Disclaimer:Sadly, I do not own Harry Potter or any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. However, i do take credit for my orginial characters that are in the story.

Summary: Its the summer before sixth year and things are about to change dramatically. Nothing will never look the same again. No one will be the same. What everyone thought was true is about to be tested. A new light is about to shine and long forgotten truths are about to unfold.

Warning: rated for dark scenes, possible abuse, and anything else my creative mind comes up with.

A/N: As I was rereading this story i discvered that I did not like the way it was going. There really was no direction the story was heading into and it seemed just way to confussing. So i am rewritting it and even decided to change how it is to go. The characters have remained the same for the most part. Hoe everyone likes this version a lot better than the other. I know I do. Let me know what you think.

The stars shined high above the rocky cliff, giving off a soft silver glow to the darkened sky. High upon the cliffs, a young girl stood. Her long ebony black hair hung loose down her back, curling at the ends. Her hair was so dark that it nearly matched the dark sky. Her skin was a soft pale, as if she had never seen sunlight. Her eyes shined the same silver as the moon. She stood tall and regal, as if she had been born to a higher social standing. Her gaze scanned the horizon as she gave a soft sigh. The wind blew but it did not bother her. Her dark cloak hung off her shoulders, showing off her deep red top with black lace work. The shirt had no straps and revealed her flat stomach. She wore black leather pants that shaped her form but still loose enough for her to move in. She had on a pair of black leather boots with a soft soul to muffle any noise. At her throat was a pendant in a Celtic design. The symbol hung on a lace choker and was a way to show her status among her clan.
She listened as the waves crashed against the rocks below as she continued to gaze out across the ocean. She felt another’s approach but did not acknowledge it. The dark figure approached slowly and soundlessly. When the figure reached her shoulder, she turned t face it. The figure placed a hand on her right shoulder. She glared into a pair of eyes matching her own.
“I’m not going.” She stated simply.
“We have discussed this. I have some business to take care of and I want you safe.” H e said to her. He was taller than her and wore a matching pendant at his throat. He was dressed in more of casual attire. He held more power than many believed and only those closest to him could feel the power pouring out of him.
“The clan can protect me. They have before.” She stated.
“No, not here they can’t. The call just went out. The clan needs time to arrive and settle in. Now, I have some people here that will protect you. You will go with them.” He said.
“You trust them even after everything you were put through. How can you even trust their kind?” she said growing angry.
“I can trust them. They helped me when I needed it the most. They helped save you.”
“I will never trust their kind.”
“You are my only child, my heir. You need to stay protected at all times. This means no matter who is guarding you. Besides, Auaraya is going with you. You will be safe with them.”
“Their kind does nothing but offer false promises. They can never be trusted. After all you taught me to never let them close, to never trust their word on anything. “
“I want you to meet the ones who will be guarding you. They are waiting for us at the house.” He said glancing back behind them. A large mansion stood at a distance. One could not tell that the house matched a very large castle. It held more rooms than needed. The property itself ran for acres in every direction. The closest place to the mansion was many miles away. They only way to get there was t have special permission from the clan leader. It was the clan’s protection against enemies. Wards were put up to help keep intruders out. It was the safest place around. Nothing could match the protection around the mansion and its property. The beach below was also part of the property and ran for miles.
She glanced out over the ocean and gazed into the horizon. They had only arrived just the night before. She had yet to settle in the new house. She sighed and shook her head. She refused to go with any of their kind. They were nothing but trouble. She had only met a handful of them but all of them left them running for the next place to hide. She had travelled all her life and had never stayed in one place for too long. Once they settled in an area for too long, their kind would track them down and attack them. She hated running and wanted to stay in an area that she could call home. She thought back to all the times her father risked his life for her and seeing her friend with both of her parents. She listened as her father kept on about trusting the two he knew. To her, it was all just a front and they would betray them just like all of their kind did.
“I know you are tired of moving around. I am hoping this is permanent but there is someone I have to face before we can fully settle anywhere. “
“This is about your mate that you do not want me to meet.” She stated as her gaze returned to his.
“I do want you two to met but you have to remember that I was betrayed and do not know what will happen. The pull has become too strong to resist.”
She just glared at him as she responded, “I will not go with mortals, even their kind.”
She took off in a dash across the lawn and into a section of the woods. He sighed as he watched her go. It was not the first time they had argued and it was not the last time. He knew she never left the safety of the clan but this was something that had to change. He wanted her to learn her full heritage but it would not work if she refused to even learn from them. He turned and headed back to the mansion, giving his daughter time to calm down before going after her.

