Okay, I just spent more than a few hours writing the first six chapters of this story so I HAVE to be a good little fanfic person and update regularly. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy and y'know...review. :)
“I don't know what you two are trying to achieve,” Snape was flicking through some papers on his desk with a strained expression, “if it is martyrdom, I believe catholics probably wouldn't look so fondly on two witches. If you are trying to impress someone, you will both end up dead before, and if, they even find out.” He looked up at them finally, looking mildly angry, but mostly just fed up. Ginny stared back at him defiantly, chin held high. Luna gazed absent mindedly around the office, twisting her feet as if dancing on the spot.
“Don't you have a pet?” Luna cocked her head and smiled at Snape. “You know they're wonderful for company, maybe you'd be a little less upset all the time if you had a cat.” Snape groaned and buried his head in his hands.
“I honestly don't know what to do with you two, I can't not punish you for breaking into my office, but hard as it is to believe, I don't want your blood spilt by the Carrows.” Ginny scoffed and crossed her arms.
“Like you care what happens to us, you'd kill us both with as much regret as if you were killing a cockroach if we weren't both pureblood.” She was surprised when, rather than take the bait, Snape simply pulled a piece of parchment torwards himself and began writing.
“Believe what you would like to believe Miss Weasley. You will have a week of detention in the forest with Hagrid. Now go back to your dormitories and go to bed, I have work to do.” Ginny's jaw dropped and she stared at Snape in disbelief.
“Is that all?” Snape sighed loudly and pointed his wand towards the door, causing it to fly open with a bang.
“You are trying my patience, consider yourselves lucky that I am in a lenient mood tonight. For your crime and the fact that neither of you has referred to me as professor or sir the whole time you've been in here, you deserve much worse.” The two girls had finally turned to leave, when the fire which had been crackling quietly in the background suddenly turned green and rose to fill the entire grate. Ginny gasped when the tall figure of Lucius Malfoy stepped regally out and, ignoring the two girls, bowed stiffly to Snape.
“Your presence is desired at the manor Severus. Our Lord has decided a night of entertainment is in order, and he wishes you to perform.” Snape's upper lip curled in distaste, though he rose and swept towards the fire.
“Now get back to bed, your detentions shall take place every night starting tomorrow at eight.” Lucius placed a hand on the headmaster's shoulder, he was looking the two girls up and down with interest.
“But Severus, dear friend, if punishment is in order for these two...girls, bring them along. I'm sure they will be most... popular.” His lip curled, and Ginny's heart skipped a beat. She glanced at Snape and saw the flicker of fear in his eyes.
“Don't be ridiculous Lucius, they are just children. Besides I cannot simply take students to the manor at your desire.” Lucius narrowed his eyes at Snape and walked over to the girls, seizing their upper arm's roughly.
“You know the Dark Lord would love to send a message to the blood traitors they belong to. You no longer have to answer to anyone except him, is there another reason, perhaps, that you wish to spare their innocence?” Snape paused, keeping the battle inside of him masked behind a sneer.
“Of course, Lucius, bring them along. I'm sure he will just have them sent back.” Ginny grabbed Luna's hand and wiped a tear as they were steered forcefully towards the fire.
