Prologue...

On a cold and stormy night, a lone figure made its way across the wet and muddy ground. Its shadow streaked between the buildings, scurrying as swiftly, and quietly, as a lion stalking its prey.

The figure looked into one of the windows as it was passing by and saw a mother sitting with a young infant pressed against her bosom. The woman sat, slowly rocking the young babe to sleep, humming as she rocked.

A look of recognition flashed in the figure’s emerald-green eyes. The figure remembered this woman and her young child. The child was what the figure had been searching for.

A pang of longing shot through the figure, giving it the push it needed to finally go through with the plan. By midnight tonight, that child, would be with a family that could care for it and actually love it.

The figure pulled its hood back up, making sure that none of the fiery-red ringlets, contained underneath, could be detected.

The figure crept up to the back porch casting an almost silent Alohamora. The door opened with a soft click, emitting the figure entrance.

The figure snuck through the house, silently making its way towards the infant. The woman was taken care of rather quickly with a whispered Stupefy, rendering the woman unable to move.

The figure slowly scooped up the child, finally feeling the longing and loneliness ebb away. The figure ran from the house, as swiftly and silently as it had come, but with an extra piece of baggage in tow.

The last thing the figure saw, was the bushy brown-haired woman stand up and begin screaming for the young child that was no longer there.