Marquis approached the front doors and walk on in. He felt a warm glow against his skin from where his amulet lay. It was the magic at work identifying who was coming in. Once inside, he headed down the hall to where his two guests were located. He had wanted them to be comfortable and relaxed. It had been years since he had seen them and did not know how well they would take to the task at hand. He had some lingering doubts that his daughter had brought up. He was not sure if he was ready to trust their kind ever again but something had to be done about the pull. It was too dangerous to continue on the way he was but yet it was even more dangerous for them to stay. All of these thoughts vanished as he reached the lounge room. He entered the room and looked around. The lounge had a fireplace at the far wall and a few chairs and couches around it. It was made for comfort. There was a drink bar on the far left side of the room and bookcases on the right. It was a cozy room for anyone to relax in. His guests were located at two different ends of the room. They seemed to be mirror opposites. One stood tall by the fireplace. He had black hair and dark eyes and wore black robes. The other was a tall blonde with hazel eyes. They both had a certain appeal to them that left a mysterious impression. The blonde was by the drink bar filling a glass. Both sets of eyes locked onto him as he entered the room.
“I see by your lack of company that you were unsuccessful.” The blonde said smirking as he made his way over with a second glass. He handed the glass to Marquis before sitting on a couch.
“She does not agree with me. She feels safer among the clan, not that I can blame her.” Marquis said sitting in the closet chair and took a drink, drinking it all in one go.
“It is only because of your trust issues that led her to believe that we are all bad.” The dark haired man said as he sat beside the blonde.
“Is it bad that I feel safer among my clan than I do among your people? Was it right of my mate to betray me the way he did? Is it really all my fault as to why my daughter feels the same that I do about such matters or that trust among my kind is very rare to anyone outside the clan? He was a part of the clan and he throws it all away by almost succeeding where many have failed.” Marquis said as his anger and frustrations began to pour out of him. There was a knock at the door before it opened to reveal another member of the clan. His eyes gazed to the two guests, hardening before they landed on Marquis.
“Is all well, Milord? I felt your power rise.” The man said.
“Yes. I am fine, just angry. Please send for Auaraya to report to me.” Marquis said as the man nodded before leaving.
“I thought you and your daughter were the only ones here?” The blonde asked.
“Well, us and our bodyguards. I have three while my daughter has two. Now back to business. Which one is the closest to him?”
Both men looked from one to another not sure how to respond to it. Neither knew if they were truly on his good side or not. It was varying from day to day.
“Lucius would be the best choice. I am being under watch as a spy, which I am not.”
“I don’t know about that Severus, since you created that potion to give the Dark Lord his human looks back, he has come to favor you more.” Lucius said.
“You did what? What do you mean his human looks?” Marquis said, not liking where the conversation was headed.
“Well, he died and came back. He was brought back in human form but he had lost all human appearances in his face. He was more snake like than human. The potion I created was to help restore his looks back to that of a human.” Severus explained.
“I must have been further out of touch than I realized. Tell me everything that has come to pass. I need to know before any more surprises head my way.”
“To start with, since he has been back, he has been more destructive than before. I fear that he has wondered to far from the path to be recognized. It is almost madness to follow him anymore. He is determined to kill a boy for being his downfall the first time around. He has come to enjoy torturing and killing. “Lucius said not keeping anything back. He may have feared the Dark Lord but no one realized how powerful Marquis really was. He was something to fear more.
“So he has already broken vows on top of his betrayal. How far will he go, I wonder.”
“There is more to it.” Severus said as he held Marquis’s gaze.
“What could be worse other than what has been said?”
