prologue

Dear Harry J. Potter,

I have something that once belonged to your Mother,.
I know a great more then anyone has told you.
I know a secret that Professor Dumbledore has kept from
You, he isn’t as good as you think he is.
Meet me in the forbidden forest if you want the heirloom of
Your family’s.

Signed ?

Harry blinked a few times re-reading the letter in his hands that Hedwig his pet owl had just sent to him. Hedwig had nipped at his finger happily before returning to the Owlery. He nearly glared when his best friend Ron Weasly yanked the letter away from him and handing it to Hermione Granger after reading it. Harry glared at them. “Give that back to me. It is my letter!”

“We should defiantly turn this in to Pr. Dumbledore.” Hermione said with a nod. “Isn’t it obvious that this is a trap by you-know-who?”

Ron nodded. “Pr. Dumbledore is the best Hogwarts headmaster we have ever had!”

Harry yanked the letter back from Hermione and stuffed it in his cloak. “How can you be so sure he isn’t hiding anything? He hid the prophesy from me until last year!” Ron and Hermione both frowned. To keep them satisfied he answered while taking some mashed potatoes. “I’m not stupid enough to go into the forbidden forest. I just don’t want everyone to worry. If Pr. Dumbledore sees this he’ll worry a lot more.”

“Okay.” Hermione said looking quite sympathetically. “Anyway I decided to keep pursuing S.P.E.W!” Both boys groaned as she jotted up and ran for the library.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Later that evening Harry Potter pulled on his invisibility cloak looking over to Ron who was sleeping soundly in his bed. “Sorry for lying Ron.” He whispered tip-toeing out of the Gryffindor House. Thankfully that he had his Marauders’ Map with him. He was able to get outside without bumping into anyone.

The wind was horrendous even making the trees appear to shake as if frightened. Harry Potter sighed pulling his cloak tighter around him and making his way through the dark forest, he of course was in his invisibility cloak which hid him from mortal eyes. He desperately wanted to turn back and head up to the cozy warmth of the Gryffindor common room but the letter had held to much curiosity over him. He didn’t trust Albus Dumbledore anymore, not after hiding such an important thing from him. And Dumbledore claimed that he cared too much for him. Harry scoffed quietly making his way deeper into the forest.

He wondered if the cloaked man by the dying oak tree was the one who had sent the letter. He felt a chill run up his spine as the man spoke. “Harry Potter, I’m so glad you could make it.”

“Voldemort,” Harry spat pulling of his cloak and pulling out his wand. “You tricked me!”

“Ah but I did no such thing.” Voldemort said with a wicked grin on his face. “I wanted to tell you the truth, giving you a chance to make your own decisions rather than being an old man’s puppet.”

Harry narrowed his eyes and spat out with venom encircling each word that he stated. “You killed my parents and you expect me to trust you?”

Voldemort looked amused pulling back his hood and folded his arms leaning back against a tree. He had undergone some strange dramatic changes in appearance. He had long black hair, and a normal human face, his eyes were still crimson red. He chuckled a bit at the shocked look upon Harry’s face. “I wasn’t fully transformed when Wormtail brought me back to life. I don’t expect you to trust me. You are the only one who can decide whom you want to trust. I just hope you will listen and choose wisely.”

“You are going to kill me!” Harry said.

“I was planning too. I was informed wrongly of the so called ‘prophecy’ and I think you were too.” Voldemort reached inside of his cloak all the time watching Harry. A round necklace with that appeared to have a universe locked inside it. Voldemort handed it to Harry. Harry glared at him etching closer to Voldemort yanking the necklace out of his hand roughly and then backing away. “Your welcome”

Harry Potter frowned looking at the necklace thinking it was beautiful. He was still eyeing Voldemort suspiciously. “So what is Dumbledore hiding?”

Voldemort sighed with something akin to pity in his crimson eyes. Harry did not like it. “You are being brought up to die. To make Dumbledore look like a hero. He has the whole thing planned out in his mind. Manipulating us against one another, I was told you were to become a dark wizard who would destroy all wizarding kind. That is why I hunted you down. You are nothing more then a tool made to die.”

Harry shook his head in disbelieve. It couldn’t be true. He shook his head pulling his invisibility cloak over his body and took off yelling over his shoulder that Voldemort was crazy. He heard Voldemort chuckling behind him.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day Harry was not in a good mood he had placed the necklace underneath his shirt hidden from them. He didn’t want them to know what he had gotten. He didn’t want them to know he had gone into the forbidden forest after telling them he wouldn’t. He had poured out oatmeal into his bowl and was now just dipping his spoon in and out of the oatmeal staring into space.

“Harry did you hear what I said?” Ron asked him waving his hand in front of Harry’s face.

Harry blinked and looked over at Ron. “Sorry what did you say?”

“I said Snape is glaring at you.” Ron said. “I swear he is a greasy slime ball.”

Harry looked up at the teachers table to see Severus Snape watching him with a thoughtful expression. Harry shook his head picking up his book bag. “I’m not hungry; I’m going to class early.” He left them without looking back.

