Nightmare Revisited

The second war had left both sides broken. Harry Potter had defeated Voldemort, but only by grabbing his shoulders and flinging them both into the vale down in the Department of Mysteries. He was held up as a hero, and the wizarding world was getting back to normal.

Josephine Bennett had been in the same year of the war’s hero, in Ravenclaw, and had dated Fred Weasley for some time before and during the war. In her 7th year Hogwarts was taken over by death eaters, the teachers thrown into the Chamber of Secrets, which was turned into a prison. Snape, was of course the one exception, and remained the potions professor. Voldemort put up protection on the school and kept all the students inside. Three students had not come back that year, Harry, Ron and Hermione were out searching for all of the pieces of Voldemort’s soul so they could kill him. Death eaters ran amuck in the school, raping students, beating them, killing---

Josephine had always been Severus Snape’s secret fantasy, and when Voldemort found this out, he told all other death eaters they weren’t allowed to touch her. Later in the year, Snape held a wand to Jo’s mother’s throat and blackmailed Jo into marrying him. He then erased her mother’s memory and he took her and married her. She continued to date Fred Weasley, but after Snape found out she never saw him again.

“Make me dinner Josephine”

“No”

“Make me dinner Josephine”

“Bite me”

“That can be arranged”

Jo rolled her eyes at her husband. He had given the house elves the week off, so they were alone in their huge house in the middle of no where. Four years since the war… and no one thought he might have forced her to marry him. No one thought he might read ever letter she wrote and send out, or that when she saw her family he was always standing behind her- his wand pressed to her back. Jo looked out of the window behind her husband, though she looked as though he was staring at him. It was raining outside, and much to dark for dinnertime. Rain had always made her feel very trapped, her mother and stepfather never let her out during the rain. This was no different, ever day was like it was raining, she had no freedom, she was trapped inside his house. She had been his prisoner and no one realized it.

Of course, after four years you get used to someone, she had finally just accepted that this was her life, and she needed to make the most of it, not simply wallow in what could have been if he had died. She had actually grown to like her husband, he was very smart and someone who was nice to talk to- when he didn’t have a temper. Some days they would walk through the huge rose garden, or play chess for hours, or even curl up in each other’s arms and read a book…

But then suddenly, right as Snape was about to say something, there was a knock on the door. “Anyone there?!” called the people outside the door franticly, trying to make their voices heard over the pouring rain.

Snape glared at the door “Don’t answer it”

Josephine on the other hand go a very stubborn look on her face, stood up and walked to the door, ignoring her husband completely. She placed her hand on the large silver doorknob and opened it.

Standing in the doorway was someone she had not seen or heard from since the day she had gotten married. There, at Snape’s door was Fred Weasley. For a moment, all she saw was his face. A fantasy played quickly in her mind that he had come to get her--- everything rushed back to her. She didn’t like Snape at all, she hated him. She wanted to leave now! It was then her eyes ran over the whole seen before her. Fred was wearing a black and white suit and it was then she noticed the women behind him, wearing the most beautiful wedding dress she had ever seen, and she was sure both of them looked picture perfect before the rain had destroyed their clothing.

Jo gulped, “Fred?”

Fred’s eyes grew wide, “Jo?!”

The woman smiled, “You two know each other? This is great!” she turned to Jo, “Can we please come in? The car we were driving in broke down and we need a phone, or an owl…”

Fred and Jo were not able to speak.

Snape on the other hand stood up and saw Fred and Jo’s faces and smirked, “Of course you can come in, your soaking wet.”

“Thank you” said the women, “I’m Alexis.”

Jo moved out of the way and Fred and Alexis walked in.

Snape just waved his hand, to say it was no problem, “I’ll go get one of the guest rooms ready, the storm has actually damaged our phones, and no owl could fly in this weather.” Then he looked at Jo, “Aren’t you going to offer our guests a seat”

She just nodded and led them to the sitting room and the couple sat down on the couch together; Jo had to admit she hated how close they were sitting. She looked over the women, Jo noticed how different the two of them looked. Alexis was at least two inches taller then Jo, and had skin that had a healthy tan glow about it. She had bleach blonde, short and straight that had layers to frame her face and her hazel eyes. While she was thin, she had no curves about her expect for her bosom. Josephine on the other hand had very long wavy golden brown hair, bright blue eyes, and skin that was like moonlight. She was thin but curvy, and normal height.

