Chapter 10
Lucius was the first to come back to reality, feeling the water cooling their bodies. He pulled Harry to him again and out of the shower. He wrapped him in a warmed towel and another around Harry’s longer hair. It had grown again. Quickly donning his own towel, Lucius led them back to the bedroom, not surprised to see a house elf had already cleaned the room. Lucius picked up the brush and comb and climbed up on the bed, pulling Harry to sit in front of him again.
“Harry, your hair has grown so long as your father predicted. I’ll help you with it.” Lucius began to gently part the hair into sections, making it more manageable. He took his time running the comb and his finger through the tresses, enjoying the silky feel of the hair. Harry sat still and let the man do as he wanted, he was feeling pampered and appreciating it. What seemed like hours later, Lucius was done tending the now wavy black hair. He could just barely see red highlights in it and wasn’t surprised since he had read the book too. He was actually looking forward to the changes. Through his own concentration, a feeling broke through and he realized Harry had been stroking the legs that were wrapped around him. Lucius inhaled deeply, and brought himself closer to Harry’s back, leaning in and moving the hair away from his ear. “Harry, as much as I would like us to stay here and fuck each other senseless, we have things to do. Wait until tonight. It won’t be long now. Now let’s get dressed and see how mad we’ve made the Headmaster by making him wait so long. I’m sure he’s had reports of you missing classes today.” Harry sighed and turned his face to Lucius, bringing their lips together in a searing kiss. “Sure I can’t change your mind?” Lucius was oh so tempted, but he knew what had to be done. “I’m sure you can’t right now. Later is a whole different topic. Now scoot. We need to get busy.”
Lucius pushed them off the bed and went to get his clothes. He froze when he heard the chuckle behind him. “What’s funny Mr. Potter?” as he turned around. Harry stood there laughing. “Lucius, it just occurred to me, I have nothing to wear to Albus’ office or anywhere else. I only have what I came in with last night, unless you want me to wear the towel.” “Harry, dear, has it escaped you again, that you are an extremely powerful wizard? Ever hear of transfiguration? Here, let me get out some of my robes and things and see what we can do.” Lucius began pulling clothes out of his closet, tossing them to the young man. “There, we should find something in there.” Both men looked at the pile and smirked. Harry hadn’t even seen that many clothes if they compiled all the seventh grade Gryffindor girl’s together. “I’d be hard to satisfy if I can’t Lucius and we don’t have that problem do we?” Harry wiggled his eyebrows drawing Lucius attention to them. He gasped and went to Harry. He brought his hand up against Harry’s face and with a gentle finger, outlined the now severely arched eyebrow. “Harry, have you looked in the mirror lately?” The Gryffindor felt a moment of panic before being led over to the full-length mirror. Lucius used his hands to bring Harry’s hair forward for him to see the length, now down to his lower back and then his hand went to trace the arched eyebrow again. “Beautiful, love, beautiful.” Lucius appreciated the fine things in life and Harry was the finest he knew. Harry was torn between the changes he saw and the memories of the “old” Harry. It would take some getting used to but he would manage.
Harry looked back to the pile of clothes and sighed. He had never been interested in his clothes before, as long as he was covered he didn’t care. Now, he wanted to impress Lucius and have others take notice. He walked over to the stack and glanced over them, running a hand over the smooth silk of the clothes. “Silk Lucius?” Lucius joined him wrapping an arm around him, “Only the softest and best. We deserve it.” Lucius pulled out a pair of boxers in the darkest blue Harry had ever seen and offered them to Harry, who took them and stepped into them. Next came the choice of shirts. Harry was tempted to co-ordinate with his boxers. Lucius held up a dark blue against Harry with the matching trousers and looked for a minute before laying them aside. He picked up a deep amethyst set and discarded it. He finally picked up a deep emerald and placed it against Harry. It had been one of Lucius’ favorites, but seeing it against Harry, he knew who it suited best. He helped his lover into them, noticing the fit wasn’t too far off. Harry had filled out some more over night again. Lucius retrieved his wand and uttered the spell to mold the clothes to Harry, to move with him.
Lucius choose the dark topaz shirt with black trousers and vest for himself. Once he was dressed, he flicked his hair back and secured it with a black leather strip. He turned to Harry who was standing there staring. “Damn Lucius, I only want to stay in now and take those clothes off you.” Lucius smirked at his young lover. “Later love, I promise, but for now lets beard the lion in his den. And Harry, language, please, there’s a time and place for it.” He held out his hand, felt Harry’s grasp and they headed to the Headmaster’s office.
The gargoyle stood sentinel at the moving staircase. Lucius uttered the password and the gargoyle moved, allowing them entrance to the steps. They rode up in silence, holding onto each other. When they arrived at the top, they stepped off together and Lucius placed a comforting kiss on Harry’s lips. Before he could knock, the door was opened and Albus, Minerva, Severus and Draco stood awaiting them. Harry grabbed Lucius’ hand and held on tightly while being led in. Albus spoke first, directing them to the small sofa in front of his desk and offering tea and biscuits. They both accepted, finally remembering they had missed a few meals. As they nibbled and drank the others stood quietly. Lucius looked at Albus first. “Headmaster, we would ,,” before he could continue, Albus cut him off. “Now Lucius, Harry, I know what has been going on.” Harry choked on his biscuit, Lucius patted his back gently. “Let me rephrase that, I know of the changes Harry is experiencing, not all of them, but most. I am willing to give all the assistance allowed by law and in any other way possible also. Is there something specific you need at the moment?”
