Hermione Granger sat up in her bed ready to start the new day which would take her back to Hogwarts for her seventh and final year.
She stood and pulled on a clean pair of jeans and a tank top before heading down to breakfast.
Later she was walking down the Hogwarts Express carriage looking for empty seats when she accidently bumped into...
"Malfoy, can you watch where you are going next time," Hermione stated coldly.
"I was watching where I was going, it's not my fault you cannot keep your eyes open Granger," Malfoy replied snottily.
"Whatever Malfoy. Move so I can pass," Hermione stated rather rudely.
"You could always say please you know," Malfoy stated with his annoying smirk.
"I apologise O Mighty One. Would you please excuse me so I may pass," Hermione replied tiredly.
"Glad to see you finally realised," Malfoy stated as his smirk grew wider.
Hermione rolled her eyes and pushed past him, trying to ignore the tingles in her arm from where she touched him.
"I AM NOT ATTRACTED TO MALFOY," Hermione repeated to herself over and over.
The train ride had just begun, Hermione had finally met up with Harry and Ron.
"How was your holiday," Harry asked her.
"Peaceful! I wasn't around you two," Hermione said with a laugh.
Harry feigned hurt but smiled at her. He handed her a small package which she looked at curiously.
"What's this for?" Hermione asked.
"Late birthday present," Harry replied blushing.
"Oh my gosh. It's wonderful! Thank you Harry," Hermione said while placing a kiss on his cheek which made him go an even brighter shade of red.
Hermione looked down at the book Harry had given her, 'The Secrets of Hogwarts'. She had been wanting it for months but hadn't been able to afford it, she smiled as she began reading the book quietly.
Time passed quickly for the trio with Hermione reading and Harry and Ron discussing Quidditch.
Soon the lunch trolley arrived and each of them chose a Pumpkin Pastie and some Pumpkin juice for their lunches.
They sat back full from their lunch just enjoying the silence which unfortunately would not last long.
The carriage door slid open to reveal Draco Malfoy, closely followed by Crabbe and Goyle.
"Well well if it isn't Potter and the Weasel," Draco stated with a sneer.
"Shove off Ferret," Ron said angrily as he stood up red faced but Hermione stood in his way.
"It's not worth it Ron," Hermione told him with a hand on his shoulder.
Ron nodded and sat down.
Draco sniggered and said loudly, "I think he's Grangers bitch".
Crabbe and Goyle grunted (that was their attempt at laughter).
"No, Hermiones right Malfoy. You are not worth it," Harry stated looking out the window of the train at the passing countryside.
"At least you are learning to control that rabid weasel," Draco said with a sneer as he turned to leave.
"You know Malfoy, you aren't a child anymore," Hermione stated.
"Your point being Granger?" Draco asked as he turned around with a particularly nasty sneer.
"Stop acting like one," Hermione answered back.
"I've refrained from calling you a mudblood, that's as nice and you're going to get," Draco stated before stalking off, Crabbe and Goyle close behind.
Hermione shook her head as she thought to herself about the fact that any confrontation with Malfoy always left her so mad she wanted to scream.
