On with the story…

Chapter One: Sometimes Affection Clouds the Mind

Prince Harold Potter ran down the immense marble hall squealing like a capricious village girl. Bounding into his room and flopping on his bed with a squeak not able to control his recent feminine manner. With alacrity he ripped open the letter shredding off the Malfoy crest.

The letter read…

Dear Harry,

Dear Lord! Can you believe I\'m sixteen (not to mention you are still only thirteen, HA!) Don\'t worry I know that your birthday is in two weeks, but I’m still three years older right now! You won\'t believe it! My dad is going to sign a pact with Northern Slytherin! With that prat Tom Riddle\'s family! I know you think he\'s not so bad, but that\'s only because he pampers you! He wouldn\'t do that if you hadn\'t been nice to him when we were little! He was ugly and shy then all of a sudden he turns into a handsome stuck up prat who no one can stand! I hate his brainless ass!

Sorry Har, I got to go to my tutor. I\'ll write you tomorrow!

Miss you,

Your Dragon

Harry eagerly retreated to his desk, already plotting what to say for his response. He was habitually a tranquil and subdued boy but when Draco was involved Harry could hardly contain his adoration. Draco was obviously Harry\'s favorite person, and he loved him dearly. One would think they were they oddest couple, something that Ron and Hermione continually commented on. The only time they really talked about their feeling was in their letters. There wasn\'t a need when they were together; it would frankly be insulting for either of them to spend time explaining there current feelings since the other obviously knew how they felt. They were almost entirely opposite personalities, according to Hermione: two halves of one soul. One thing they shared was their oblivious nature pertaining their affections. Although incognizant to each other almost everyone could tell they were in love. Not, the cheap lust one would find in the cruel world, but real love, the purest, most sacred, not to mention a rare thing in the world. They didn\'t even really have the chance to lust after each other considering they hadn\'t seen each other since Draco was eleven and Harry nine. The relationship had started when Draco, Prince of Southern Slytherin, came across a very small boy with large green eyes being bullied by a local young duke. The current occasion was the annual Unition Ball of the countries, which was held every seven years. This child, \"Blaise\" as Draco recalled, was nearly twice Harry\'s size-Hardly a fair fight. If there was anything Draco despised it was people who didn\'t fight fair, and also someone picking on a person smaller than them? Currently Blaise was a double aggressor of Draco\'s Morals. Harry had always been very small and that bothered him, but obviously it bothered Blaise more. Even though Harry was putting up a valiant effort, Blaise still had the upper hand. Needless to say, Draco trounced Blaise, but when he turned expecting a \"thank you\" Harry yelled at him for interfering. Draco not only had morals, but he always adored a fiery personality. Since then, they were friends, and spent the entire visit with each other. When it came time to leave their parents literally had to split the two apart, both being carried by servants the held hands but were slowly dragged apart. Draco said he\'d write Harry and the relationship had lasted till now and they were very content with their letters.

Meanwhile, far across the country someone else busied themselves writing a letter. In a lush room of black and deep green a tall handsome man wrote frantically. Sitting by the snapping fire, bathed in a tawny light he searched for appropriate words to print on to his parchment. This handsome young man, frantically writing shared one thing besides being stunning with Draco Malfoy. That was of course his kind pen pal Harry Potter. Tom Riddle was writing another thorough letter to his cherished Harold. He often recalled when he met dear Harry. Tom had been thirteen, and Harry had been nine . . . right at the annual Unition Ball held in Slytherin . . .

Flashback

\"Oi! What are you doing here freak!? This is where the kids play, not the strange oddballs!\" a boy with squinting blue eyes

\"Ohhh don\'t say that, Blaise! He might do something \'EVIL\', my mom and dad say that the only reason his family stays in power is because they are so good at the Dark Arts.\" another boy with very crooked teeth teased.

\"Yeah! You’re just a twisted Necromancer! You give Wizards a bad name, you wretched creature!\" this time the offender was a large girl with stringy pale hair and a rather obnoxious voice.\"

\"Lay off, Blaise!\" a young Harry was walking up and glared at Blaise.

\"Oh, Tom I didn\'t know that you were under the protection of a nine year old. My sincerest apologies!\" jeering Blaise continued, \"Fine, let’s go guys, Im bored. Potter, we\'ll get you later.\" and with a hand gesture the group followed him.

\"Thanks.\" Tom muttered then looked askance at Harry, \"What do you want?\" \"Umm . . . what?\" \"What do you want me to do for you, as payment?\"

\"Ohhh. . . um. . .nothing. You just seemed like you needed help.\"

\"Really? You did that just to be nice?\" Tom said, not really understanding the concept of doing something without expecting something in return.

\"Well, yeah.\" Now Harry was confused how someone could be so distrustful, and not understand his logic.

\"Will you be my friend?\" though Harry was young the bluntness of the question startled him.

\"Sure. . .umm, yeah, I\'d like that.”

All the other kids were being mean to Tom because of his family\'s tie to the \"dark arts\", and they would pay. But not Harry, No, Tom would never cause Harry pain. He loved him far too much. In fact, He was a bit jealous of Draco, who he often saw at parties, for Draco got letters from Harry at least twice a week, while tom got letters only every so often. It infuriated him! But he knew it wasn\'t Harry\'s fault he was just being kind since that Draco boy was obviously infatuated, and sent him too many letters. He had to respond to them, Harry was just too kind not to. When Tom finished up his letter he made sure to comment about the party. He was so excited because he\'d be having one of his many parties in two weeks and Harry would be coming! Not only that but that blasted Draco wouldn\'t be coming, even more perfect. Tom wasn\'t the only one who was buzzing about Harry coming to the party, many were surprised he accepted, for Harry hadn\'t been seen by anyone outside of Gryffindor (his homeland) since he was nine. However what Tom did know the reason Harry had not been seen for so long. It wasn\'t something many people knew, Tom being one of the lucky few that did know. Harry had Wingely blood, a very rare blood, the reaction of his parent’s recessive blood mingling together. So he was hidden after the age of ten, and brought back out at his fourteenth birthday (two days prior to the party) because of his blood. Due to the blood he grew soft feathery white wings at ten which he wouldn\'t learn to retract till he was fourteen. And because of his blood, he grew very weak physically but, once he reached twenty one, he would inherit magical powers only bestowed to the prestige of mystic creatures. Tom recalled his last meeting with Harry. From his memory Harry was a rather plain looking boy with a small body. Tom didn\'t care though, Harry was sweet and innocent and when Tom finally offered to marry him (which he would do eventually) Harry wouldn\'t be able to turn down someone as beautiful not to mention older than him like Tom, right? Of course Tom would have his beloved. What Tom didn\'t know was that Harry wasn\'t so plain any more. Even more importantly Harry didn\'t like him as much as he thought.
