Better Late then Never

“Now Rosie, if you’re not in Gryffindor, I’ll disinherit you” Rosie snorted and began to laugh “Yeah right”.
“Come on Ron, don’t make her anymore nervous than she is” said Ginny.
“I’m not nervous Auntie Ginny. In fact I’m looking forward to go” said Rosie Weasley.
“Thank Merlin you have your mothers brains and ambition. You’ll probably end up in Slytherin anyway”.
“Look who’s talking Mr. Ronald Loyal Gryffindor Weasley, you fell for one” said Harry.
Ron gave a smile “Yeah I did, and I had the greatest and most beautiful child on the planet” said Ron as he hugged his daughter.

“Take care; write to me as much as you can”. Rosie let go and she looked at his aunt and uncle who were hugging Albus.
“Daddy I want you to promise me something” Ron nodded “Of course anything.”
Rosie inhaled and exhaled; “Start dating again. I’m off to Hogwarts so now you have no excuse.”
Ron looked down “Rosie, we’ve been through this”.
“No dad, you have no excuse. When I come back next summer, after I have finished my first year, I expect you to at least be in the early stages of a relationship.”
Ron shook his head “I can’t Rosie. I love your…”
Rosie interrupted “Mum’s dead, dad. I know you guys loved each other so much but that doesn’t mean you have to stop having a life because she left us.”
Ron nodded “Yeah, you right sweetheart. I’ll try hard.” Rosie hugged her father “Thanks dad, I love you.”
“I love you too.” Rosie kissed her father one more time and along with her cousin Albus began to walk to the Hogwarts Express.
As soon as the train began to move, Ron began to feel drained, his heart began to hurt and the tears were pouring down. Ginny looked at her brother’s face and too began to cry that her youngest son has left for Hogwarts, but what brought on her tears was that her brother, one of the greatest men she will ever know, was alone. Ginny immediately hugged her brother; “You’re not alone Ron. You’ll never be alone” said Ginny.

“These proceedings are now closed” said the elderly judge.
The sounds of papers being ruffled and briefcases being opened and closed overtook the vast and empty courtroom.
As those sounds diminished, the sound of footsteps replaced the short silence.
“So I hope you’re happy with the outcome” said Jonathan Green.
“Very much so, I just wish that Merlin will spare the life of his new conquest” said Hermione.
“Hermyone!” The thick Bulgarian accent was heard as Hermione closed her eyes and felt her nerves cringe.
“What do you want…Krum” said Hermione with contempt.
“Nothing! I was just wondering if we could be civil to one another”. Although inside her spleen was bursting, she gave a small smile and nodded.
“Okay, don’t worry I won’t talk to the press”. Krum nodded “Thank you” said Krum as he shook his ex-wife’s hand.
“Bye” said Hermione. Viktor nodded and left the court room with his brief.
“Well I’m glad that’s over. I hope I never see him again” said Hermione as she walked down the stairs with her friend and lawyer.
“Do you think he’ll break another woman’s heart?”
Hermione nodded “Definitely. Some men are just born to be horrible and destructive towards others. I’m sorry Jonathan; I didn’t mean to offend you.”
The lawyer laughed “Sorry for what. You’ve just described my job description. Anyhow, I hope you’re satisfied with the settlement?” Hermione nodded “Very much so. And although I’m a bit angry that you went behind my back so that I can have some time off work”.
Hermione smiled at Jonathan’s blush. “But still you’re right I need the time off. I missed so much these last few years. I hope my friends haven’t forgotten about me.”
“Oh please Hermione, who would forget you. And besides when have Harry Potter and Ron Weasley been forgetful?” said Jonathan.
Hermione smiled and nodded. “My word has been so long since I last saw them. Oh shit!”
Jonathan stopped and panicked “What!”
“It’s September 1st. I bet James is already on his way to Hogwarts. James can’t be eleven already. Can he? Not to mention the last time I saw Rosie was when she was…” Hermione stopped.
“What’s wrong?” asked Jonathan.
“Has it been three years since Pansy’s funeral? That’s the last time I saw her. Not to mention Harry, Ron and Ginny. Merlin’s sake. I should’ve been there for them when they needed me.”
“Well now that you’re on holiday until January, you might as well rebuild your friendships.” Hermione nodded; “Thanks again for the holiday”

“Oh babe, don’t cry” said Harry as he hugged his wife.
Lilly too began to cry for her brother; Ron went down and picked up his niece.
“Oh Lilly, Albus will be alright. Rosie is looking after him.”
Lilly howled even more to which Harry and Ginny couldn’t help but laugh;
“Alright Lilly, my daughter is not all that bad” said Ron as he carried her.
“Don’t worry Gin, Albus will be alright. I bet he won’t want to come back because he’s having so much fun”. “Yeah Gin, there are so many more Philosopher’s Stone’s around, you can actually build a small collection. Not to mention possessed professors, basilisks and enchanted Quidditch award cups”
Harry sneered at his brother in law to which Ron grinned in triumph. “Ok you two, don’t get into another fight. I nearly split my sides last time”.
Harry grinned at the memory. “Anyhow when are you guys going on holiday?” asked Ron
“Next week, I already renovated the holiday home. I can’t wait to get there” said Harry.
“So do you want me to babysit Lilly then?” asked Ron as they got to the car park.
Ginny and Harry exchanged a look and Harry eagerly nodded; “Actually Ron, mum’s taking care of Lilly. Both James and Albus are gone and Mum just doesn’t want to let another one go.”
“Yeah I understand. I already miss Rosie”. “Also there’s something” said Harry.
“Come with us” said Ginny. Ron was confused “What do you mean?”
“To the Bahamas, come with us. I heard what Rosie said to you and she’s right. Its time to move on”
Ron looked down “Look guys…”
“You’re not getting out of this Ronald. Rosie is at Hogwarts so its high times you thought about your future” said Ginny. “But I’ll keep you guys down. I don’t want to be a burden” said Ron. “Nonsense, Come with us. The sun, the beaches, the nightlife, what could be better?” asked Harry
Ron was sceptical, but he was surely tempted by Harry’s picture. “Alright guys let me think about it.”
“Well think fast. Cause you’ve got to let us know in three days” said Ginny. “Why do you always give me such a hard time?” asked Ron. “Cause we love you, you dolt” replied Ginny.
