draco I know you're in there! Open up this instant!" squealed Pansy and then she started banging on the portrait.

Hermione grunted and grabbed Draco by the shoulders and lifted his head. "Stop, go get her she's gonna draw attention." Hermione whispered harshly.
Draco narrowed his eyes at her and kissed her violently. He kept one hand behind her head and let the other one explore in between her thighs. Hermione was about to stop him and tell him to let Pansy in when he pushed aside her underwear and thrusted two fingers inside her. She broke the kiss and threw her head back with a loud moan. He pushed in another finger and started to move them rapidly making her moan loader.

"Be quiet." He ordered against her lips as his fingers moved faster.

"Draco? Is that you in there? Open up! It's me! If you don't open up I'll get Snape to open up this damn door! Draco! Do you hear me?!?"

Pansy cries for attention fell upon deaf years as Draco kissed Hermione hungrily to swallow her screams of pleasure. Finally Hermione came on his hand moaning loudly into his mouth. Her nails were digging into his pale flesh and he winced at the feeling of his skin being ripped open. Hermione was breathing heavily and whined with he pulled his soaked fingers out of her. He wrapped his arms around her shaking torso and leaned his forehead against hers.

"I'll come see you when I get back from the meeting. Don't wait up for me. I don't know how long it will last." He explained to her, barely keeping himself under control.

He kissed her briefly then stepped back to help her off the desk. She picked up her ripped school shirt and quickly put it on, not bothering to button it up. She hurriedly gathered the rest of her clothing while Draco buttoned up his shirt.

"Catch!" he called out to her, hoping that Pansy's screaming would block out his voice, and throwing her his vest.

Hermione caught the article of clothing effortlessly and then rushed up the stairs to her room and shut the door just as she heard Pansy come marching in and yelling at Draco for making her wait. Hermione locked the door and dumped her clothes by the door. She walked over to bed and collapsed on it. She grabbed one of her pillows and wrapped her arms around it.

Millions of thoughts ran through her head as her grip tightened on the pillow. She was extremely confused with Draco. She saw Draco as that, Draco, not Malfoy or ferret (well maybe when he pissed her off). Draco was her friend, her companion. They were both helping each other achieve something great in their lives. She did trust him, to extent. She was still worried about whether or not he was going to hold up his end of the deal. But tonight he asked her to spend Christmas with him at his manor, for learning purposes of course. Hermione liked having Draco, her friend, in her life.

But what confused her even more was their sexual relationship. She couldn’t deny that there was a lot of sexual tension between them. It didn't look like they could have a decent conversation without attacking each other and tearing their clothes off. She thought that they were going to pretend that nothing have ever happened between them. Maybe she should have been a little more specific. Well this WAS the first time anything like this has really happened since that whole "incident" between them back when she was with Terry. But did that make it okay?

She felt that sometimes Draco actually cared about her in a romantic way. Granted he had never done anything romantic with her, ever. But it was more of the way he looked at her that was different. It was different from when he was looking at Pansy or flirting with another girl. She highly doubted that it was love. The thought of Draco falling in love with someone was laughable. And she knew it wasn’t in love with him. Hermione maybe a romantic but she wasn't stupid.

The thing that really bothered her was that even though a part of her felt like Draco was using her, the majority of her really couldn't give a damn.

With a frustrated sigh, Hermione snuggled her head into the pillow, letting her body and mind relax, and drifting off into a dreamless sleep.

===============================================================

"Hermione…" called a low and distant voice to her. "Hermione, wake up."

She didn't budge but willed the voice to go away. The voice called her again. It seemed louder and clearer than before. She could almost recognize the voice. Then she felt someone sit down next to her on the bed.

Hermione jumped up in alarm and threw her hands up in a defensive position and screaming, "Petrificus Totalis!"

When she heard a loud thump on the ground Hermione opened her eyes to see who her attacker was. She gasped when she saw the back of blonde head clad in black robes. Hermione jumped off the bed, forgetting that the shirt she fell asleep in was not button up. She flipped Draco over and removed the spell.

With a moan, Draco sat up and rubbed his head. "Remind me to never wake up again." He groaned while fixing his hair back again. "And you're shirt is open. Not that I mind the view or anything." He added with a smirk.

Hermione gasped and turned around quickly to button it up so her chest wasn't hanging out. "Sorry about the whole freezing you thing. You just startled me is all." She told him as she was finishing the buttons. "Are you okay?" she asked. She leaned closer to him and felt his forehead for any bumps or scraps.

Draco caught her hand before it could touch him though. "I’m fine, I just have a headache is all. It'll go away in a few minutes." He stood up and pulled her up with him. "And I have some good news." He sat took off his robe and threw it on the chair by her desk then laid down on her bed with his hands behind his head. Hermione crawled over his outstretched legs and curled up next to him, stifling a yawn. "You're lucky as the meeting went in your favor tonight. I showed the Dark Lord what you have taught me and he was extremely intrigued by you. He has decided to meet with you personally if you are deemed worthy by some of his close followers.

There is a ball that my family throws every Christmas. That will be your test. If you can fit in there and impress a few choice people then he will meet with you on New Year's Eve. He will then make his decision on whether or not you're worthy to wear his mark."

He rolled over so he was leaning one arm. He brushed back some of her hair and Hermione rolled over to look him in the eye, giving him a sleepy smile. She reached up and smoothed back few pieces of hair that had fallen in his eyes.

"Did I ever tell you that you smell good?" she asked with a tired grin and cloudy eyes.

Draco chuckled at her, still playing with one of her curls. "No you haven't, but thank you for letting me know that I don't stink."

"Your-" Hermione covered her mouth as she yawned. "Welcome."

"Would you like me to let you go back to sleep now?" he asked.

Hermione's eyes started to flutter shut. "You don't have to go if you don't want to." She turned her head to the side and snuggled her face into Draco's arm.

"So I'm supposed to just lay here while you go to sleep then?" he mused.

"If you want." She replied and quiet drowsy voice.

"You know, sometimes you make no sense at all."

Hermione yawned again. "I'm a girl, that’s why. It's our primal instinct to confuse and annoy you to wits end."

Draco bent down and gently kissed her temple. "Goodnight Hermione." he whispered to her.

"Goodnight Draco." She mumbled before darkness over took her.
