Chapter Nine:

Harry’s green eyes locked with Loki’s dark blue ones.

Her eyes were open wide with wonder as he moved within her.

The moment he had entered her, she was astounded by how well he fit her and then she thought- so this was what had been missing. It did hurt for a moment, bringing tears to her eyes but he had pressed his lips over both her eyelids, kissing the pain away, replacing it with a kind of ferocious intensity and delicious friction, that made the golden ball of fire nestled deep below her belly glow brighter and hotter.

She brushed a lock of black hair away from his forehead as he leaned down to claim her mouth once again. She parted her lips willingly, making soft whimpers of encouragement in her throat. She spread her fingers over his back, caressing gently, making him moan.

Suddenly, as he thrust in, he hit a spot inside her that she did not know was there. It sent the ball of fire inside her exploding, sending sparks down every nerve in her. She tore her mouth away from his, arching upwards, crying out at the sensations taking over her body.

Harry felt her muscles clamp down over him and he shuddered as his own orgasm rushed through him. He moaned her name over and over again until it became a chant.

He slid of her, rolling to the side, panting for breath. “Merlin, Loki,” he breathed.

“What?” she turned her head to look at him.

“You are amazing,” he declared.

“You’re not too bad yourself,” she laughed.

He was suddenly aware that they were both naked without a stitch of clothing on, lying on his roof. He scrambled to his feet and began pulling on his clothes. “Put your clothes on, or you’ll freeze to death!” he urged her. “Do you have any idea how late it is?”

“I’m too tired to move,” she sighed.

Harry scowled at her. “Hurry up!”

“Make me,” she taunted cheekily, flashing him a teasing smile.

He pulled up his zipper and glared at her. “I will,” he said with a devilish grin that sent shivers down her body right to the very tips of her toes.

He scooped her up into his arms, along with her clothes as she squealed in surprise.

He raced back into the house with a naked Loki in his arms, squirming and giggling madly.

When they reached his bedroom, he set her down. She met his eyes and found herself at a loss for words.

He was equally speechless, staring into her eyes.

She stood on the points of her toes and let her lips cover his in a gentle kiss. When his hands came up to cup her shoulders, his touch was gentle; pulling her towards her with a kind of urgency that had her kissing him deeper.

Her fingers found the buttons of his shirt. “Harry, you shouldn’t have put this on,” she breathed into his mouth.

“Why?” he murmured, breaking the kiss and pressing his forehead to hers, cradling her head in his hands.

“I’m just going to take it off again anyway,” she said as the last button came undone with a soft pop. He shrugged off the shirt, letting fall in a messy heap at his feet.

“Harry,” she said, a lump lodged in her throat as she looked at him.

“I know,” he whispered.

She kissed him again, sucking on his bottom lip gently and heard him whimper softly. Their hips collided with each others, matching perfectly as they stood entwined seamlessly, every part of their body touching, their lips moving in coordinated harmony and when she opened her eyes, she found that he was staring right back, with the same kind of wonder and desire written all over them.

Hermione’s blood ran cold at the photo on the Daily Prophet. In the picture, she was hugging Draco, a blissful little smile on her face.

The headline screamed: Hermione Granger- The Third Party?

It was a nightmare come true.

She felt her knees go weak under her weight, collapsing into a chair. She let the paper fall to the floor, ducking her head so her curls fell to cover her face like curtains and she hoped that they were enough to shield her from the rest of the world.

She was still for five minutes and then as abruptly as she had collapsed, she stood up. She stepped into her fireplace and called out Harry’s name.

She steadied herself before she could fall and stepped out. The house seemed as though it was still asleep.

For Merlin’s sake it was already ten in the morning! She shook her head, trying to find her friend.

She pushed open his bedroom door, shouting his name and after poking her head in, she screamed and shut the door. “Jesus, Harry Potter! Put on your clothes!” she hollered.

There was a yelp and a sound of someone falling onto the ground. A female voice laughed and there was mad dash for clothes.

Harry, red faced and dressed opened the door. “Hermione, what are you doing?” He asked.

“I think I know why,” The woman behind Harry held up the Daily Prophet. “Am I right?”

“Yes,” Hermione nodded. “And you are?”

“This is Loki MacKenzie, you’re supposed to meet her at three today,” Harry said sheepishly.

Hermione’s jaw dropped open. “Harry! I told you a goodnight kiss, not whatever- oh my God- I don’t even want to go there!”

“I’m sorry,” Harry mumbled.

“Harry, can Ms. Granger and I have a talk? You can go make us breakfast,” Loki said sweetly.

“Ms. Granger, I’m Loki MacKenzie, reporter,” Loki said professionally.

“Hermione Granger,” Hermione shook her hand. “I can answer your question now- Draco’s favorite ice-cream flavor is strawberry.”

Strawberry, Loki felt a smile take over her face. “Hermione, please tell me everything about you and Draco.”

Hermione hesitated.

“Treat me as Harry’s new girlfriend instead of the reporter,” Loki said.

“Draco,” Hermione began. “Was and still is everything to me.”

“Yes?” Loki encouraged.

“It’s a pretty long story actually.” Hermione faltered and tried to organize all her memories in her head. “We became a couple two years ago, right after graduation. But we fell in love a long time ago,” Hermione smiled. “I hated him back in Hogwarts, God, he was such a prat, but by the end of fourth year, I knew he was damn handsome prat. He gets on my nerves sometimes but most of the time, I want to pull him into my arms and stay that way forever. I just love him so much, I can’t bring myself to accept the fact that he isn’t mine anymore.”

Loki nodded her understanding.

“I know everything about him, how he eats ice-cream straight from the tub, how he goes crazy if you tickle him, how he hums when he’s shaving, how he looks when he just wakes up, how he likes his coffee, I can tell you the most intimate things about him and the list could never end. I can tell you what brand of toothpaste he uses, the brand of cologne, the brand of shampoo he uses, even how he puts on his clothes in the morning- boxers first, green if it’s a special day he says, then shirt, pants, socks then robes. I can recognize the sound of his footsteps and I can map out his entire body in my mind. I know he wants to have three children with me, take me to twelve different places for our honeymoon,” Hermione choked back tears and she realized that Loki’s eyes were brimming as well.

She took a shaky breath and continued. “I love him, Loki, so much that now he’s not mine anymore, I have this hole in my heart. We fit, Loki,” she met the other woman’s eyes, trying to make her understand. “We fit so perfectly it’s as though when we were made, we were made to fit each other”

Loki frowned. “What do you mean?”

“We are two halves of a whole. Our hands fit, our mouths and when he presses his body against mine it’s like a piece of puzzle falling into place. He’s the biggest piece of me and he’s missing. That’s what hurts so much.”

“Oh, Hermione,” Loki whispered. “I’m sorry.”

“I’m sorry too,” Hermione closed her eyes, letting two tears slide down her cheeks. “Loki, I was with him yesterday. I told him to go away but he didn’t want to, I told him this would happen but he didn’t care and I would be a fool to push him away when I need him so much.”

“I will help you, I promise,” Loki took her hand, “I will do my best.”

“Thank you, but can your best bring Draco back?” Hermione whispered.

Loki blinked back tears. “I don’t know if I’m good enough but you are. Your best will bring him back,” she told Hermione.
