Chapter I

Well, Lovelies. I hope that the last story was good enough to recommend this to you.

If you haven't read A Muddy Secret, I would recommend it before this.

This is one of my sequels. I intend to do two separate scenarios. One will be lighter and the other, well, dark.

LUPIN and LUCIUS and SNAPE are my hotties and my inspiration. Now that that is out of my system. I am ready to post the chapter...

For my final words of wisdom,
Here, there may be monsters.

Hermione stared after the man. Disappointment ate at her heart like slugs eating the school cabbages. She felt so bad for what she did. She had been terrified. What was she supposed to have done when two death eaters were running at her?

The promise Lucius made gave her a sick feeling in her stomach. It was so sinister.

“Enough,” Lucius said, sliding a vial containing smoky, silvery liquid into her hand. He moved his lips close to hers. “No matter what happens, Hermione, you will be mine.”

Hermione felt his hot breath, and she tilted her head up. She stared at his lips. Would he kiss her?

Lucius bent his head and pressed his forehead to Hermione's for a moment as he closed his eyes.

“Harry will win the war. He will defeat Voldemort.”

“No matter what happens, Hermione,” Lucius said, looking down his nose at her and scowling.

Ron groaned.

Hermione jumped and dropped to her knees at his side.

“What happened Hermione? I feel like I just got run over by stampeding centaurs.”

“Lucius Malfoy knocked you out with a stunning spell.”

“WHERE IS HE? I’LL KILL HIM!” Ron yelled leaping to his feet before he had to grab the sink to steady himself.

“Why are you always in my bathroom?” a whiny girl’s voice sounded behind them.

Hermione ignored Myrtle’s incessant voice.

“Malfoy left.”

“What did he do to you?”

“He didn’t,” Hermione paused for a moment, “do anything to me.”

"Fine! Ignore me!" Myrtle said, diving into her toilet with a screech.

“What’s in your hand?” Ron asked, pointing to the glass vial in Hermione’s hand.

She looked down at it for the first time. Where did it come from? She lifted it and turned it.

The silvery, smoky fluid gave off a shimmering light, and when she turned it just the right way, she could see black-green and silver on the glass a coat of arms engraved. Two wyverns were coiled supporting center shield which was divided into four sections, the upper left and lower right had crowns in them and the upper right and lower left had two snakes apiece that were twined around each other. The crest was a lady holding a sword, and above her just faintly, Hermione could see that it read Malfoy. And at the bottom, also faintly, she could read Vindex amoris.

It chilled her to the bones when she read it.

“What is it?”

“L-Malfoy gave it to me.”

“Get rid of it. Slimy gits!”

“He must have given me these memories for a reason.”

“Who cares? He is a bastard.”

“We need to go and find Harry,” Hermione said, not willing to say anything.

Mr. Malfoy was NOT a nice man.

Lucius had BEEN a nice boy.

Ron nodded, and they ran off toward where they hoped to find Harry.

Hermione stowed the memories in her robes pocket as they ran through the halls.

It was slightly more than a month later when Hermione reached into her robes and felt her fingers clench around a vial. She removed it from her pocket. Twisting it in the light, she saw the Malfoy coat of arms engraved.

She read the motto at the bottom.

Vindex amoris.

She trembled a bit at the words. They were frightful. Why that motto?

Hermione squeezed the vial. The contents glowed a more brilliant shade of silver as she removed the stopper. She carefully touched the tip of her wand to the contents.

Well, I hope that this proves to be as entertaining as the first. *inclines head to readers* Please do leave a review for me.

The translation - Vindex amoris is "Avenger of love." Assuming that my memory of Latin serves me well. At the very least, it is quite CLOSE!

I know that the first chapters are similar in general. It shall fade after here. I needed the differences inserted within them which is why it is not one big "happy" story.
