The Reunion
Chapter 1.
The Reunion
Her heart was beating with anticipation, it had been 12 years since she had seen her favorite cousin Sirius Black. After being locked away in Azkaban for a crime he didn’t commit, Sirius had somehow managed to escape the dreadful walls of the horrid prison that had taken many years of his life already. Tonks now found herself standing outside the door of Number 12 Grimmauld place awaiting her reunion with her cousin.
Many memories lay inside this house, and inside her mind as well. The way he would torture her as a child, never letting her play with him and his “grown up” friends. Also, the way he always inspired her, and gave her faith that maybe, there was hope in this wizarding world, currently full of evil and hatred.
Tonks swallowed the last of her nervousness and made her way to the porch step of the large depressing old house. She lifted her hand to knock, when the door swung open, and before her stood Sirius black. So many emotions flooded her mind. She couldn’t decide whether to cry, laugh, smile, or just jump into his arms as she once did when she was in her youth.
“Nymphadora Tonks. Is that really my baby cousin in this grown up body”? Sirius asked with a slight smirk on his face.
Tonks cringed at the use of her first name, but found the voice in the back of her throat to respond. “ Yes, I’m afraid so.” She said with a slight smile.
Sirius embraced his cousin. She and her family had always been his favorite relatives. Especially, after his own mother disowned him for being a trader to the family. Meaning he was not a follower of Voldemort. After finally releasing her from his embrace Sirius gave Tonks a warm smile and led her inside the dark house.
“Congratulations on successfully becoming an Auror, and being inducted in the Order”. Sirius began as they walked through the dust, and damp smelling hallway.
“Thank you. It was quite a surprise seeing that my clumsiness didn’t kill me the first week of training.” Tonks had been known for her bad habit of falling over, and just being down right destructive.
Sirius gave a small chuckle. “Yes indeed it was a shock. Well, apparently there is a meeting with the Order tonight. There are a few people already in the kitchen.” Sirius opened the door to the kitchen.
Tonks heart seemed to stop beating. Some sort of curse or energy seemed to be pumping through her veins. The sight of him made her knees weaken and her palms sweat.
“Nymphadora, I believe you remember my good friend Remus Lupin.”
