The Malfoy Chronicles: A Witch in Time

A few of my fans mentioned that a romantic relationship between James and Draca from the original Malfoy Chronicles would be cool. This is it, folks, with a little plot mixed in. I hope that you all enjoy this story. I've matured a bit as a writer since I wrote The Malfoy Chronicles.

Well, without further ado, I give you - The Malfoy Chronicles: A Witch in Time
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A flash of white-blonde hair in the light of the station caught the eyes of many spectators. The girl walked with an air of extreme confidence. Her low-heeled black shoes clicked primly across the floor as she walked, and she stopped for only a moment to reapply pink shimmering lip-gloss before continuing on her way.
Draca Malfoy stepped onto platform nine and three-quarters, her family just behind her. This would be her sixth year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and she was excited as ever to attend.
“Now, now, Draca. Don’t apply too much of that lip-gloss. I don’t want those filthy, ravenous boys too attracted to my little girl…” said her father. She turned to face him, and smile on her face.
“Yes, father…” she said, and laughed gently when her grandmother rolled her eyes.
“Now Draco….you know very well that she’ll be attracting those boys without the help of that lip-gloss. She has the Malfoy good looks!” Narcissa teased, smiling at her granddaughter.
Lucius clicked his tongue. “We know. That’s what worries us.” He said, a mischievous smile on his face.
Abraxas grunted softly from behind them. “Any reason I got stuck pushing Miss Prissy-pants’ trolley? I’m not even going to Hogwarts this year…” he groaned. Draca flashed a perfectly white smile at her older brother.
“Abraxas, my brother, did you expect me to push that horrid trolley? I just got my nails done…” she said, holding out her nails to inspect them. There was an indignant huff from her brother as he pushed the trolley to the train to be loaded. Her grandmother laughed gently.
“That’s my girl! Using those feminine wiles already…” she teased. Draca smiled again. There was a slight commotion to her left, and a boy with messy black hair jogged up to her.
Well…he wasn’t exactly a normal boy. James Potter was…different to say the least. At the age of three years old he had been kidnapped by rogue Death Eaters from a park. His parents had feared they would never see him again. The Death Eaters were cruel to the young boy, and hexed him with unmentionable, not to mention highly experimental, jinxes and curses. They forced unknown potions down his throat until he was no longer fully human. It was as if he had taken Polyjuice Potion with the essence of a dragon mixed in. Large, opalescent black wings adorned his back, shimmering in the sparse light of the station. A long black tail swished behind him, and his pointed ears twitched at the noise.
He grinned at Draca, revealing his long white fangs. “Draca, my girl! The summer has been very kind to you!” he said, and she blushed softly. James was her best friend in the world, and had been since they were six years old. He had befriended her when no one else would, because of her standing as a Parselmouth. Parselmouths were less-than-popular at the moment, due to the War that had just ended with one of the most cruel and powerful Parselmouths to ever grace the wizarding world.
“You’ve filled out quite nicely from the gangly little fifteen-year-old boy that left Fifth Year.” She teased, and he flexed the lean muscles in his arms.
“Well, what with the Auror training my pops has been putting me through... Just because he’s the Head doesn’t mean he had to pull strings for me to become the youngest Auror in the history of the group…” he said. Draca smiled at her friend. She knew that Harry Potter could be a bit…overbearing when it came to James. He was afraid that with his free use of wandless magic, and his predisposition for all things Dark, he would turn out to be some crazy Dark Wizard that had the potential to be more deadly than Voldemort. So he had convinced the Minister of Magic, who happened to be James’ uncle Percy, to allow him to train him as an Auror. James had passed the Junior Auror test in his fifth year, and was at present a full-fledged Auror.
As he was still in school, he was kept on Reserve. Should there be extenuating circumstances, he would be called to fight with the Aurors, but other than that he would continue his schooling as usual.
“I think it’s sexy. That Auror uniform really brings out your eyes…” she teased. He gave another toothy grin, and posed comically in front of her.
“Well…forest-green really is my color. Not too far off from my House, you see…” he said. She rolled her eyes. James had been Sorted into Slytherin, much to the chagrin of his father. But the House fit nicely, as James was indeed cunning and ambitious.
“Of course, Jamsie! But it clashes with my House colors….” She said, adjusting her Gryffindor tie. That had been a shock to the whole family, as she was the first Malfoy in the history of the entire family to be Sorted into Gryffindor. They accepted it eventually, however.
“Have you seen the Unseen?” he asked, causing Lucius Malfoy to raise a perfect flaxen eyebrow.
