Lucky?

I don't want this to be completely pointless smut, so there will be an inkling of a story...but nothing major, so keep reading!

Ginny Weasley held the vial up in the sunlight and marveled at the golden liquid inside - liquid luck! She felt luckier just holding it.

"Hello Ginny, whatcha got there?" Luna Lovegood's slight blonde head appeared distorted through the glass of the vial, and Ginny lowered it to beam at her friend.

"Felix Felicis, liquid luck," Ginny lowered her gaze back down to the vial in her palm as Luna leaned in to examine it. When Luna gasped, Ginny continued, "Professor Slughorn gave it as a prize to the student with the most complete potion in the class. My potion was nowhere near done, but not nearly as horrid as most, so I won." She closed her fingers over the tiny bottle and smiled at Luna.

"Wow," Luna breathed, "what are you going to use it for?"

Ginny hesitated, she hadn't even thought of it yet. She turned the vial over a few times, then stowed it in the pocket of her robes. "I'm not sure, I only just got it from Slughorn a few minutes ago."

"Hmm, if I had it, I'd use it to capture a Crumple-horned Snorkack."

Ginny tried not to snort. She had no intention of using it to capture an imaginary creature. Luna was entirely loveable, but incredibly strange. She nodded noncommittally and glanced toward the castle, "it's almost time for Defense Against the Dark Arts, want to walk with me?"

"Oh! Y-yes thanks," Luna seemed surprised at first, then drew herself up and fell into step alongside Ginny. They walked in silence for a while, then Luna commented in a dreamy voice, "actually, if I were you, I'd take the potion right now and just see what happens."

She didn't answer right away, but the more she thought about it, the more of a good idea it seemed to Ginny. She paused outside the DADA classroom and drew the vial out of her pocket. Luna stopped and watched her curiously. "I guess I might as well, not like I can use it for Quidditch or exams anyway." With that, she threw it back, gulped it down, and looked back at a very excited looking Luna.

"Do you feel luckier?" asked Luna eagerly.

Ginny flexed her hands and shook her head slightly, "I'm not sure...I feel...fine, actually." She threw the door open and headed into potions with Luna at her heels.
