Chapter 10: Power shift
I watched in horror as Shawn crumpled to the ground at the top stairs. I turned to Severus, who had his wand coolly pointed at the place where Shawn once stood. \"Why did you have to do that? We could have talked to him, explained the situation...\"
\"If he heard us out side of the door, than he wouldn\'t want to hear us out. More than anything he\'s probably incredibly frightened.\" Severus said putting his wand away. \"He\'s better off knowing nothing of what we said or who we actually are.\"
I started up the stairs and gathered Shawn\'s limp form in my arms. \"About how much did you erase from his memory?\" I asked still frowning down at him. I can honestly say using magic on Shawn was the least thing I ever wanted to do, and I still believe we could have attempted talking before erasing part of his memory. Call me protective, I suppose.
\"Just what happened today.\" He shrugged. \"So relax. And trust me when I say, it\'s better if he doesn\'t know. If he comes a cross a death eater he doesn\'t know who you actually are- they won\'t torture him for answers. Just tell him he hit his head-- He\'ll never know the difference.\"
I hate it when he\'s right. I really do. But I make no mention of my opinion, carrying Shawn off to his bedroom. Only a day was forgotten, I guess that\'s not too terrible. I laid him down on his large bed, running my fingers down his arm. \"Sorry Shawn, it is better this way. You\'ll wake up in an hour.\"

Draco didn\'t see why his father could ever be so protective over some stupid muggle. He may not want to kill them, but he doesn\'t have to like them. While Severus joined Lucius upstairs, the Malfoy heir decided to have a bit of a stroll around the house. There were alot of pictures everywhere of people, magazine covers, and cars with his father\'s muggle in front of them. He had to admit, Shawn was quite attractive. His father did always have good taste in his lovers. They were either highly intelligent like Severus, or possessed great beauty like Shawn. He wasn\'t too sure if \'lover\' was the title to give him, but that wasn\'t the question to ask.
He walked down a hallway and into a small bedroom with a few pieces of antique furniture. There was a little jewelry box sitting on the top of the dresser housing some of Shawn\'s favorite pairs of earrings. Draco opened the top of it, pulling out the long strand of sparkling beads, sequins and crosses that looked like it hung all the way from his ear to mid chest. The earring wasn\'t too heavy, so it didn\'t look like it would do any permanent damage to a normal earlobe. Draco idly wondered if Shawn had a wife, but looking around at some of the pictures of his father\'s keeper, the earrings had to solely belong to him and him alone. He put the pieces of jewelry back in, pulling out one of the many pairs of heart shaped sunglasses that Shawn happened to have in his possession.
\"What a silly thing to have.\" Draco muttered but put them on anyway. They didn\'t look too bad after all. He glanced back to the pictures on the wall again, taking out the ponytail band from his medium length hair and shaking it out. Though as silly as they were, they didn\'t look too bad. He walked over to the closet, opening it up to find some of the zebra print costumes shown in the picture.
Draco had a natural curiosity about him, which his father always seemed to be on him about- but he couldn\'t help it. He just wanted to touch everything and see if he\'d like to have it for his own. You don\'t know if you don\'t try. And he didn\'t know if he liked the chaps and oddly diamond cut matching shirt- he had to try them out, you see.
---
\"Shawn please! You need to rest! You hit your head pretty hard this morning!\" I said chasing after Shawn down the stairs, Severus was on my heels with his wand drawn.
\"You said your son\'s here, I want to meet him!\" He grinned back to me. \"See if he\'s as insane as you are.\"
\"I could always erase his memory for the day again , and we can start this off for a third time.\" Severus suggested. \"It wouldn\'t be any trouble.\"
\"You put that away!\" I hissed quietly. \"We\'re going to deal with this with out magic, Severus.\"
\"You really should have told me you had a son, I would have tried to get a hold of him to let him know you were okay. He was probably worried sick about you.\"
\"He goes to boarding school- it\'s very difficult to get a hold of him.\" True, of course. I wouldn\'t outwardly lie to Shawn. Certain feelings prevent me from doing that.
Shawn shrugged to me, going off down the hallway. \"Well I guess I can understand that. What\'s his name?\"
I turned the corner after him, keeping space between him and Severus. I knew he wouldn\'t hurt Shawn, but after erasing his memory with out even asking me first, I can\'t really trust him at the moment. \"Draco- he turns 17 soon.\"
\"Lucius and Draco- like father like son so far.\" Shawn laughed and stopped in front of his wardrobe room. \"Well um... maybe not.\"
I looked into the doorway at my red faced son in a zebra print and heart shaped sunglasses. \"Draco! Get out of that right now! What\'s the matter with you?!\"
\"No, Lucius- It\'s okay. He\'s got good taste.\" Shawn grinned and shook his head. \"But I think the red one with the mirrors would have been a better a choice for you.\"
\"I.. I liked that one too.\"
\"Do you like professional wrestling, Draco?\"
\"I-I\'ve never seen it before.\"
And before I could even get a word in, Shawn had left with Draco toward the living room. I was shocked to say the least. For one, Shawn is one person I\'d like to make in to my lover. Secondly, Draco hates muggles to no end. He must have been very embarrassed to follow Shawn like he did with out giving any type of comment. Thirdly, not only does he hate muggles, but he hates my lovers too- With the exception of Severus. Maybe because he\'s been around since the day Draco was born, maybe it\'s his intelligence, his power... Either way, I love him. He is one of two that could ever give me a command that I wouldn\'t scoff at. \"I... I had no control there. I couldn\'t get a word in.\"
\"I noticed. I think it\'s a good thing, Lucius. You might have met your match in your keeper.\"
\"No, I call the shots. He listens to me.\"
Severus gave me an amused look, putting his away. \"Of course. Perhaps you should go after them before Draco does something to Shawn worse than my memory charm.\"
