A Promising Dinner
Violet Young danced as the wind wound around her blowing blooms into her hair. She giggled as the sun kissed her freckled cheeks after falling and rolling in the soft green grass. Her eyes lit up when she heard the dinner bell ring, quickly she grabbed her soft purple dress in her hands and ran for the small cottage. Her father waited by the door, she could see the look of mirth on his face as he inspected her wild attire.
Sigh, “What are we going to do with you my pet?” His gaze drawn to the grass marks on the new dress and the tangles in her newly brushed hair. “Was it the faeries again? How do they seem to always know when you are out playing? Have they kissed you again, I see more freckles!” Violet giggled as her father swept her up in his arms and tickled her.“Papa it was the faeries, and I would have said no but they wanted to celebrate my birthday and you always tell me not to be rude.” Violet smiled up at her father she loved how he watched her, took every word seriously his brown eyes staring deeply into her violet ones.Mr. Young placed Violet back on the floor, “Well the faeries will hear it from your mum, we are to have company tonight and you look the part of a pixie!”Violets eyes went to the floor as she remembered she was to meet some boy who was to be her sweetheart till she got old enough to wed. She knew her mother would be upset she had worked so hard on the dress but surely the boy would understand they weren't that far apart in age, he was only 5 years older. When Mrs. Young saw the state her daughter was in she just bit her words back, they would do no good Gellert was sure to be there any second for dinner. A knock at the front door let Mrs. Young know the time had come for her daughter to try to make a better life for herself.(Gellert POV)The tiny cottage sat at the end of a small cobblestone path that started outside of his estates gate. He eyed the crumbling stone as he stood and ran the bell as he slide on his heartwarming smile. A clearly under fed man answered the door clearly nervous to have anyone of note enter his “home”. Gellert repressed the growing revoltion as Mr. Young reached out a hand in an effort to shake his. When Mr. Young realized there would not be a hand shake he asked for Gellert's coat.“Good evening Mr. Young I trust all is well?” how he dispised chatting with this man, his gardener. He paid no heed to the words tumbling out of the older mans mouth and made his way to the kitchen. The state of the place really was enough to send him back home. He could tell they had tried but his eyes were drawn to the corners filled with dust and grimy cloth. He barely registered the woman, his eyes were glued to the young girl sitting at the table. He was captivated by the pink and purple blooms strung about in her hair, how everything she wore pulled his attention to her eyes. He inhaled deeply she smelled of roses and cherries.... and something he couldn't quite place. He sat down at the table as the first course was set down and they were left alone. Ah, She smells of magic!!!Gellert watched as she took small dainty bites, his hunger for this union soared. She would be his, he could feel waves of magic coming off of her. Dinner seemed to go by to fast and he looked for a reason to stay.“Have you ever gone out at night?” He whispered in her ear, delighting in the goosebumps that dotted her skin.“No sir my mother and father say it can be dangerous at night.” Her big eyes looked into his icey blue ones.“I will protect you, come I think you'd like to see this.” He took her hand and led her outside to a hill and smiled as she gasped at the site of the fireflies that danced over the field of flowers. Gellert held her in his arms when he saw her shiver. “Say you'll be mine Violet. I can make everything you want happen. There will be sacrifice but I will open up the world to you.” He knew she would say yes he had played it perfectly, he could see her eyes were filled with the promise of sweet things and romance.“Yes, Gellert I will be yours,” she missed seeing his smile turn into a smirk as she laid her head against his chest and watched as the fireflies danced. He lead her back to her house and kissed her chastely on the lips. As he turned to leave a tawny owl landed on a barrel close to him. Gellert looked at the letter and smiled, he would be seeing her again on school breaks.(Violet POV)Oh how wrong she was! Gellert was a dream, he seemed to come out of one of her story books! She hoped he had not heard her heart hammering when he was near her. She almost felt lost when he left, hoping beyond hope she wasn't dreaming, that boy wanted her! She stayed like that watching him leave until she felt a brush against her hand. An owl! It had a letter with her name on it!HOGWARTS SCHOOLOF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY
