Realities Truths

Disclaimer: Not mine it belongs to J. K. Rowling. I love to mess around in her universe though.

A/N: Sorry I know I know another story and I really need to finish Angilique but when I get an idea I need to write at least one chapter or I will forget it. Sorry Gomen and all other types of apologies. Also the inspiration for this story.. actually came from another story. A Chance at Happiness in the Harry/Voldemort section and another story I read recently.

Harry spun violently and stalked out of the headmaster’s office. Sirius had died because of a stupid prophecy. A prophecy that if Harry had known of it wouldn’t have caused Sirius’ death. He was pissed at the headmaster even more than he had been about the Tri-wizard tournament. How could the man expect Harry to trust him, if he kept holding back important information that Harry should know.

Harry stalked into the mostly silent Gryffindor common room. He moved through it and up to the dorm room he shared with the other fifth year Gryffindor’s. He went into his trunk pulling out his invisibility cloak and the Marauders map. He looked into the trunk as though deciding if anything else was important. Finally he reached in and grabbed out his racing broom as well.

He stalked back down the stairs and through the common room. None of the other Gryffindor’s even attempting to stop him. He moved outside of the common room and into the hall then put the invisibility cloak around him. He made sure everything he was holding was covered as well as him then stalked down into the dungeons of Hogwarts. He wanted to go to the darkest part of the school to brood. Even though the truly darkest part was the chamber of secrets he did not wish to enter that.

He turned down several corridors he had never entered before then finally stopped and slid down against the wall keeping himself covered with the invisibility cloak. He slowly shook his head. He had no clue how do express his grief over the present situation. He felt lost confused and alone to top it all off he had caused his friends to get hurt. He was so caught up in his thoughts he didn’t hear the footsteps coming down the hall. He didn’t even notice until the form stopped near him.

Harry looked up in surprise wondering who would be so deep into the dungeons of Hogwarts only to blink in surprise. Standing near him was the Headmaster Dumbledore. His eyes were not twinkling in there normal cheery way though. Instead his eyes seemed sinister and angry. The man slowly seemed to look around as though confirming wither or not there was anyone else in the hallway.

“Victory.” Dumbledore stated simply and Harry blinked in surprise as a door appeared along the wall near where Harry was collapsed. Harry watched the man go through then the door close and vanish again. Harry quickly while under the cloak opened up the Marauders map and triggered it. He quickly centered the map on him and frowned. The room Dumbledore had just entered was not on the map. Harry began to naw at his lips. He wondered what was in this room. He closed the map and waited.

Two hours later Harry was beginning to nod off when the door reappeared and out stepped the Headmaster. Harry looked at his robes and paled a bit. There were blood specks on certain spots of them. Dumbledore muttered a cleaning spell causing the blood to vanish. Harry watched as the man walked down the hall. He waited 10 minutes to be sure that Dumbledore was gone then stood up.

“Victory.” He said softly. He watched as the door appeared. Nervously he opened it then closed the door behind himself. He glanced around then heard a whimper. He looked towards the whimper and winced.

“No more please... “ Was whispered from a male voice causing Harry to stiffen a bit. What would Dumbledore have done to someone to make them say such a thing and so weakly too. He moved around till he could see the man laid out on a table. He was strapped down his eyes shut. Harry stared at the man in shock though. The man wasn’t the tallest man he’d ever seen, but the messy dark hair on top of his head caused Harry to stare.

“Shh.. I’m not him. I’m not sure how but I’ll get you out of here.” Harry whispered softly as he moved closer. It just couldn’t be, this man couldn’t be James Potter, and if it was why would Dumbledore be torturing the man. Harry began to naw at his lips again as he spotted a wand up on a little shelf. He quickly checked the shelf for any alarms or wards. Finding none up there he pulled the wand down then went back over to the man.

He began quickly checking the straps that were holding the man down. Once he was sure they had no spells on them he began to release the man from the table. He then slowly helped the obviously weak man to his feet. The man slowly opened his eyes shuddering a bit.

“Have to get my son... He can’t stay in this school. The headmaster plans to use him and kill him.” The man said weakly as he struggled to move away from Harry. Harry frowned then shook his head a minute. This wasn’t the time for the man to try and pull some heroic stunt. Harry carefully grabbed onto the older man not letting him attempt to get away.

“Give me the name of the boy and once I’ve gotten you safely off of Hogwarts grounds I’ll get him out.” Harry said. The man took a few deep breaths and glanced again at Harry his eyes narrowed. The man finally nodded deciding to trust Harry with a sigh.

“He would be going by Harry James Potter…” The man said softly. Harry froze for a moment in shock and glanced at the other man. He licked his lips then it sunk in that his father for now he know it was James had said he would be going by. Harry blinked as understanding slipped into him. The name he had known his whole life was not his true name.

“Well… I have some good news for you. Though I’m shocked you are alive and the Dumbledore was torturing you dad.” Harry said as he wrapped the invisibility cloak around the two of them causing the man to frown a bit at the silken material. It seemed so familiar to him. Then the words Harry had said sunk in and he gripped Harry tightly.

“My boy… my little darling boy, how did you find me?” James asked in surprise as he held onto Harry like he was his only life line. Harry glanced around then hushed James as they hurried through the corridors of the school. Harry made sure that within his pockets were the two wands and the map as he held onto James with one arm and his broom with the other.

“Pure luck, I thought you were dead. That’s what I’ve been told my entire life.” Harry said softly as the walked out of the castle. Harry began to naw at his lower lip again. He knew that very soon Dumbledore would be alerted that there was a student outside of the school after curfew.

“That’s what Dumbledore wanted you to believe. That’s what he wanted everyone to believe. How he tormented me about the fact that you were going to that slut Lily’s family.” James said bitterly. Harry stiffened even as they rushed along the grounds.

“Slut? Lily isn’t my mother?” Harry questioned in shock. He watched James as he shook his head a moment. Slowly he looked down at Harry with a tight lipped smile.

“Of course not, I’m gay. I’m the one that could be considered your mother, after all I’m the one that carried you for several months.” James stated. Harry stared at James then just shook his head feeling the shock starting to take him into an abyss of darkness.

“That means… My whole life is a lie.” Harry started off softly. James held onto Harry tightly, as they reached the gates to leave Hogwarts grounds and the anti-apparition wards.

“Shh I’ll teach you the truth of your life. Just trust me please Harry.” James said softly as a very loud alarm started to go off all around Hogwarts.

“Yes I’ll trust you.” Harry murmured and began to sob as he held onto James tightly. James nodded and gathered his son up keeping the invisibility cloak around them and concentrating on the one place he knew to go. Harry shuddered at the feeling of being pulled through the eye of a needle, the feeling plus all of the shocks of the day taking their toll and dragging him into unconsciousness.

James looked down at his 15 year old son and hugged him to his chest. He then looked at where he was and slowly began to walk up the very long and neat pathway. The manor would hopefully have it’s residence’s at home so he could get back in touch with his lover. Soon hopefully things would be set right again.

James sighed as he approached the white manor. It was a long walk he felt weak and exhausted but he needed to get there. It was the only safe place for him. He reached the grand entrance hall and pulled the invisibility cloak off himself but kept it wrapped about Harry. Harry needed to stay hidden awhile longer. He grabbed the knocker and banged it on the door a few times then waited. The door opened and a House-elf looked up towards James.

“What can Mitsy do for yous?” The House-elf asked. James shook his head a moment and took a deep breath.

“I wish to speak with your Master. It is very important.” James stated calmly. Mitsy looked him over then nodded. She motioned him into the waiting room. James walked in and found a seat collapsing into it his eyes mostly closing as the door was shut behind him and with a pop Mitsy vanished. James was beginning to slide into exhausted sleep when the door into the waiting room opened and a tall aristocratic man stared.

“James, but how we all believed you had been killed by the old coot!” The man exclaimed. James looked up at the man and smiled weakly.

“That’s what he wanted you all to believe. I’ve been trapped in a secret room within Hogwarts since that day.” James said softly. The man shook his head and quickly went over to help James up. James just groaned and got up on his own still holding Harry.

“Damn it James I’m amazed you can even stand.” The man snapped. James laughed and stumbled forward a bit.

“I won’t be able to much longer. Can I rest here the night… also I have explanations to give my lover. Harry… Harry isn’t Lily’s.” James gasped out. The man stiffened in shock then stared at James.

“You mean when you left us you were…” The man trailed off trying very hard to hide his shock. James smirked a bit seeing the other mans mask slip.

“Yes. I also didn’t leave willingly. A version of liquid imperious was forced into me. It didn’t harm the developing fetus as he wanted the child but it did make me follow them.” James said softly with a slight shudder.

“By Merlin, that old coot actually… No wonder he vanished when he attempted to kill the boy. Come on I’ll get you in a room, but what are you carrying?” The man asked in surprise.

“My son, he is the reason I escaped. He found me by chance this evening.” James said softly. The aristocrat’s mask once more almost came off in shock.

“Mitsy.. Take James to the largest guest room in the family wing please.” The man said. The House Elf once more appeared and lightly touched James leg.

“As master wishes.” Mitsy said then popped away with both James and Harry into the specified rooms. James looked around then slowly unwrapped his son from the invisibility cloak. He placed the cloak and broom onto the dresser then set Harry onto the bed before collapsing on it himself. He was to exhausted to keep going and slipped into unconsciousness.

((A/N: Would be nice to stop it there but I’m trying to get out of doing such short chapters.))

Lucius stared up the stairs where he had sent his two guests. He frowned then took a slow deep breath. He wasn’t sure if he should go to his master right away with the information or wait until the next day when he could be sure that it truly was James. Taking a few deep breaths he decided and quickly walked up to his study. He looked towards his fireplace and tossed floo powder into the fire in there. He stepped into the now green flames stating his destination calmly.

