Passion in The Dark

“Potter’s gone again.”

Mad eye moody just appeared out of the floo system and stumbled into a school staff meeting with half of the order members, now the Dark Lord Voldemort was back, everyone was on high alert and there was even more protection around the school than ever before.

Silence filled the room and then the explosion began all at once, Dumbledore sighed and took off his half moon glasses, rubbing the bridge of his nose as questions were fired at him from left, right and centre.

“How long Alistair, how long had he been gone this time?”

He looked up at the ex-Auror, twinkle in his eye diminished; this had been happening since before his first school year and foolishly he had allowed it, thinking that for his own safety the boy wouldn’t disappear this summer like usual.

He was always back in time for school, nobody had confronted him seeing as it was not there place.

They were only, after all, his professor’s and guard (not that he knew that of course) not his parents and guardians, there was only so much they could do when interfering with his life, although sometimes Dumbledore wished he had taken the boy in as his own charge, life would have been much more simple.

“Nobody has seen him for two weeks but since nobody informed me," he glared at Tonks whose skin turned a revolting shade of midnight blue, turning back to normal when the her boss looked away from her.

"He could have been gone longer, I would have asked his relatives but they have not been in on the watches I was there," again he glared at Tonks and also Remus Lupin who flushed and was sat clasping Sirius Black's hand and rubbing his rather swollen stomach, he was after all 7 months pregnant. Yes those two had been very busy within the last 10 months.

“Okay, everyone I want you all in pairs and I want you to search every place possible. He will most likely fight tooth and nail if and when you find him. He has kept his disappearance every summer under lock and key and I have the feeling he will not enjoy being dragged to Hogwarts before term begins," everyone listened intensively to the old wizard and looked slightly ill at the thought of a pissed off Harry Potter.

"Any, ah, advice Albus, when we do finally find Harry?" Mr Weasley grimaced also at the thought of trying to pin a very magically able Harry Potter to the floor or some other such nonsense.

"Keep muggle restraints with you, call for back-up, if you can't bring him in, tag him," Albus wanted to cringe at what he had said; he had the boy sound like some sort of animal!

'Why do you do this to us Harry?'

Albus sighed and rested his head in his hands as the rest of the people in the room filed out, Sirius Black and Mad Eye shouting at each other about search groups and who would go where.
