Disclaimer : I did not create, nor do I own, any of the characters. I just like to Imperio them into doing my will for a bit, obviously, for my own amusement, and not to make money.

After finishing her sixth year at Hogwarts, Hermione went home for a few weeks before joining up with her friends and the Order at headquarters, Number 12 Grimmauld Place.
“Welcome back, Hermione.” Dumbledore greeted Hermione as she entered the door to Grimmauld.
“Thank you headmaster,” replied Hermione.
“Come into the kitchen for a spot of tea. I was just about to pour myself a cup,” Dumbledore said as he took her bags and led her into the kitchen without waiting for her reply.
“Your friends are out with Molly, but they will return shortly. Surely you won’t mind keeping me company for a spell. Now, I want to hear all about your visit with your parents,” said Dumbledore as they sat at the kitchen table.
“Thank you,” Hermione said as Dumbledore poured her tea. “Well, I only had two days to visit with my parents openly. You see, my mom’s cousin, Delia, came for a visit and left only just this morning.”
“Wonderful, my dear, and how was the visit?”
“It was fantastic . . . and a bit unnerving.”
“How so?” asked Dumbledore sipping his tea.
“Well, Aunt Delia, as she likes to be called, is very much into herbal medicine. We spent days discussing herbal remedies, so that part was fabulous. What was unnerving was how much she resembled Professor Snape, not physically, mind you, other than the straight black hair. It was her mannerisms, the way she carried herself, and the way she spoke. ”
“I hadn’t seen my aunt since I came to Hogwarts and had almost forgotten how she can be. I am wondering if that is why I’ve always held a deep respect for Professor Snape, even if I didn’t believe us to be on our side for a while,” said Hermione abashedly.
“Quite understandable, my child,” stated Dumbledore.
“I love my Aunt Delia dearly. I find her abruptness and sarcasm very amusing, if only because I know there is no ill will intended. And beneath it all, her sense of humor is quite entertaining.”
“I say, I may have a hard time withholding myself from giggling at Professor Snape’s snarkiness now. I dare say he won’t find it very funny,” stated Hermione in all seriousness.
“Interesting. This is fascinating news, indeed,” said Dumbledore. “My dear, if you will permit me, I think I have an offer you will find most intriguing.”
“Please, go right ahead, headmaster.”
“As you know, Professor Snape has been working on several potions to help in the downfall of Lord Voldemort. We believe he has hit upon one that will do the most good for us. But he is having some difficulty with it. I propose that you assist Professor Snape in his research and development of this potion.”
“Oh. Headmaster, I don’t know what to say. I would be very honored to help the Order in any way.”
“Good. Good. Now why don’t you run along, your friends should be back any minute. I’ll speak to Professor Snape and you may begin assisting him after this weekend.”
“Thank you!” Hermione exclaimed excitedly as she rose and hugged Dumbledore.
And thus began Hermione’s potion’s research with Severus.

Blast that Dumbledore. He is solely responsible for my ruin, thought Hermione. He knew that my perceptions of Professor Snape had changed. That is why he offered me the potions assistant job with him. Dumbledore knew I would end up falling for Professor Snape. What a meddling old man, even if it was with good intentions. What an utter fool I was to think that Dumbledore had no underlying motives in getting me the assistant position with Professor Snape.
Well, its all fine and dandy except for one thing . . . Professor Snape would rather kiss a Flobberworm than look at me twice.
Oh! I don’t know why I spent so much time with him outside of working on the potion, except to torture myself.
Though, in the last moments of the final battle, when I had my arms around him and we were gazing into each others eyes, I could have sworn he was about to kiss me. But we were torn apart and now I will never know.
School starts in three days. I will be seeing Professor Snape on a constant basis. I can only imagine for now how difficult it will be to see him. As of now, I am frustrated and, well, frustrated in other ways, and there is nothing I can do about it! . . . Or is there?
Oh, Hermione, you are brilliant! I just hope I can figure out the right spell combinations before I go mad.
