Revenge Is An Act of Passion

A/N: This is the challenge fic from Silvara Wilde. I just thought I'd try my hands at a challenge fic, because I haven't wrote any thing in forever and I need some ideas. I liked hers it was pretty interesting and I just hope I can stick with it till the end. So please enjoy. I know my typing sucks, a bit, please don't mention it. I hate hearing about things I already know. Also the chapters will be short, but I'll try to keep them from not being too short. After all I hate short chapters too and why should I do some thing I hate. This is going to be in Harry's point of view, if at one point it's not I will tell you who's point of view it is in. Oh, and if you don't like slash or Snarry, please leave because that is what this fic is.

Chapter 1: One Dreams of Revenge

"Revenge is sweeter than life itself." (1)

That simple little sentence was the sole purpose of why I sit, three days before the end of my sixth year, reading mounds of thickset books within the restricted section of the library.

Yes, I know there is more to that quotation, but I'm far past caring that I'm being a fool for wanting revenge. In all my opinion, no matter how childish it may be, that man has brought this degree of animosity out of me and I will have my revenge on that injudicious beast of a man!

With a sigh I set the current tome down in to my lap, a hand reaching up and massaging my brow. Calm, was the word running through my head, even though I was far from calm, but there was no need to bring Miss Norris back in my direction, again. That cats nose was far too good and some times I swear she could see through the invisibility cloak.

I ran the same hand through my hair, which was getting far to long, I really should listen to Ginny's advice and get it cut. Another sigh escaped me as the thought of the vivacious red head sent a piercing pain through my chest. Another great girl who left me, am I really that undatable. I shake my head of the thought, after all I already know our breakup was my fault.

Our relationship was at a time of great crisis in both the Wizarding and Muggle worlds, I had a responsibility to get rid of the existence of one dark lord. Boy, was that an honor from fate or what, but that time was over. Has been over since December. Every thing has been calming down and everyone has been piecing their lives back together one careful placed piece at a time. Maybe, I could start over again with Ginny? Its worth a look in to...after my revenge, of course.

My eyes traveled back to the book in my lap and then closed after a glimpse of the disfigured body lying dead inside one of the corner pictures. How I can still stomach these books I'll never know. Turning the page away from the sight, my mind began to wonder again...to the one who was cause of me being here.

Severus Snape, potion master of this very school, and man who decided to take it upon himself to be the most annoyingly crude man in my life. I've been angry with him before, but never at this extent.

The war was troubling for use all and I desperately needed training. Out of all the capable hands I was put under, Dumbledore chose the hands I most despised. Yet, I have to admit, Snape, was a good teacher, borderline brilliant on occasion. For those few months and those short visits to the dungeons we seemed to have made a, shaky, but understandable trues. I came, I trained, and then I went away. No words were ever spoken unless necessary....that is in till now.

As soon as the dark lord fell and we were all back in school finishing up our schooling, while the world tried to right itself again, all the insults Snape had thrown at me before and some times during my training came back in to the classroom and with an over amount of abundance. He has been nothing but a total right on arse towards me since classes were back on.

He has brought me down to this breaking point and I'm ready to drag him down with me...but first I need the perfect revenge; weather it be spell, potion, or well anything really.

Bringing my focus back towards the book I realized this one was a total waste as well, setting it down beside me I grabbed another book from off the pile at my left. Strangely this book had no title and I became a bit weary, after all no good ever came from unnamed books. With some Gryffindor courage I forced myself to open the large tome and by good grace nothing happened.

On the front page written in 'purple?' ink was spelled out four simple words The Cosmos Will Tell. A strange title but sparking my interest none the less I turned the next page. Parvulus Lascivio (2), was wrote on the next page in the same purple ink, but this time underneath was a few easily retrievable items and a small paragraph:

Write down the name of the one you wish to bind on a single piece of parchment

Burn Sandalwood incense

Light five white candles in a circle around you

While Burning the parchment convey these words:

I burn thy name so it shall be
a magic spell to make it last
Oh spirits, I ask thee, bind (________) from him/herself
and of him/herself
Parvulus Lascivio (3)

I couldn't help but guffaw at the dippy ritual, "I wonder how this got in to the restricted section?"

Turning the page again I was disappointed to find there was nothing there. 'To bad,' I thought. 'I could of used another laugh.'

Giving up for the night, I began stacking books back on to the shelf, I still have a few more days in till the train departed home. I was just about to place the last book in to its place when I heard mewling from close by.

"What is it sweets? Do you smell a disorderly student out of bed?"

'Shit,' Clutched the book to my chest I stealthily made my way out of the restricted section and out of the library with out giving either Mr.Filch or his evil cat any signs of me being there.

As soon as I got back to the Gryffindor common room I finally took notice of the thick book wrapped with in my fingers. Taking a good look I smiled realizing it was that pointless book from before.

"I'll tell Ron about it in the morning can't let some thing as hilarious as this go."

Looking at the spell once more I chuckled, "Might be fun to try out."

With that said I ran back to the dorms and to my welcoming bed.

A/N First chapter is pretty bad, but I just wanted to get the starter out of the way. Next chapter will be up soon. I hope you enjoyed.

(1) "Revenge is sweeter then life itself. So think fools." by Saint Juvenal, a roman poet for the Christian Saints.

(2) Parvulus Lascivio, it's latin for children play...at least I hope it is.

(3) I made this spell ritual up and I know it sucks, but hey it could of been worse.