Jo sat on the chair across from them, “So, um… Fred, who is your… wife?”

Alexis grinned wide, “My name is Alexis, we just got married today. We were off to our honeymoon, and the car broke, we of course decided to do things the muggle way and left our wands at the burrow, as well as our owls and everything…”

Jo just nodded, “Congratulations. For the getting married part.”

Snape walked back in, “How about some drinks?”

Jo quickly stood up, wanting to leave the awkward situation. She went and got four glasses of wine, a frown on her face and she shook it off. “Fred is happy, he moved on, just like you had started to… be happy for him damn it” she told herself before going back to the sitting room.

“Thank you so much, Josephine, Severus. This really is very kind.” Alexis told them when Jo came back in the room.

“Well, this is the only place in miles, and we wouldn’t send you off.” Snape replied. Jo gave him a look of disbelieving. She knew that if he and Jo hadn’t been fighting over dinner, and the couple didn’t make Jo uncomfortable, he would have had no problem sending them away.

Everyone made small talk, polite conversation as they drank their wine. Jo and Fred pretty much said nothing and when they did speak it was in as few words as possible, which started to make Alexis feel slightly unconformable as well.

“How about I take you two to the guest room?” Jo asked after the wine was gone and the silence was getting unbearable.

“Yes,” Fred said quickly, standing up.

Alexis stood up as well, and Jo led the couple to the mansion’s best guestroom. It was full of deep reds and had a huge and conformable bed. “I hope this is okay.”

“It’s beautiful, your entire house is beautiful Josephine,”

Jo really wanted to say that it wasn’t hers, and that she hated the entire house down to the last wood panel and doorknob, but just nodded.

“If you need anything, our bedroom is upstairs, the one with the large wooden doors, don’t hesitate to knock. Out staff isn’t here this weekend.”

“Thanks Jo,” said Fred

Jo nodded and left the room and sighed deeply. She began to walk to the library so she could be alone and curl up with a good book when she felt a cold hand on her shoulder. “What do you want Severus?”

She felt him start to kiss her on the back of her neck, she pulled away quickly. “Stop it.”

Snape glared at her, “What? Fred is here and suddenly you can’t stand to be touched by me?!”

Jo turned and glared at him, “Don’t you understand?! I could NEVER stand to be touched by you! NEVER! Whenever you got a rise out of me, it was because I pretended you were Fred!” she was lying, because seeing Fred after four years had brought back too many memories. She also wanted to make Snape feel bad, or at least remember that she would never love him, because her heart was given away to Fred in her 6th year.

Snape picked her up harshly and threw her over his shoulder and took her to their bedroom as she screamed and tried to get away from him. He threw her down on their bed, she was on her stomach and with a wave of his wand they were both naked and he went into her harshly and at an angle he knew was horrible for her. She thrust in and out of her as hard as he could, his hands scrapped her back hard. Josephine was reminded of the first time he had raped her, before they got married, the first time he found out she was spying. Before that, no one but Fred had been inside of her.

She tried to fight him off her for the first time in years, and he repaid this action by hitting her as he held her down. He pulled himself out of her and she had the hope it was over, but instead he turned her onto her back, pulled her legs apart and waved his hand and her feet were chained to the bed, spread eagle. He then grabbed the candle on the bedside table and poured candle wax on her breasts and stomach and cut her with his fingernails as well as bit her next so hard she bleed. She continued to scream and plead for him to stop. She tried to promise him things, say that she didn’t mean what she had said. She even lied and said she did love him, which he punched her as hard as he possibly could, which made her black out.

Alexis started walking up to Snape and Josephine’s bedroom to ask them where the towels were, so she could take a shower and wash out all the hairspray. She heard one of Josephine’s screams and got frightened that someone was robbing the place so she ran to the door and opened it just slightly to see the scene before her, not sure why she did so, but she just wanted to make sure. Her eyes widened and she started to shake and then she closed the door as quickly as she could and ran downstairs to the guest bedroom to find Fred as fast as she could.

Jo passed out before Snape had finished, he stopped beating her at this point but continued to rock in and out of her until he was done, he pulled out of her, pushed her away from him and got under the covers and fell asleep.

