Dinner at Malfoy Manor
PLEASE REVIEW.
Lucius Malfoy smiled as he placed the last napkin on the dining table. Tonight it had been set once more for two people only instead of the customary seats at each end the table had been set so the diners would be next to each other.
In the centre of this somewhat tidy arrangement sat a large crystal decanter of plum wine flanked each side by tall thick black candles which cast a warm glow over the dark red liquid. The plates were ivory and the silver had been cleaned within an inch of its existence.
Glancing once more at the table as he left the room and went to change his attire, moments later Lucius was dressed in a dark green suit and wearing a long black cloak with a high collar that had a delicate design stitched on to it.
The scene set he waited for his quarry to arrive.
Severus Snape arrived on time wearing his customary black clothing and a deep maroon travelling cloak tapping softly on the front door he expected to be ushered inside by the house elf and was surprised when Lucius himself opened the door
Stepping across the threshold Snape followed Lucius into the drawing room Snape made sure that he was where he was expected to be close to the fire so the game and it was a game he reminded himself would start.
Lucius studied Snape as if he was an exhibit on display at a museum then he tapped his cane twice on the floor and said “you look well old friend the fire gives you a healthy glow”
Smiling Snape inclined his head he had heard this comment before and although he doubted its sincerity he was touched nonetheless. “Thank you Lucius” was all he said. Glazing at the other man he felt the hair at the back of his neck raise Snape knew what he wanted but the trouble was would Lucius make his move tonight? They had spent many months together after Narcissa had left and Draco was still at Hogwarts completing his third year of education
Snape waited for the next sign of the pace the evening was going to take sometimes his visits were short and on other well they watched the sun raise together he hoped it would be a long meeting this time as he felt the time was right to confess something to the magnificent man who now led the way to the dinner table his long blonde locks shimmered in the candle light as they entered and Snape noticed that the place settings had been made next to each other this time as opposed to the settings further apart.
The meal went smoothly and Snape noticed how Lucius have prepared all of his favourite dishes the soup was perfect and the roast beef divine, Snape has about to start his dessert the consisted of lime pie when Lucius said “Let us go in to the drawing room” looking sadly at his untouched pie Snape stood and walked toward the door. He did not see Lucius pick up the pie nor did he see him slip his wand up his sleeve soon he might regret that.
