Prologue
There you have it, my very first fanfic. Not completely finished, but next chapters are up for editing and will be posted soon. I had a blast writing it, I hope you enjoy reading it.

Prologue
“That’s impossible!” A loud voice scattered the silence in Dumbledore’s office.
“Remus, please…let me try to explain this to you.”
“There is not much explaining to do, is there? It all seems to be perfectly clear. And everybody knew this, except me?”
“No Remus. Nobody knew of this, except those few who needed to know. We needed to make our utmost efforts in order to protect you. If there had been another way….” said Dumbledore with sincere regret in his voice.
“And what happens next? What can I do to protect the secrets you are obviously trying to keep so desparately? Why must they remain a secret?” said Remus Lupin.
Albus sighed as he heard Remus snap the words at him.
“Because it is for the good of both of you. I will try to get her into Hogwarts as soon as possible, where she will remain under my protection. The Order will be notified when the time is there, and that will be soon enough. In the meantime I will try to benefit from her skills as much as possible. There is no doubt she is a powerful witch. Her soul is scarred, but I hope in the end she will turn out just fine. I hope,” Dumbledore puased for a short moment, “I hope that Hogwarts will finally be the save haven for her she needs so desperatly.”
“Where is she? I mean, where is she at this present time?” asked Remus.
“Working on an undercover mission for the Order, mostly investigating rare herbs that appear to be common in the Muggle world, but hold great magical powers when applied correctly.” Dumbledore replied.
“Is she already a member? But have you screened her?! It is common knowledge that she has a preference for dark magic! We should be careful with who we take on board, and who not!” Remus’ voice sounded near to shouting, and he felt a small glimpse of dissapointment for his otherwise so respected headmaster, and not to forget, his friend.
“Remus, you trusted me on my decision to get Severus on board, now please trust me on this one. I need your support more than of all people.”
“Fine Albus. I will trust you on this one. Please try to keep me informed as I am on my way through Europe?”
“I will my dear friend, I will. You have my word. But now you really have to go. Have a safe trip, and I will see you next year.” Albus embraced Remus for a short while, and returned to his usual seat behind his desk.
He stared outside of his window and noticed the redgolden rays of the late July sun running over Hogwarts’ fields. Outside the temperature was still hot, but the walls of the castle kept the rooms comfortably cool. Only a few more weeks left before the new school year…