He stepped out of the flames on the other side of the floo trip and brushed off the small amounts of ash that had settled on his clothing. He walked quickly along the halls towards the main room he knew Voldemort would be in. He stopped outside of the heavy wood doors and once again double checked his robes and appearance. Lifting his right hand he knocked on the door and awaited an answer from within.

“Enter.” The hissing voice from inside called. Lucius quickly entered the room walked over to Voldemort who was sitting at a desk and bowed low. He slowly stood up again to see slightly irritated red eyes narrowed in his direction.

“My lord I have come across something you may wish to know. I am not yet sure if it’s true but figured it would be best to approach you now.” Lucius stated as Voldemort stared at him.

“So what is it Lucius? I am trying to plan on how to take out that old fool of a headmaster.” Voldemort half hissed. Lucius bowed once again. Remembering how he’d almost been caught by the auror’s after the ministry situation.

“My lord if my eyes were not deceiving me it would seem James Potter is actually still alive.” Lucius said. He watched as Voldemort’s eyes locked on him then narrowed a bit.

“Explain Lucius and quickly!” Voldemort snapped. Lucius gulped and shifted nervously but nodded and took a deep breath.

“My wards went off not that long ago my lord telling me someone was approaching my home. One of my House Elves answered the door when it was knocked upon shortly after this the House Elf approached me and told me the people wanted to see me. I went to my greeting hall and sitting there looking as though he had been tortured recently was a person that looked a lot like James. He claimed to be James Potter and I remembered you saying that you had only stunned the man not killed him when we met in private after your return. I took him to a guest chambers in Malfoy manor and set a House Elf to watch him then came to see you.” Lucius reported thinking about the fact that he believed the man had Harry Potter with him.

“I must know if it truly was him Lucius I am going to your manor now!” Voldemort claimed standing from his seat. Lucius stiffened as Voldemort spoke those words.

“My lord there is a reason for you to wait till I know the truth. The man had another person with him. I believe it might have been Harry and James claimed… that well Harry wasn’t Lily’s.” Lucius stated and shifted. Voldemort hissed his face contorting in a bit of rage.

“I am going now Lucius. Accept it.” Voldemort hissed as he stalked towards the floo point so he and Lucius could return to Lucius’ home.

“As you wish my lord.” Lucius said with a bow. He couldn’t fight against the man more than he already had. He had expected something like this at least.

Dumbledore stretched as he approached his office, a pleased smile on his lips. Harry was getting a little out of control but once the next hardship hit him he would come back to the puppet master. Dumbledore smirked quietly as he entered his chamber. Albus went to his seat and collapsed into it looking over at the phoenix. It was glaring balefully at him and caused him to laugh.

“You wouldn’t be here if you hadn’t let me trick you, you stupid fried turkey!” The man snapped at the bird. The phoenix trilled at him angrily then turned its back to him. He smirked again and shut his eyes. He loved how the phoenix’s anger filled the room around him.

He pulled out one of the lemon drops he had come to love so much and popped it into his mouth when a loud alarm went off outside. He jumped up his eyes going wide as he looked at Fawks. He then spun and ran out of his office looking as the other teachers came running up to the Headmasters office questions on their faces.

“Albus what is going on?” Minerva asked as she approached him. He frowned and shivered nervously.

“Minerva my dear… After what happened this evening I choose to put a charm on Harry until it was time for him to return to his family. This alarm means for some reason Harry has left the grounds. We must find him and quickly before something awful happens to him!” Dumbledore explained. The teachers all nodded quickly and ran down the steps to go search through Hogsmead for Harry. Severus was moving a little slower than others noticed the extreme anger on Albus’ face.

Dumbledore wasn’t too worried about finding the boy. He was pissed off that the boy was causing these many problems now. The boy was a puppet not a worthy being. Dumbledore took a few deep breaths before stalking back to the room that he had been in earlier that night. He needed to take his frustrations out on something. That something would be his special prisoner. His blue eyes were as hard as ice as he stalked down into the dungeons and up to a blank wall.

“Victory.” Albus stated before walking into the room snarling. “Potter your son isn’t playing nice again, so guess who will be punished!” Albus paused when there was no reply to his words. He looked around the room his eyes widening in surprise when he found the room empty except the table he had chained the man to.

“By the gods and goddess’!” Albus exclaimed then pointed his wand at the table casting incendio on the table causing it to burn to ash before stalking out of the room and pausing. Harry was gone and so was James, was it possible that Harry had found James. If he had that would explain his running from Hogwarts. Albus raced out of the school and towards Hogsmead. If James was still conscious and if Harry had grabbed James’ wand James could of apparated them somewhere else.

Albus didn’t even notice as he passed by Severus who was watching the old man and had seen the secret room that Albus had entered. Albus had forgotten to make sure the door was closed before talking so Severus’ had heard him say the name Potter within it. He shook his head but quickly joined the other teachers in their search positive they would find nothing.
