Back To Hagwarts
Author’s Notes: Here it is, the sequel you've all been waiting for. What does the future hold for Harry and the others? How will Hunter's new abilities help them? What is going on in the War and will Voldermort ever be defeated? You'll just have to ready to find out.
A large tiger silently stalks through the night forest stopping in the clearing. Its sharp ears detecting the sound of approaching hooves as it pauses. Sniffing the cool night air the tiger learns that only three of the herd draw near. Rising up on its hind legs, the tiger begins to change shape into that of a young man.
"I recall telling you to leave me alone, Flicka." The young Bastet says as he reaches for his clothes hanging from a low laying branch. His clawed hands slowly and gracefully guide his leather pants up his lower body as he watches the Centaurs carefully. He is not the same young man the Centaurs had met a few months ago.
He had put on fifteen pounds of solid muscle and grown nearly six inches. His short brown hair was now a flowing mane that reached below his shoulder blades. But it was the other features that scared them. Features like his clawed hands, his fanged smile, his pointed ears and his eyes. Those eyes that had once been a warm mahogany were now the yellow slitted eyes of a cat.
"We will not suffer your kind in our forest any longer." The Centaur says. The young Bastet continues to watch them as he dresses. "You will leave this forest tonight and never trespass here again."
The young Bastet grins as he pulls his shirt over his head, listening to the other Centaurs move slowly around to either side of him. Once his shirt is tucked into his pants he tucks his long hair behind his pointed ears as he listens to the sounds of the forest. "I think you'll suffer my presence awhile longer." He kneels down and begins to tie his boots as his muscles tighten in preparation of an attack. "You see I'm not ready to leave just yet."
The Centaurs move as one and draw their bows and ready themselves to let fly their arrows. The young Bastet laughs baring his fangs as a movement from the bushes catches his attention. "You might want to reconsider your surroundings Flicka." Standing slowly the young Bastet retrieves his jacket from the branch and slips it on.
"I think you're just a tad out numbered." he says. Leaning against a tree, he watches the new arrivals. The appearance of seven large cats not normally found in the forests of England cause the Centaurs to slowly lower their weapons and back away from the young man.
The young Bastet reaches down as a female panther walks up beside him. Gently scratching behind her ear, he grins as she purrs softly. "We will leave when we are ready to leave," he says as the other six animals growl. In addition to the panther there are three jaguars and three tigers, none of them seem in a particularly good mood. "Till then leave us be or become our next meal."
The Centaurs turn and hurry away from the clearing and its inhabitants. The panther pulls away and shifts into the form of a lovely young Asian girl about his age. "How dare you imply I would eat such a disgusting creature."
The young Bastet just laughs as his eyes admire the soft yet firm curves of the nude girl before him. "Easy Sakura," he says. "I was just trying to get rid of them." He reaches behind some bushes and tosses her a bundle of clothes. "Now put these on before you catch cold."
"Now Hunter," she smiles putting on her bra and panties. "If I didn't know better I'd swear you cared about me."
Hunter laughs as she pulls her jeans on. "Sakura dear," he grins pulling on a pair of leather gloves. "You're not my type."
"Really," Sakura asks as she glides slowly towards him while buttoning her blouse. "What type am I?" She asks seductively running a perfectly manicured nail along his jaw line.
"You my dear Sakura," He begins, giving her a fanged grin. "Are every bit the social butterfly. A high born lady who is TOO high maintenance for a simple guy like me."
The other six big cats just watch the two younger Bastet playfully tease each other. Over the past few months the two of them have become close and take pleasure in the friendly flirtation.
"And don't you forget it," she says blowing him a kiss. They both laugh and turn towards the other Bastet. "Thank you for showing us the ways of our people honorable teachers." She bows respectfully to them.
Hunter also bows. "Our time has passed too quickly but we must return to our other schools." The other six bow their heads then turn and walk away into the forest leaving them alone. Hunter and Sakura walk together through the forest, not fearing the creatures that dwell there. They reach the forest's edge and gaze at the castle looming in the distance.
"So that's Hogwarts." Sakura says staring at the Wizarding School. She turns to face Hunter and wraps her arms around his waist staring up into his cat eyes. "Forget about this place and come back to Hong Kong with me?"
Hunter gazes into her eyes for a moment then looks up at Hogwarts. "You know why," he says pulling slowly away from her. "I have to go back to her."
"Are you sure she'll accept you the way you are now?" She asks leaning against a tree. "You're not the same guy anymore. You're special."