The lovers looked at each other and back to the headmaster. Harry spoke up first. “Well, Sir, I would like all my things brought out of the tower to Lucius’ rooms. I also believe we would like you to perform a handfasting ceremony tonight at sundown. We know the time is short to arrange it, but the only people that are missing at this minute would be Ron and Hermione and I’m not sure how they would react in either case. I think I should invite them to clear my conscience but the decision is theirs. Lucius? Did I forget anything?” Lucius looked at the young man. He hadn’t even thought that Harry was sure what they wanted to do or if he had given it some thought. He was surprised to find himself caught short. Lucius smiled at Harry and raised his hand to his lips. “You’ve surprised me again Mr. Potter. We will need to get the rings for the ceremony, the robes and we should probably invite the Minister of Magic just to keep them from nay saying the rights of marriage. We should also invite 2 members of the press, between them they may get the facts correct. We will also need to ask the house elves for help for a small reception afterwards.”
Lucius looked at the Headmaster and the others. “Severus would you stand with me?” His long time friend looked at him and smiled, scaring Harry who hadn’t seem him with a true smile before, even after their association and friendship developed. Severus smile became a smirk as he looked closer at the two sitting so close together. Oh they were in for a surprise and he would wait to tell them.
Harry looked around the room, stood and went to the window, opening it and whistling for Hedwig. She came flying through the window and perched on his shoulder, eyeing him with some curiosity before she started grooming his long hair. Harry walked back to Albus and asked for a piece of paper and penned a quick note to Ron and Hermione. He was fairly sure of the answer so while Hedwig delivered the note he turned to Draco. “Draco, would you do me the honor of standing with me this evening as my witness?” Draco was floored by the request but quickly recovered his Malfoy aplomb. “If you are sure that’s what you want Harry, I would be honored to.” Harry sat back down and shouldered Lucius who returned the gesture.
Hedwig came back and took the awaiting treat from Harry as he removed the note. Holding his breath, he unrolled the note and began reading to himself. He schooled his face to keep all emotions hidden from sight, but he couldn’t keep them hidden from Lucius, who looked over to read the note at the same time. The cold expression covered his face and he crumpled the letter and set it on fire. “Never again, Harry, never again.”
The others looked at them and faces fell as the words implications became clear. Harry looked at Draco. “Draco, stop. You were my first choice as witness, not either of them. In fact, I only asked them to attend, not to be my witness. You and I are about to become family in every sense of the word. We have a foundation to start on. The one I had with them has always been unstable, this is just the last stone to fall out of place.” Harry took a deep breath before beginning again. “Lucius, we don’t have a lot of time to waste. Why don’t you pick out our rings, let Draco go with me to Madame Malkins and I’ll pick out my robes and he can pick out a few for you and have them waiting for you to make the final selection. Professor McGonagall, would you coordinate with the house elves for me? I’ll let them know what I want and you and Professor Dumbledore can arrange the where and how much. Severus, would you please see to some non poisonous flowers for us? You do have a flair for them that you hide from everyone. We can do this in time.”
Albus cleared his throat. “Gentlemen, I have only a couple of questions before we arrange the ceremony. Have you thought of your own vows, do you want to use the traditional vows or just wing it? Do you have certain color bindings you want or will the basics work? What about your candles? Harry, I realize this is new for you, considering you have never witnessed one before. Talk it over and let me know so I will know how to prepare for the ceremony.”
Lucius and Harry looked at each other. Harry smiled and whispered to Lucius. “Any ideas? I saw my parents’ vows in the book and think I would like to do our own. What do you want? And the bindings? Can Draco explain them in the robe store and where do I get them?” Lucius placed a finger against Harry’s lips. “Shhh, here’s what we will do. You and I will go to the robe shop, discuss the bindings, pick them up while in Diagon Alley, along with the candles. I know which rings I want so Draco can pick them up for us and we will talk to the house elves before we leave here. Just a few minor adjustments and things will be fine.” He replaced his finger with his lips, bringing gasps from Minerva; the action didn’t bother Severus, Draco and Albus.
Lucius broke the kiss and called for the house elf, “Dobby”. Dobby appeared and looked suspiciously at Lucius and Draco, smiling when he saw Harry. “Mr. Lucius called for Dobby sir?” Lucius looked at the elf and then to Harry. “Harry, you talk to Dobby, he still doesn’t trust me after the last episode years ago.”
Harry smiled at Lucius and leaned over to kiss him. The little elf’s ears perked up and his eyes bulged. “Mr. Harry sir, what are you doing?” Harry broke the kiss and smiled at Dobby. “It’s alright Dobby. Lucius and I are going to be handfasted tonight and we want you to help prepare the food for our reception. It won’t be too big but I have a few special requests for it. Do you think you can handle it for me?” The little elf nodded his head, “For Harry Potter, we can do almost anything. Just give Dobby the list.” Harry picked up a piece of parchment and quill and began writing. He finished it and gave it to Dobby who looked it over and smiled and bobbed his head. Before he could leave, Albus requested he stay for a few minutes.
Lucius stood and went to Draco to whisper what he needed his son to do. Draco nodded his head and went to the fireplace and took out some floo powder and called out Malfoy Manor and stepped through. Minerva waited to talk to Dobby and Severus walked over to the soon to be newlyweds and patted them both on the shoulders before turning, laughing and walking away to find the flowers. Lucius and Harry left the office and headed out the doors to walk to the apparition point and headed for Diagon Alley.
