One final look in the mirror and Starr considered herself ready to go downstairs. Guests
were already arriving for Harry and Draco's wedding. She was very curious to see who was
here...and apprehensive. Draco's mother, Narcissa, was going to be arriving at some stage
during the afternoon. Lucius had assured her that, while Narcissa was aware he had a
mistress, she had no idea who it was. This assurance didn't make Starr feel any better about
being in the company of her lover's estranged wife.
"Are you wearing anything under that dress?" An amused voice from the doorway to the
adjoining room startled her. Lucius was standing behind her before she'd even had the
opportunity to answer him. His hands were on her body, warm through the silk of the dress.
His thumbs ran over her nipples, teasing them to hard peaks. "Mmmm, no bra." The soft
words in her ear sent shivers of desire through her. She leaned back against him as his
hands ventured lower, over her hips and, finding the high split in the skirt, caressed her
thigh, finally slipping between her legs. "Nothing at all..." he murmuzed and bit the back of
her neck softly. It was left so temptingly bare, just a few stray curls escaping the elaborate
hairstyle that she and Hermione had been working on earlier in the morning. While one hand
stroked between her legs the other untied the bow at the back of her neck. The dress
slithered down her body, ending up in a violet pool at her feet. "Don't worry, I won't disturb
your hair." He pushed her gently over the dressing table and continuing to caress her, undid
the fastenings of his trousers, letting them fall around his ankles. His hands held her hips
while his cock pushed against her and she exhaled. "Don't tease."
He laughed and sank his length into her. She gasped, pushing back against his thrusts. He
was slamming into her, his climax building fast. She dared to lift one hand from the dressing
table and reached back to move his hand from her hip to between her legs. His fingers
flicked her clitoris, and he felt the shivers shoot through her. He rubbed it hard with two
fingers, feeling her body tense. She screamed and came, convulsing around him, causing
him to climax, emptying himself into her. He pulled out of her, turned her around and kissed
her, finishing up by biting and sucking on her neck. His breathing gradually returned to
normal. "Get dressed." he pulled his trousers up and refastened them, watching her walk
gracefully across the room to retrieve her dress. The silk felt cold now against her body and
she turned her back to Lucius so he could retie the bow that kept the dress on. A few extra
escaped curls, flushed cheeks, two bites on her neck and erect nipples visible under her
dress. Lucius smiled and brushed her mouth with a kiss. "You look beautiful."
"Thankyou." She just hoped he remembered that when faced with his wife and all the other
beautiful women that would be there.
Another kiss and his hands stroking her bare back, then he was gone. She slipped her
stiletto heeled shoes on, tying the leather strips around her ankles and left the bedroom.
She met Hermione and Ginny in the room where the wedding was to take place. Hermione,
looking radiant in the fourth month of her pregnancy, was wearing a pale blue strapless dress
and Ginny was beautiful in a simple dark green silk singlet and skirt. "Slytherin green Ginny?
Which one of Draco's wicked friends have you got your eye on?"
Ginny blushed prettily, but didn't deny the accusation. "Just keep your eyes open. You'll
know it when you see him." Hermione laughed. Her eyes widened as she looked at Starr.
"What are you wearing under that dress?"
Starr laughed and blushed. "Nothing, as Lucius just found out."
Ginny and Hermione exchanged glances and Hermione shook her head, looking over at
Lucius, who was socialising with some ministry officials. "He looks bored."
"He looks great." Ginny spoke up.
Starr looked over at him. "Yes, to both."
He looked over the shoulders of the men he was talking to and his eyes locked with Starr's.
She smiled and his gaze raked her body, an almost imperceptible smile appearing briefly,
before his attention was once again claimed by the other men. After a few brief words, all
four of the men turned to look at the three girls and smiled, agreeing with whatever Lucius
had said.
Ginny looked around the room. "I'm surprised at the amount of people here."
Starr agreed. Some of the people looked very influential. There were some of the Hogwarts
teachers, many of the students, family and friends of the Malfoys, Ron's family and friends of
Harry's. Draco and Harry had been worried at the reaction of yoneyone to their marriage, but
it seemed that their worries were unfounded. Everyone appeared to be accepting it. She
supposed it was fairly high profile. The Boy Who Lived and the Malfoy heir. Quite a
powerful combination.
"Do you know what Narcissa Malfoy looks like?" Starr asked Hermione. "Is she here yet?"
Hermione shook her head. "Not yet. Apparently she likes to make a grand entrance."
"Is she beautiful?"
Hermione shrugged. "Yes...in a way."
Starr nodded, looked up and saw two women enter the room. Both tall and slim with blonde
hair, they were obviously sisters.
"That's her." whispered Hermione. "The one on the left, in green."
Starr's heart sank as she and everyone else watched the woman. She was stunning. Her
perfectly styled blonde hair, flawless complexion and make up, perfect body in a figure
hugging, very expensive designer dress made Starr feel like a little girl playing dress-ups.
Her cold blue eyes swept the room, stopping when they reached her husband.
