Chapter 10 - Confrontation

They\'ve clipped my wings again
Tore them apart and then
Left me
No use to fly away to
My yesterday
Of freedom
My eyes died back that day
Seeing the hurt I may have done
Beat me instead of them
Pain is my only zen
Of fun
I\'ll go where secrets are sold
Where roses unfold
I\'ll sleep as time goes by

Blood on my hands to stay strong
The flowers in the graveyard are all gone I don\'t belong
There is no right to heal the wrong

“What am I doing? She’s a mudblood! Why does she make me react like I am? What would my father say? He wouldn’t say, he would beat. I have to stay away from her. Soon we will be out of Hogwarts and I can get as far away from her as I can. I don’t want that though. I want to be near her. And that is my problem right there. I don’t know what to do. Staying away from her seems like the best idea. Ah well.” Draco ended his ranting and looked over. His owl, Medwin, had fallen asleep some time during his fight with himself. “Well that’s rather insulting.”

“Hermione? Could we talk to you?” Harry stood in front of her, Ron a little bit behind him.
Hermione looked up and without speaking nodded. They sat and watched each other for a few minuets. “Hermione, were sorry that we jumped down your throat about detention. It was very horrid of us. You don’t get mad when we are out late, unless we don’t have our homework done. But we didn’t extend the same courtesy to you.” Harry’s apology seemed only from him though. Ron was glaring and rolling his eyes the entire time.
“It’s alright guys. Like I said before, Parkinson left detention early and Snape punished us for it. That was all.” She felt horrible about lying to them, but what would they say if she said “sorry guys, I was sleeping with the enemy.” That was one conversation she didn’t want to have.
“Ok good. Thank goodness. We have Quidditch…twenty minuets ago. So we’ll see you tonight! Bye Hermione!” She waved goodbye at the boys and went back to her book.

Back in her room before dinner that night she was putting away her laundry. While moving things into her closet she thought she saw something moving. Looking again, she saw nothing, assuming it was just her robe moving a bit.

Dinner was a very interesting gathering. All the Quidditch players were still pumped from practice and Hermione and Ginny were swooning over the newest Witch Weekly calendar. Things were only tense between Hermione and Ron, and then only slightly. “Ron? Come with me please.” Hermione stood up and walked out of the Hall. Slightly puzzled Ron followed her.
“What’s up Hermione?” She turned towards him.
“Ron, I wanted to talk to you about how you treated me last night. You dragged me around like I was nothing. You hurt my wrist you were holding on so tightly. I won’t ever have you touching me like that again. I am a woman Ron, and until you think of me as such I don’t want you near me. Is that understood?” She didn’t wait for an answer, just walked back into the hall. Ron stood there, watching her go. Whirling around he stormed off, steam practically coming out of his ears.

That night they both dreamt again.
They couldn\'t hear anything but a thick static noise. Hermione\'s mouth filled with the taste of cold metal. Only beautiful, cold, white marble was in their view. It looked like it was from those expensive restaurants where there was someone who handed you soup and perfume. Just like the last dream.
Suddenly out of nowhere a small pool of red liquid fell and landed on the marble with a splash. They couldn\'t tell where it came from.
Two human arms came into view, both slashed at the same part. One pale, the other tan. Out of the slash blood dripped, down onto the white marble.
The view backed up some and two bodies come into view. A man and a woman, both dressed in night clothing. Slowly their hands grasped and the cuts seemed to glow against the white of the floor.