Later that night, Fred crept up to their room, and saw Jo bloody, beat up and shaking in her sleep. Without thinking, he went over and took her in his arms and left the room with her.

Snape remained asleep.

Fred took her down and layed her down on the bed in the guest bedroom next to the one him and Alexis were staying in. He had found the room while he and his new wife were on the search for towels. He tucked Jo into the bed and kissed her on the top of her head and then headed to his own room.

Fred then went to talk with Alexis, “You remember, I told you I was engaged before?” and he then told her about Jo. How when she was only eighteen she was forced to marry her potions professor, because the school was taken over by death eaters and she had no choice. He told his new wife how for the first month of Jo being married he had stayed away from her, before he realized he couldn’t any longer. He told Alexis how he and Jo used to sneak around, and how he would promise to get her away from Snape somehow. How he would kill Snape for her. How one day, everything would be perfect. He took a deep breath, “And then one night, Jo and I were laying in bed together, planning our escape to America when Snape came in the room…” He took another sigh, remembering. “I never spoke to her again, but I did get a glimpse of her when she graduated”

Alexis was amazed, and sad “Poor thing.” Fred wasn’t sure if his new wife was talking about him, or if she was talking about Jo. In his mind, he could understand both of them. Though in the end he decided not to ask which she meant.

Fred nodded and sighed, and he and his new wife laid down and Alexis finally went to sleep. Fred thought about it for a moment, and then went into the other guestroom and laid down next to Jo and ran his fingers threw her hair, “If only I had known where to find you… I didn’t even know you were alive…” he whispered.

Jo turned, now awake, and looked at Fred “Where am I? And what are you doing?”

“The guest bedroom next to the one I’m in, and I’m checking on you”

She shook her head, “No, get back to Alexis… she’s your wife.”

“I want to say here with you,” he looked at her lovingly.

“Don’t you love her?”

“Of course I do Jo. I love her so much… but she’s not my true love. I gave up on my true love three years ago. And yet, here she is again”

“Fred, stop it!”

“Why?”

“Please, just go back to your wife” she said as she tried to sit up, though she winced from all the pain Snape has caused her that night.

Fred pulled her back down, his hand gentle, and shook his head. “Jo, why can’t I stay with you?”

“Your married!”

“So! You were married for a year before the two of us finally gave up!”

“Snape almost KILLED you Fred! You have found someone you care about, someone who is yours, please, just forget about me like you had before your car broke down today.”

“Jo, I love you so much…”

“You love Alexis, Fred. I see it in your eyes. She’s you wife, and the two of you are going to be happy and I’ll be damned before I let myself ruin it for the two of you! Now, I have to get back to my husband.”
Fred looked away from her, “Does he hurt you like this every night?”

She shook her head, “No he doesn’t.” She was telling the truth.

“What should I tell Alexis?”

“Tell her… tell her that Severus and I were just having fun. The screams were fake, a fetish thing or something. And that she was mistaken that it was real pain.”

“You want me to lie to a wife I have had for less the twenty-four hours?”

“Yes.”

“I will then,” Fred leaned down to kiss her and Jo turned her head.

“I’ll see that your car is fixed by the time you wake up, please don’t think about me anymore. And if you do… just… don’t think about me like this.”

“Okay.” Fred got off the bed and paused, “Will I ever see you again?”

“I highly doubt it Fred…”

“I love you Jo, that is never going to change.”

“I… I… I love you too. I always have. Always will.”

Fred left the room to go back to his wife, he tried to forget the conversation he and Jo had just had, but couldn’t. “I love her so much”

Alexis smiled in her sleep, “I love you too Fred.”

Fred smiled, and climbed into bed with his wife and pulled her close to him, playing with her blonde hair.

Jo on the other hand went back to her nightmare, she opened the door, and there was Snape, sitting on his armchair, waiting for her. She just stood there in the doorway.

“Ruin his marriage like you ruined ours you little slut?”

She just shook her head and got into the bed, “No. His marriage, unlike ours, has a chance. I would never ruin it.”

“They will be gone before you wake up tomorrow”

“I guessed as much”

“You will never see your precious Weasley again, be sure of that.” He got up, walked over to her and pulled her into the room and closed the door.