“Is that some sort of riddle?” he asked. James grinned.
“Nah. Just the name of our little group. Sort of like the Marauders of my dad’s dad’s age, except we don’t get caught.” He said, and winked at Lucius. They Malfoys were friendly with the Potters, as James was over at their house a great deal due to his friendship with Draca.
“How very comforting…” Lucius said, shaking his head slightly.
“Well…if it isn’t the youngest Auror to ever grace the wizarding world.” Drawled a dark voice. James turned to face Severus Snape.
“Hey there, Snape-a-doodle!” he said, ruffling his wings slightly as the man raised a dark eyebrow, sneering slightly.
“Never….ever….call me that….” He said, and a black-headed boy appeared from behind him. Tobias Snape, James’ best male friend, was also an Unseen and in Slytherin House with James.
“Honestly, father. You should take James less seriously. It’s all that Auror training gone to his head.” Tobias offered, his dark eyes resting on his friend. James laughed, his tail swishing behind him.
“It’s all right, ‘Bias. He’ll always hate me. I look even more like my grandfather than my father…save my….draconic accessories.” He said, spreading his wings slightly. Were he to spread them fully he’d probably poke out a few eyes, as well as knock some people over. The bloody things were huge. Tobias chuckled.
“Well, we might as well get on the train, I bet Pucey’s already there.” He said. Scott Pucey was yet another of the Unseen, and in Slytherin House as well.
The children said their goodbyes to their families, and boarded the Hogwarts Express eagerly.
James merely had to give a toothy grin, and a few first years cleared out of a choice compartment. Draca rolled her eyes, and the group settled in. They were joined a few minutes later by a flushed Scott Pucey.
“What’s wrong with you, mate?” James asked, slipping off his Auror robes.
“Two words: Jennifer Turnpike.” He said, grinning. James shook his head.
“You are one restless little horndog…” he said. Pucey noticed the forest-green Auror robes.
“So your dad finally got you in? I bet it was hard work…” he said. James nodded.
“Yeah. I had to fight friggin Kingsley Shacklebolt. That man is a fucking monster…” he said. Draca giggled.
“I think he’s kinda hot. There’s just something strangely alluring about giant black men…” she said. James rolled his gold eyes.
“He would snap you in half, Draca.” He said. She shrugged.
“So? I would die happy…” and the compartment burst into fits of laughter. James quickly got the situation under control. He made sure the compartment door was completely closed, and cast a privacy spell.
“All right, mates. The first meeting of the Unseen is underway. Draca, report financial situation.” He said.
Draca reached into her carry-on bag, and pulled out a piece of parchment. “As of last meeting last year, we have three hundred and seventy-four galleons, fifty-six sickles, and four knuts.” she said. James nodded.
“Scott, have our forms been discovered?” he asked.
“No, James. Our forms are still secret, otherwise we probably wouldn’t be allowed back in Hogwarts for the crap we’ve pulled.” He said, and James grinned.
The Unseen were very much like the Marauders. Pranksters, plain and simple, with the same hidden trick up their sleeve. All had an Animagi form. It was for a different reason then the Marauders, however. The Marauders had become Anamagi to keep their werewolf friend company during his transformations. The Unseen became Anamagi to better sneak around the school under the wards. It wasn’t easy, either. It had taken them until third year to finaly pull it off.
Tobias Snape commanded the form of a Panther. His stealth and speed were always helpful. Scott Pucey was a red fox, quick and cunning, and his small form allowed him access to more places than the great panther. James had a unique magic that allowed him to take the shape of many creatures, but his favorite was a black dragon the size of a horse. Quick, cunning, strong, and damn-near impossible to hex, he was often the secret weapon of the Unseen. Draca Malfoy’s form wasn’t used very often, lest their adventures take them into the Forbidden Forest. Draca took the form of a glimmering white unicorn.
They knew what they were doing was illegal, but they had all promised themselves that they would Register themselves once they got out of school. Well…James was already Registered, due to the public nature of his transformations. But not many knew of his dragon form, because he used other forms in public lest his cover be blown.
“Tobias, what’s our supply list?” he asked, and Tobias grinned.
“Well, father taught me how to brew Smokescreen. He thought it would be a good idea….he doesn’t know that I nicked quite a bit of it. It comes in individual vials, and when the vials are opened, or broken, a thick cloud of smoke appears. I thought we could use it for quick getaways.” He said. James nodded. “And of course our basic healing potions, Forgetful Draughts, and some Firewhiskey.” He said. James laughed.
“Great. We can start planning for our first prank very soon. Well, my friends…welcome to our Sixth Year!”
