Chapter 10
After Sirius had contacted Albus saying they would take the other three teens for the summer the three decided to go out for dinner. They called down to the Kent’s house to see if they and Lex would like to join them. When they agreed it was decided that they would all meet at ‘Aaron’s’ which was the local pizza joint.

James smiled at Josh and Mary when en entered the pizza place they had decided to eat at that night. He couldn’t hold back the smile when a little three-year-old jumped out of her seat and ran to him. “Uncle James, you late.” She said as he scooped her up into his arms.
“Am I now? Well I’m sorry, your daddy didn’t tell me what time to be here so I thought this time would be ok.” He said as he carried the little girl back to the booth in the corner his friends occupied. He placed her in her high chair before turning and facing the two adults seated there. “Am I really all that late?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.
“You know how she gets. If she knows your coming you could show up five minutes early and you would still be late.” Mary said.
“Have you figured out a way to get rid of all those rocks yet?” Josh asked. He had been there when Lex had talked with James about them.
“Yep, thought I would just Accio the damn things.” He said so that only Mary and Josh could hear. The two had known about wizards and knew he was one.
“Mommy, Uncle James said a bad word.” Sammy said in an accusing tone.
“Yes he did what should we do to him for it?” Mary asked looking at her daughter.
“He should be gounded and not be let to go to work.” Sammy said liking the idea of her favorite uncle having to stay home with her.
James laughed at this idea. “Is that so? Well then who would make sure your daddy built the part of the school right?” James asked. He never did hear the answer as at that moment he heard a voice from the past.

“Hey Aaron, you mind if we push a couple of tables together?” Sirius asked when hesaw the owner of the place.
“Go ahead, who else is coming?” Aaron asked. He figured it was probably the Kents, but liked to know for sure.
“Jonathon, Martha, Clark, and Lex” Remus said. He knew Aaron wouldn’t mind that group as they hardly ever caused problems.
“Sure thing just put em back when you’re done.” Aaron said knowing the others would even if he hadn’t asked. “So Harry when are you going to come work for me?” He had been trying to get Harry to work for him since the kid had moved here. He thought having him around would be good for business.
“He won’t be able to as he won’t have time with school and everything else the kid has going on.” Sirius said. They had already agreed that Harry would not be working while in high school and he would decide if he wanted to during college.

Josh noticed the look on James’s face change when the person began talking. Deciding to try and find out the reason for this he looked at the people who had just entered the restaurant. To say he was shocked would have been an understatement.
James had shown him many pictures from his time in school. He had seen pictures of Remus and Sirius when they were younger and had he not known they were dead he would have thought they were standing in the restaurant pushing the tables together. The thing that really shocked him though was the teen they had with them. The boy looked just like James without the gray hairs. Granted James didn’t have a lot of gray.
“Uncle James, he looks just like you.” Sammy said when she saw Harry. That got the other three’s attention.
James slowly turned to look at the people who had just entered, and about passed out when he found himself looking into his wife’s eyes and his own face.

Harry couldn’t believe what he was seeing; there was no way his father could be here. His father was dead. He was startled from his thoughts when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked into the worried eyes of Clark and smiled.
“I said your name about five times, what’s wrong?” Clark asked now that he had Harry’s attention.
Harry was still unable to talk so he looked at Remus and Sirius to see if they had seen what he had. Judging by how they were talking to Martha and Jonathon they hadn’t. He turned back to his boyfriend and said, “Do you see that man over there?” He was glad to see the man was still looking in their direction.
Clark and Lex both looked where Harry had told them to and Clark was shocked to see an exact, but older, replica of his boyfriend.
“That’s James Evans, the architect working on the High School.” Lex said, letting the others know who the man was.
“Could it just be a coincidence?” Clark asked, he could see the recognition in the man’s eyes and how pale he was.

