Merlin Must Hate Me

Disclaimer: I don't own the characters used in the story that you recognise. There are many that I do have to make up, though, seeing as it is an original (to me) location.

A/N: I hope you all enjoy this. There are going to be more chapters soon, and I hope to get them written and posted as soon as possible.

Enjoy!

Prologue - Obsession

I have no idea why she’s here. She was never interested in Dragons, as far as I know. She never liked being outdoors, she was more the person that would cling to the ink-splattered pages of her tomes. She shouldn’t be here, in Romania. Merlin must hate me, to send this piece of baggage to take care of, to teach, to lust after. Merlin must know of my infatuation with the witch, the infatuation in which I have been so deeply obsessed with since I was 24.

She’s here to haunt me, I realise, as she dusts herself from soot. My boss asked me to come to his office to meet the next recruit. I was not expecting Hermione Granger to end up in his office.

She looks up. “Charlie,” she says with a slight smile. A smile that shows that she is happy to be around someone that she recognises, never could it be a smile of teasing or lust—a smile that I wish she would one day bestow upon me.

“Hermione,” I grumble through my dry throat.

“Oh good,” my boss say. “You know each other already, this is great news!”

Oh yes, great news. I think I might hang myself out of the happiness overwhelming my soul.

I walk into the homey wizarding tent that I am to share with Charlie. It isn’t as nice as I would’ve liked, but it’s a nice little place to further my study of the dangers of keeping a Hungarian Horntail in captivity.

Charlie walks into the tent behind me. “So…” he starts while staring into space. “Fancy seeing you here.”

“Where’s my room?” I ask excitedly, bypassing the boring, ‘why are you here?’ talk.

“Down the hall and to the right,” he says. “My room is right across from yours, to the left.”

“Okay,” I say happily and run off towards my room to see where I will be living for the next six months.

A/N: Yes, it's very short, it's more of a 'if I get reviews, I'll continue' thing. So review if you want more of this!!