He wasn’t able to concentrate at all during his classes the words of Voldemort echoing in his head. Was he really right about Dumbledore? He was quite grateful to be in bed at the end of the day.

HARRY’S DREAM

A young woman with read hair sighed looking over to James Potter. “I don’t want to marry you!” She was glaring and had received a harsh slap across the face sending her flying to the floor. She rubbed her cheek grabbing her wand.

“Expelliarmos” James said pointing his wand at Lily, her wand flew in the air and landed in James arm. He flung her on his bed. “You are being a very bad girl. You don’t want me to bind you, do you?” He questioned with a smirk growing on his face. Lily spat in James face earning her another slap. “Very well.” He muttered a spell under his breath and instantly ropes had tied Lily down to the bed she was thrown on.

Lily glared up at James. “You don’t want to do this! What if someone comes in? I’ll tell Dumbledore.”

James grinned. “Dumbledore assured me that no one would come in to interrupt us. After all he is the one who promised you to me.” He pulled out a small bottle in his hand forcing Lily to drink it. “You will become pregnant, and you will be bonded to me. I suggest you marry me rather then having or son realize that he is a product of rape. Think what it will do to his mind.” He jumped on Lily undoing her robes. Lily gave a scream as James had muttered a silencing charm so no one would hear her. She felt helpless.

“Please…James….don’t” Lily whispered as James had started touching her body, foundling her breasts. She sobbed when James had positioned himself in between her legs. She gave a terrified scream as he thrust into her without any preparation. “James…STOP!” she had yelled but all her protest didn’t stop him from thrusting in her. James was enjoying himself.

Harry screamed for his dad to stop and the scenery changed. He was now standing in the corner of Dumbledore’s office. “You have made her yours and gave her the potions?”

James nodded. “Yes, she agreed to marry me to hide the shame.”

Dumbledore nodded his blue eyes twinkling. “That is wonderful. So the child will be born. I’m glad you’re going to get the family you wanted.” He watched James leave. “Oh yes, the child will die as well. But first I need to make sure that Voldemort thinks the kid is a danger. I think it’s time to visit Trelawney.”

Again the scene had changed…

Voldemort was sitting in his chair quite human looking. Another man stood in front of him folding back his cap to reveal Severus Snape. “My Lord I have heard part of the prophecy.”

“Tell it to me.” Voldemort whispered.

The prophecy of his birth sounded accurate but then what Severus spoke shocked Harry. “The child shall kill and become the worst Dark Wizard the world has ever seen.”

Voldemort nodded. “I shall take care of it.”

Again the scene had changed

Dumbledore sat down at his desk looking quite pleased. “Yes,” he said stroking his phoenix. “The Potters are dead. Just as I thought Tom Riddle would do. Harry will grow up hearing terrible things about Voldemort of course he is evil hating Muggles as he does. Harry will grow up to die and I will be known as the greatest wizard alive. But first I will insure that all the purebloods die.”

END HARRY’S DREAM

Harry woke up in sweat the necklace burning against his chest he had pulled it out to see it was a dark cloudy color. He heard the voice of his mother. “I have given you the truth my son. Albus Dumbledore is a very evil man. Unlike Voldemort, Dumbledore wishes the death of all pure bloods. He is far crueler then anyone knows. Be very careful around him I think he wants to kill you.” The voice faded and the necklace turned back into a black with the small galaxy inside it.

Harry went up to the Owlery and pulled out parchment writing on it.

To Red,

I believe you.
Where can we meet?
I don’t think it’s safe to
Be around Lemon Drops
Anymore.

Scar.

Take this to the person who sent me the last letter. Hedwig nodded looking proud when Harry whispered. “Be very secretive about this, I don’t want anyone to see this.” Hedwig nibbled his finger reassuringly and took off into the night.

Harry found the next two weeks excruciating and had received detention from Snape. Of course his detention wasn’t what he had expected. Snape had walked towards him. “We are going to Hogsmead you can escape Lemon Drops if you head into the small grey house of the town. You are dismissed.”

“Harry you haven’t been eating lately are you okay?” Hermione asked. “I’m getting very concerned for you.”

Harry looked up at her opening his potions book. “I’m just worried about the exams this year. You know I need to pass so I can be an Auror.”

Ron clapped him on the shoulder. “Don’t worry mate. We’ll have a great time at Hogsmead!”

Hermione nodded standing up. “Let’s go.”

The three of them walked into Hogsmead, enjoying the sun’s warmth against their skin. Harry had waited until Ron and Hermione got distracted into their conversation before leaving them. He had pulled on his invisibility cloak and headed where Snape had told him.

Voldemort was standing there in purple cloaks. He extended his hand. “Let’s not let Dumbledore win.”

Harry was scarred but took his hand when he heard Hermione’s voice calling him.

DUMBLEDORES OFFICE

“We can’t find Harry Potter!” Albus Dumbledore stated pacing in his room. “I think the dark lord might have gotten him. You will find that out.”

Severus Snape nodded and left. “Not in your lifetime bastard.”
