A new beginning

Disclaimer: It belongs to J.K. I’m just barrowing it.

Summary: 7th year. Hermione catches Ron cheating on her, and who should be there to help pick up the pieces? The new DADA teacher. This story will be AU. I don’t like the events that happened in the 5th or 6th book.

Rating: NC-17 for sexual situations, possible violence, and anything else I can think to throw in.

A/N: I also have another story, Once Bitten, Twice Shy, that I will be continuing, along with this one. But after seeing GOF, I had this idea, and had to write it. Anyway, on with the story.

Chapter One:

It was the first day back at Hogwarts, and the beginning of their final year at school. Hermione was sitting in the common room, in front of the fire, reading her Standard Book of Spells, Grade 7. As usual, she wanted to learn as much as she could a head of time. She had all ready read and memorized everything for Potions class, knowing that Snape would try everything in his power to make her feel stupid.

Looking up from her reading, she noticed everyone was there, except for Ron. She smiled, thinking about him. They has been dating for the better part of a year. Oh, they still had their differences, and their rows; but it always seemed to work out in the end. Usually from Harry getting in the middle of it and talking sense into one or the other. Usually Ron. Since he flew off the handle about everything. Putting her book down, she got up and walked over to Harry, where he was playing a game of Exploding Snap with Seamus.

“Harry,” she began, “Where’s Ron?”

“I don’t know,” he replied. “I haven’t seen him for the last half hour. Said something about talking to one of the teachers about something. I wasn’t paying much attention. I was writing to Sirius.”

Sirius Black, Harry’s godfather, had been found not guilty at his trial last fall, after the capture of one Peter Petegrew, A.K.A Wormtail, after the defeat of Voldemort.

“Hmm. I’m betting I knew who it is.” She said with a smile curving her lips. “Can you believe he’s our new DADA teacher? Even though Ron called him the enemy in our fourth year, he’s always been his favorite Quidditch player. I’m surprised he gave that up to come teach.” Hermione realized she was babbling and that neither Harry nor Seamus were paying attention to her, so she got up and walked to the portrait hole.

“I’ll be back later. I’ll go look for him.”

Clambering out of the portrait hole, Hermione went in search for him.

She went down the stairs, easily jumping over the trick step that Neville always seemed to get stuck in. Turning right at the end of the hallway, she went past the Transfiguration classroom and on down to the room used for DADA. Knocking on the door, she waiting for someone to answer.

“Come in,” she heard a deep voice say.

Opening the door, she poked her head in.

“Hello, Prof. Krum. I’m sorry to disturb you, but I was just looking for Ron and figured he’d be down here.”

“Hello, Hermione. You didn’t disturb me. And I’m sorry to say, but I haven’t seen Mr. Weasley since the start of the term feast.”

She frowned slightly. She was positive he would have been down here. Then she smiled at her new teacher.

“I see your English has improved. You pronounced my name right.”

“Yes,” he said with a small smile. “I’ve been taking lessons the last few years.”

“Well, it’s worked. Anyway. I better go find him before he gets into trouble. See you tomorrow for class.”

He nodded and said good-bye as she closed the door behind her and walked away.

‘Where could he be?’ she wondered to herself. Thinking maybe he went down to talk to Hagrid for some reason, she headed down another hallway that would lead her down to the double doors. Nearing the entrance, she heard noises coming from one of the unused classrooms. Assuming it was students being where they weren’t supposed to be, she went into the class room to tell them to get back to their common rooms. She was Head Girl after all.

She stepped into the room, and stopped dead in her tracks. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. There, Lavender, held up against the wall with non other than her boyfriend. Ron was positioned between her legs.

“What about Hermione?” Lav asked.

“She’ll never know.” Ron said, as he slid into her. “She’s always too busy with her nose stuck in one of her books to notice if I leave anyway.”

Hermione stood there for a few seconds more, watching as Ron pumped furiously into one of her ex best friends before she came to her senses. Pulling her wand out of her robe pocket, she pointed it at Ron’s back and whispered a very old and dangerous curse. Then she whispered another one and aimed her wand at Lavender.

Walking quietly out of the room, so as to not alert them to her presence, she smiled a smile as what could only be classified as something evil. It would only take about five minutes for her curses to go into effect. Plus she had another thing up her sleeve for the next day. Stumbling back into the common room, she went up to her bed, without talking to anyone, changed into her night clothes, fell into bed and burst into tears. They were tears of sorrow, grief, heart ache, and most of all, anger.

TBC: I will try to get another chapter out tomorrow, if not, the next day. Along with another chatper to my other story, Once Bitten, Twice Shy. And, as you can see, I left off Viktor's accent. It was too much of a pain to try to remember it. So, for this story, he's had english lessons.