Hunter closes his eyes and growls softly at the word. SPECIAL. A special cub of Seline. That's all anyone knows. None of them know why I am stuck like this or how to fix it. "I never asked to be special," he says. "All I ever wanted was to be left alone but I accepted that would never happen." He looks at her as he takes a pair of sunglasses out of his jacket pocket. "Since I can't have what I want I might as well finish what I started and return to the life I left."
He puts the sunglasses on and kisses her forehead gently. "If you ever need me," he says as he turns to walk towards the castle. "You know how to find me." He walks away from her and back to the life he head before they met.
The Welcome feast is well under way by the time he stands outside the doors to the Great Hall. he closes his eyes and says a silent prayer to both Seline and the King of Cats. Grant me strength for the task ahead and grant them understanding for what I have become.
Hunter opens the doors and walks into the Great Hall. All activity and conversation stops as all eyes fall on him. He smiles to himself at the attention his entrance draws but is careful to hide his fangs for the time being. He looks up to the teacher's table and notices two new faces. Professor Lupin has gone to speak with the other changing breeds and Snape is on the run. So that means one is the new DADA teacher and one is the Potion Master.
"Sorry I'm late." he says loud enough for his voice to carry without having to shout. "I missed the train." He turns and makes his way over to the Gryffindor table and joins his friends kissing his girlfriend as he takes the seat beside her. "Miss me?"
Their conversation is interrupted as Professor McGonagall walks up behind them. "Mr. Catiar a moment if you please."
Hunter looks up at her and nods. "I have no secrets from them," he replies politely.
Their Head of House considers his words then nods. "If you wish," she concedes. "Your attire and appearance are once again not in accordance with the schools dress code and your tardiness must be addressed."
Hunter looks up at her and nods. "I will need to speak with you and the Headmaster about my appearance after the feast." he says softly. "As for the rest," he shrugs. "How many points and how many days?"
"10 points for your being late and 25 points for your appearance." She informs him. "You will also receive an additional 2 days detention."
Hunter nods. "That brings my current tally for the year to 35 points lost and detention until Valentines Day." He chuckles softly. "Assuming I am permitted to hold off on my detentions until tomorrow night."
Professor McGonagall nods. "That will be acceptable." What has happened to him? He's not the same young man I remember. There's something different about him. "I shall inform the Headmaster that you wish a word with us." She turns and walks back to the teacher's table.
"Hunter," Harry asks leaning across the table. "What's up with the shades?"
Hunter smiles, again careful not to reveal his fangs. "I'll explain everything later." He looks around at the others. "Band meeting tonight when I get back." They agree eagerly and finish their meal before Ron and Hermione lead the first years up to the Tower. Hunter kisses Katie before heading off to his meeting.
On his way back to his dorm he runs across a group of Slytherin sixth years picking on a couple frightened Ravenclaw girls. The smaller girl looks like a first year and the other is Carla. Taking a quick look around he notices Cho racing down the hall towards them. This could be fun. Hunter walks over to the Slytherins slowly, acting every bit the tiger stalking its prey.
"Would you five care to explain to me why you're tormenting my little sister?" He says giving them a fanged grin. He removes his sunglasses allowing them to see his cat eyes as he leans against the wall casually. "Because I'm confused."
"You're..." Pansy Perkins begins but her words are caught in her thought at his new appearance.
"My little sister." Hunter finishes for her. He tucks an errant hair behind his pointed ear and continues to grin at them. His fangs shimmer in the torchlight as his slitted eyes wander over the sixth years. "Now 'm in a good mood so I'll just forget this ever happened provided that you leave," he pushes himself off the wall and stands straight up. "NOW..." his roar fills the hall as the Slytherins run for their lives back to their dorms.
Cho, Carla and the now petrified first year just stand there watching him, uncertain of what to do next. Hunter laughs as he puts his sunglass back on and covers his ear with his hair. He walks over to them and squats down in front the first year offering a hand up. "It's okay," he says in a warm friendly voice. "I'm not going to hurt you."
The girl backs away quickly and bumps into Cho's legs. "What are you?" she asks more scared of him then she had been of her attackers. She clings to the seventh year's leg crying hysterically.
Cho looks at Hunter and sees him backing away slowly. "Band meeting tonight," he tells her. He turns and walks off to his own Tower as Carla chases after him.
Carla takes his gloved hand in hers as they walk. "What happened to you?" she asks. He looks at her and sees the concern and love in her eyes. He can't help but smile at her. He tells her that he'll explain everything once they meet up with the others.
Author's Notes: What has happened to Hunter and what makes him Special? How will the others react when Hunter shows them what he looks like? Stay tuned to find out.
