Prologue
At seven, Harry was still young enough to not fully understand most of what was going on, but astute enough to 'get' a big event was approaching. He knew it involved him, but not what all was involved. After school let out for the summer, he knew his aunt and uncle had many private talks when Dudley wasn't around and would glance at him while they spoke. While he tried not to look like he was paying attention or eavesdropping, he couldn't help it. There was a bad feeling in his gut over what this could mean.
As the summer stretched on and the start of the school year was approaching, those talks started to involve Dudley. Again, he tried not to eavesdrop and get in trouble, but that feeling was still there, nagging him greatly the way it did when something bad was happening at school he needed to avoid because it would cause trouble. This time was worse, though, far worse.The month school started his whole world changed in a way he could never have imaged. A man name Tyler Tucker showed up at the house. Harry didn't like him on sight and the bad feeling was there, worse than normal. When Tyler showed up, Harry learned how much his life would change.Vernon had a new job, one which paid far better, but they were moving. Because they wanted to start over without the baggage of having a freak nephew in tow, he was being sent away to the United States to a Magical school in the south Bronx. While he was stunned to learn he was a Wizard and could do magic, something which explained the strange bits that happened with him, his stomach sank at being sent off where he knew no one. It was worse than that, though.On the day he was to leave, Vernon and Petunia signed the papers for not only school and other bits, such as a transfer of something or other from his parents estate, Harry Potter ceased to exist. They were changing his name so no one could ever trace him by it. He wasn't sure why this was, but it happened.After gathering his meager belongings, Harry was whisked away by Tyler. The second he was Apparated away from the front step of Privet Drive that late night, Harry Potter ceased to exist and his name was erased from the Hogwarts rolls. Harry was gone, forever. A child name Hank Evan Patterson took his place. And what was counted on for so long was now in the bin.All Albus' plans had just backfired.