Josh saw his friend pale and knew he had recognized these people. “James, is that them?” He asked hoping to get his attention.
“Can’t be, they’re dead. That bastard killed them. He killed all of them, I have finally lost it.” James said figuring he was seeing things. He had wished forever that there was a way to bring the people he loved back, and it just seemed cruel for him to be seeing them, knowing he couldn’t bring them back.
He was snapped from his thoughts when he heard the teen yell, “Sirius!”
88888888888888888888888888888
Harry decided to see what Sirius thought of all this so turned to his godfather and started trying to get his attention. When Sirius just kept ignoring him and talking to Jonathon he finally lost all patience. “Sirius!” He yelled hoping that would get the man’s attention. He noticed how his “Father Look-Alike” turned to look at them too.
“What Harry?” Sirius asked wondering what was so important that Harry would interrupt him. Harry usually waited till he was finished.
“Look at that man over there.” Harry said motioning toward James. Sirius and Remus both turned and paled at what they saw.
8888888888888888888888888888
James couldn’t turn away when he saw the others looking at him. He was fighting back the tears wanting nothing more than to run from this place. Wanting to hide from the phantoms of his past, a past he was trying so hard to forget. He couldn’t do that especially after he heard the next word out of Sirius’s mouth.
“Prongs?” Sirius asked staring at his long lost best friend, praying this was real. He wanted nothing more than for James to be real and for Harry to have a chance to know his dad.
James could hardly hear what Sirius had said, but knew this had to be a dream. He had fallen asleep in his office and was dreaming his best friends were there and his son was with them.
“Padfoot?” He asked taking a chance that this was real. Looking at Remus he added, “Moony?” Seeing the two men nod he was out of his seat in an instant. When he felt himself being crushed in a hug from Sirius he knew he wasn’t dreaming.
“What happened to you? Why did you leave?” Remus asked when it was his turn to hug James. They didn’t see Harry run from the building or Clark take off after him, but Sirius did and didn’t wait to tell his friend where he was going as he left to catch his godson. Jonathon and Martha exchanged worried looks as to what this would do to Harry.
88888888888888888888888888888
Harry heard Remus’s question and knew his father left because he blamed Harry for hismother\'s death. It was his fault too, if she would have just let Voldemort have him then they would have both been alive and could have had another child.
With that though he ran from the restaurant, but he didn’t make it far as he was soon caught by Clark. He turned and cried into the chest of his boyfriend and held onto him for dear life. He was shocked when he felt himself being moved into another set of arms, but relaxed when he recognized what smelled like the cologne Sirius wore. He knew it was Sirius who had him, and let him know what he was thinking.
8888888888888888888888888888
James looked up when he released his friend and instantly began looking for the teen who looked like he could be his son. Looking at Remus he asked “Was that Harry? Where is he?” He couldn’t keep the hope out of his voice. His son might be alive, he may still have part of his family.
Remus looked around and was shocked to not see Harry. It was then he heard Martha speak.
“He just ran out of here. Clark and Sirius went after him.” She knew this was confusing for Harry and that he blamed himself for this parent’s deaths.
“Maybe we should wait until Sirius brings him back.” Remus said, not sure if James should try to go after them just yet. That idea didn’t go over very well.
“No, I have been away from my son long enough, and if I ever get my hands on Fudge he will see why you never mess with the Potter family.” He knew Fudge was the reason he had lost his son. He didn’t even give anyone the chance to stop him as he stormed out of the building.
He could see Sirius and Harry a little ways down the street and headed over toward them. He never expected what he was going to hear.
“It was my fault he left. It is my fault she is gone. He didn’t want to kill her, he only wanted me dead. She stood in his way to protect me when she should have just handed me over to him.” James couldn’t listen to this anymore and pulled his son from his friend’s arms.
“Harry look at me.” He said when his son didn’t look up. His heart almost broke when he saw tears falling from the green eyes. “Your mother did what any parent would have. She protected what was most precious to her. She protected what was most precious to me. It is Fudge’s fault I left. I woke up in a muggle hospital in town and he was there. He told me that you and your mother had been killed and that Remus and Sirius had been murdered also. I think my heart broke that day, my child and wife as well as my two best friends had been taken leaving me alone. Instead of staying and trying to put my life back together I took the cowards way out and ran from everything that would have caused the pain of remembering. Had I stayed I would have known you were alive and that Sirius and Remus were to, but I didn’t, and it is all my and Fudge’s fault. Never yours.” He said as he pulled his son close. He then cried when he felt the arms close around him and felt Harry’s tears make his shirt wet.
