Chapter 1: Scheming and Plotting

Chapter 1: Scheming and Plotting

Mostly Canon compliant until Chapter 38 of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  In the final duel at the ministry Harry duels with both Bellatrix and Voldemort for several minutes taunting both until Dumbledore arrives with the Aurors.

Slytherin Fifth Year Girls Dorm, Mid-June, 1996

In the 5th year Slytherin Dormitories, a pair of witches were discussing a wizard who had been looking very sad this morning.  Daphne Greengrass; a pureblood witch, heiress of the Noble and Ancient House of Greengrass, with long blond hair and a petite body with a full chest. She sat on a bed with her best friend and lover, Tracey Davis; another pureblood witch, heiress of the Noble House of Davis, with mid length brown hair and a not so full chest.  They were discussing one Mr. Harry Potter, who unbeknownst to him was the Heir of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Potter, and unknown to all also the heir of the Noble and Most Ancient Houses of Black and Slytherin.

They were wondering why the boy looked so sad despite the fact that all his friends returned safely to Hogwarts from their ill-fated excursion to the Ministry, where rumor had it he had dueled with Bellatrix Lestrange and her master, the Dark Lord Voldemort.  They had even heard that Sirius Black had fallen in the battle though they believed like much of Britain, that Black was a Death Eater.

The two witches, both pureblood and brought up to believe that they must marry a wizard to ensure the continuation of that wizard’s line.  However, these particular witches were in love with each other, an emotion not allowed of good, well-mannered, and well-behaved pureblood witches.

Their solution was to find a wizard with 2 titles and convince that wizard to marry both of them, since polygamy was legal in the wizarding world.  However, no wizard they had yet encountered met their requirements:

  1. Lord or Heir of two houses, at the lowest status Noble and Ancient Houses, if not Noble and Most Ancient Houses, or a combination of the two.
  2. Attractive to both parties, and kind, not cruel; meaning a Light wizard or a Grey wizard.
  3. Lastly Adventurous, and willing to take friends with them. (They both wanted to explore the world)
  4. A bonus point would be if the Lord was willing to name one of Daphne’s Sons with the surname Greengrass, since her father only had two daughters.  This would go a long way in convincing her father of the rightness of her choice.

Unfortunately for the girls they had not yet found their Mr. Right, who would be their shared Prince.

Greengrass Hall, Late June, 1996

“Daphne did you hear the news?” exclaimed an excited Tracey Davis, as she climbed out of the Greengrass fireplace.

“No, what is it that? Asked Daphne.

“Harry Potter, has been named as Sirius Black’s Heir.”

“So he’ll be Lord Potter and Lord Black then, eh Trace?”

“Yes, apparently Black was Potter’s Sworn Godfather, which means he couldn’t have betrayed Potter’s parents.”

“The vows of Godfather would have prevented him from harming Potter.”

“Yes, also Malfoy’s doubly pissed apparently he thought he’d be inheriting the Black Lordship, and his ‘betrothed’ Pansy is apparently already betrothed.”

“What? But how did she, or her parents not know?”

“I don’t know, but apparently it’s an old betrothal, and sealed until the lord of that house take up his Head Ring.”

“Let’s find Potter and convince him to marry us.” Finished Daphne.
