Disclaimer:
I own nothing of the Harry Potter world, it is owned by the wonderful JK Rowling and her minions. I am making absolute no money from this.
Chapter 1
Chapter 1:
A/U: So welcome to all who happen to pass by this lonely fanfiction! Its been many years since I allowed my wonderful muse to run wild on paper, so she might be alittle rusty ;) I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoy writing it. Please review, alittle encouragement or advice is always greatly welcomed.*
“Your body gives but then pulls back
The sun is bright, the sky is black
Can only be another sign
I cannot keep what isn't mine
You left your love linger on, but you, you were almost gone”
Shadow - Britney Spears
The room was quiet, and dark, lit only by two candles. The only sound was the scratching of a quill and almost silent breathing, A man with pale blonde hair sat hunched over a dark ebony desk, writing the seemly enormous letters to friend and family telling of the new life and death in his family. He let out a haggard breath as he fought back the tears that had already spilled so many times in the past couple days. He folded the letter he finished, sealing it with the Malfoy seal and added it to the towering pile and began again.
Dear Family./friend
I can proudly announce the birth of my first son, Sebastian Alexander Malfoy into this world and must sadly inform you of the terrible passing of my wife, Hermione Malfoy. The funeral will be on the morning of April 11 at the family tomb. You are welcome to come and pay your respect.
Sincerely
Draco Malfoy
He again folded it, sealed it and added it to the pile. Deciding it was late or rather early, it was time to call it quits for now. Slowly rising from his desk he felt his body protest to being forced in one position for hours. Stretching he felt parts pop, crack and ultimately feel better for a minute. He looked around his study, looking but not seeing. He was reliving memories, once happy memories…now painful.
The walls were a deep red, mostly covered with ebony bookshelves that were built into the walls; something he remember his wife had begged to put in. They were stuffed with a wide variety of books, almost everything she could get her hands on. A fireplace was placed in the middle of one wall opposite the windows, the fire dead by now. It was faced by two over-stuffed and very comfy chairs, their only purpose to keep the sitter comfortable for hours. He could see her sitting in the one on the right. Her chair. Her hair pulled loosely into a bun, bottom lip pulled in between her front teeth as she read, oblivious to the outside world. He remember how adorable she looked with her legs thrown over one arm, sitting sideways in her chair, the fire burning brightly. He fought back the tears once again.
Pulling out of his memories, he looked at his watch: 5:30. His son should be waking soon, expecting to be fed. He had to be strong, if for no one else but him. Sebastian was the only thing, Draco had left of her.