“Since I gave him that potion, he has made it a frequent habit to have a different…. ah… person in his … ah… bed every night.”
Marquis saw red as he processed this new piece of information. He knew that the betrayal ran deep but he did not realize just how deep. Just when he was about to answer someone walked into the room. A young girl with fiery red hair and crystal blue eyes entered the room. She stood tall and looked to be around seventeen or eighteen. She wore spiked heeled boots that reached to her knees, a pair of short blue jean shorts, and a light thin strapped shirt. She crossed her arms just under her chest giving a little extra boost there. She did not smile at first as she gazed at each person in the room. Marquis just beckoned her on into the room. She slowly made her way to him before kneeling just in front of him. He reached down and lifted her up until she was standing. He smiled at her causing her to look at him confused.
“I didn’t do it!” she blurted out.
Marquis stared at her for a minute before he asked. “What is it that you didn’t do?”
“Oh, uh, nothing.” She said trying to sound innocent.
“That usually means you did something but we will get back to it later. I need you to go after Hyacintha and bring her to me.” Marquis said.
“Why didn’t you just send one of the other guards after her?” she asked.
“Because she was rather upset with me when she took off. You know how she can be.”
“So in other words, she hid herself from you and I am the only one who knows where she is at.”
“Too true. Now please bring her here no matter how hard she fights you.”
“Yes. I at least have permission to tie her up and throw her over my shoulder to get her here?”
Marquis chuckled. “Auaraya, you can do whatever you must to bring her in.” Auaraya nodded and left the room leaving the guests wondering what was going on. After the door closed he turned his gaze back to his guests. He took off his pendant and tossed it across the room at Severus. Severus caught it before it could hit him in the face. He looked at the pendant before looking confused at Marquis.
“I want you to deliver a message to him for me. Tell him someone from his past wanted to speak with him. Give him that so that he will know who it is. Maybe wear it until he sees it. Make him see it. I want him to come here in the center of the clan in order to answer for his crimes.” Marquis said as he stood up and walked over to the fireplace. He leaned against the mantel as he thought about all he had learned about the recent past. He could feel the pull of his mate as if he needed him. It was too painful to continue on the way he had been. He knew if something did not change he would not last. He was working on his last reserves. All the clan could feel it, although he acted like it was not affecting him as much as it was.
“What about your daughter? Where would I take her if I give him this news?” Severus asked.
“She will stay here until you complete your task, and then she will go with you. Just keep her out of the fools’ reach. He does not need any more pawns in his stupid war. No matter what, her safety comes first. You will take one of her bodyguards maybe even both of them with you.” Marquis said as he faced the two.
“She could always stay at my place until the task is completed. That way if he decides to come here as soon as the message is delivered, then there would not be any surprises.” Lucius spoke up.
“That is a possibility, but she will be fine here. I want her close…” he was cut off by the door slamming open. Hyacintha stormed into the room as she glared at her father. “Speaking of my daughter, gentlemen meet Hyacintha.”
Hyacintha sat in the chair her father had abandoned and crossed her arms she was more than angry. She had calmed down a little but the glare in her eyes left the two guests shuddering. At that moment, there was no denying just who she was related to. Her eyes were a deep purple with traces of red in them. She just nodded her head as her father introduced her to his guests.
“Hyacintha, these are the two that will be looking after you. You are not going with them just yet but I wanted you to meet them. Severus will be the one responsible for you so you better not cause any trouble for him.” Marquis began. “After they leave, we will need to discuss just what you and Auaraya have been up to. “ Marquis smirked at his daughter.
“Wha…?” Hyacintha’s eyes widened as she realized she had been caught. Her attention focused on her father. Auaraya held a similar look to her friend. They were so busted.
