Prefect Pair

Chapter One
(Herminoe deep in thought packing for the return to Hogwarts for her 7th year) “This year had to be different. It was her last year at Hogwarts. The war was over for the most part. Harry made it through, barely but he had made it. When Harry battled Voldemort he had been injured almost fatally. If it hadn’t been for Draco Malfoy of all people to find him after the battle then he would have bleed to death. Harry still hadn’t been able to tell the story of the final battle to anyone but her. Ron was most upset about that fact but he didn’t press her or Harry about the details once Harry told him it had involved a rather large spider. Voldemort had used magical creatures as body guards towards the end of the war when his minions ran thin. But with the war over and the friendship still intact this year had to be great. She and Ron were dating kinda … She guessed she counted a few dates and stolen kisses dating. . . Oh well she still needed to talk to him about all of that… Ginny and Harry were dating much to Mrs. Weasley’s delight. Harry had mention engagement to Hermione the other day in a letter but he didn’t think it would go that far for a while yet if Ginny could behave herself… Ginny to much like her older twin brothers for her own good… Wow in a years time she would be out of school then what? Well with making head girl this year a job anywhere was a possibility now…”
BEEP BEEP BEEP
“Oh crap thats my alarm the train leaves in a half hour and I still have to pack my clothes” Hermione quickly pulled out her wand and shrunk her whole dresser and tossed it into her truck.
“There problem solved” as she finished shrinking other essentials for school.
“Honey you all packed yet” her mother ask as she walked in the door followed by her father.
“Yes I just finished and I was about to come say goodbye because if I don’t leave in the next 5 minutes I’ll be late.”
“Well the head girl can’t be late now can she” her father said as he kissed her goodbye on the forehead”
Her mother motioned for her to sit on the bed “Honey we just want you to know that we understand you went through a lot over the summer with the war and all… Are you sure you’re ready to go back to school so soon… I mean you just got home 2 weeks ago from god knows where.. You haven’t even told us what happened other then its over..”
“Mom I haven’t told ya’ll because I cant talk about it… It was war mom and unless you were there you wouldn’t understand the measures we had to take… One day when the history books are wrote I’ll let you read about it but this is one part of my life I cant share with ya’ll from a first person point of view…”
Her dad spoke this time before her mother could insist some more “ Honey when and if you’re ever ready to share anything with us we’ll be glad to hear it… we love you and just want to know what you went though”
“I love ya’ll too… I have to go now or I’ll be late. I’ll see ya’ll over Christmas unless something changes and the Order needs me” She kissed both her parents and apperated out before they could protest.
Draco was already sitting in the Heads compartment when she walked in. She had assumed he would get the position after all he had the grades and had shown his leadership skills during the war.
“Malfoy”
“Granger”
“How come you’re here so early”
“Didn’t have anything else to do and none of the other slytherins are currently speaking to me so…”
“Oh well…” She never got to finish her sentence because Harry and Ron burst through the door.
Harry got to her first and lifted her up in a bear hug “Congrats on head girl” Ron was next to hug her and congratulate her.
Draco was all but forgotten about as the Golden Trio got caught up on what each other had been doing since the month that they had last seen each other. Hermione had spent an extra two weeks at head quarters restocking the potion supplies before returning home were as the boys went to the burrow to rest and finish healing under the watchful eye of Mrs. Weasley.
Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumblebore came in and sent Harry and Ron away so Draco and Hermione could be informed of their duties and all that would be expected of them this year.
Dumbledore was the first to speak “Congratulations on the achievement of Head status it is the most prestigious position we award to students. Ya’ll were chosen for many reason most of which had nothing to do with how well your grades were but on your individual achievements and merits that have been watched and noticed since your first day at Hogwarts. You will of course be moved to Head’s dormitory however you will have access to all four dormitories from the Head Common you should u need it. Although you both now have privileges that allow almost complete assess to the whole school at anytime I would like to ask that you not abuse it.”…. The speech went on for another hour.
After the professors left Draco and Hermione decided to take a nap since they would be excepted to perform the hallway patrols tonight since the first Prefect meeting wasn’t until tomorrow morning after class.
Hermione woke with a start when she thought she had one of those falling dreams… having dreamed she landed on something warm and firm she just snuggled closer and kept sleeping… “Um Granger as much as I enjoy you being on top of me I think we should continue you this later it appears the train as suddenly stopped” Her eyes immediately snapping open to look into the most breathtaking pair of Sliver eyes she had ever seen. “Oh … um .. I … Sorry” Was all she could manage before He laughed and started to get up.
He had laid on the floor sometime to be able to stretch out...Not long after he had fallen asleep dreaming about the Amazing girl sitting across from him did she actual fall off and land on him. He had woken when he felt the brakes slam on then His breath was knocked out of him when Hermione fell off her seat onto him. She had been warm and so soft he knew she hadn’t woken all the way up and was about to shake her awake when she snuggled closer to him. It had taken all he had not to snuggle back. He had wanted her since she slapped him in 3rd year. He tried to tell himself it was just lust but somewhere deep in his heart he thought it might be more. He hated to wake up but he heard someone walking outside the compartment and didn’t want someone coming in and getting the wrong idea.
“Um Granger as much as I enjoy you being on top of me I think we should continue you this later it appears the train as suddenly stopped” Her eyes immediately snapping open to look into the most breathtaking pair of Sliver eyes she had ever seen. “Oh … um .. I … Sorry” Was all she could manage before He laughed and started to get up.
They never made it up the compartment door burst open and masked man ran in wands drawn yelling a spell Hermione never heard before. She screamed then everything went black…