"Lucius...darling..." she drifted over to him and kissed his lips, her tinkling laughter reaching
Starr.
"Oh my God. Look at her. She's perfect." Starr took a deep breath. "Look how classy she
is. I feel like a scruffy little kid." She turned away when Lucius' arm slid around Narcissa's
waist, his hand resting possessively on her hip. "Fuck, I didn't think it'd hurt this much."
Lucius led Narcissa past the girls. Her gaze flicked over them. "Lucius, what pretty little
girls. Are they Draco's friends, or Harry's?"
Lucius didn't even look at them. "If they're pretty, Narcissa, they must be Gryffindor girls.
The Slytherin girls aren't noted for their beauty."
Starr watched him and brushed tears off her cheeks impatiently. Ginny touched her arm, a
comforting gesture that Starr appreciated. Hermione reached into her clutch bag for a tissue
and gently dabbed the smudged mascara from Starr's eyes. "No more tears." she smiled.
"I've heard Narcissa's a bit of a bitch. You don't want her to see you crying over her
husband."
"Yeah...I know. It's just..." she shook her head.
Hermione nodded. "Here comes Sirius."
"Ladies. Please allow me to escort you to your seats. Starr, are you okay?"
Starr mumbled something but refused to look at her father in case he should see that she'd
been crying. The relationship between Lucius and Sirius was still strained, neither
appreciated the other being involved in Starr's life. She felt Sirius' hand on her back as he
ushered them toward the front of the room. It suddenly dawned on Starr that, as Sirius was
Harry's godfather, they'd be sitting at the very front, on the same level as the Malfoys. She
hesitated and turned, intending to leave. Not wanting to see Lucius and Narcissa playing
"˜happy families'. Unfortunately, Snape was right behind her. Their eyes met and he raised
an eyebrow in question at her strange behaviour. She looked down and turned back to
Sirius, who was also concerned, continuing her way to their seats and the worst afternoon of
her life. Once she was seated next to him, Sirius looked at Starr. "What was that about?"
She shook her head. "Nothing."
He leaned back in his chair, casually, and stretched his long legs out in front of him. Starr
thought he'd finished questioning her and relaxed, trying to ignore Narcissa's voice coming
from the other side of her. "Please tell me you're wearing underwear." Sirius' voice startled
her.
"It's a bit late for you to be telling me how to dress, isn't it?"
"It appears someone has to. It looks like you forget certain items."
She glared at him, then looked away, straight at Narcissa, who was watching her. "Is that
Sirius Black's daughter. I haven't seen her since she was a baby. Remember, darling." She
touched Lucius' thigh in an intimate gesture.
Lucius glanced across at Starr. His eyes held no emotion, no indication that he knew her
intimately, no hint of the passion they'd shared half an hour ago. He nodded absently and
spoke softly to his wife. She in turn looked at Starr again. "Well, she probably is popular
with the boys. She's very pretty and her father was a bit of a devil in his day."
Narcissa's comments made Starr realise that the woman was at least seventeen years older
than her, but it also brought home the fact that Lucius was twenty two years her senior. He'd
seen her when she was a baby. She wondered when.
"You promised me your latest mistress would be here." Narcissa had dismissed Starr as of
little importance, and moved on to another topic. "All I see are school girls and some of our
closest friends."
"Maybe, then, you'll never find out."
Narcissa laughed, not at all fazed by that. "Oh, I'll find out. Someone here will know."
Starr couldn't hear Lucius' reply, but it made Narcissa laugh again. She was fed up,
watching Lucius and Narcissa together. They didn't love each other, it was all just a show for
everyone else. "Excuse me." she mumbled to her father and Remus and walked quickly
from the room, passing Harry and Draco.
"Starr." Harry called. "Where you going?"
She stopped and turned to face them, glaring at Draco, who took a step back at her
venomous look.
She closed her eyes and smiled weakly. "Sorry, it's not your fault."
"What's not?"
"Your parents..." she shook her head. "Don't worry about it. I'll deal with it."
"Are you coming back in?" Harry asked. "We want you there."
"No, I'll...um...watch from here. I can't go back in there and watch her pawing at him."
Draco laughed. "She's still his wife. She likes that. None of the problems, she gets to have
her...er
...lovers and she gets to show off with him on her arm when the occasion calls for it."
"But they don't even live together. Everyone knows it's a sham."
He shrugged. "That's just the way it is."
Starr nodded. "Get in there, get this done." She hugged them. "Good luck. Love
you...both."
She watched them walk to the front of the room, then moved out of the line of vision when
she noticed Sirius, Snape and Narcissa looking at her. She walked away from the room and
sat on the stairs. She'd always thought stairs were a good place to sit and think. How often
was this going to happen? How long was Narcissa going to stay? She knew Lucius had a
mistress. Was she going to be malicious and stay overnight. Many of the other guests
would be staying, so it wouldn't seem unusual. And if she did stay, would she sleep with
Lucius. He'd told Starr that Narcissa hadn't spent the night with him very often when they
were together, but she knew, deep down, that Narcissa wouldn't want him spending the night
with his mistress either. Starr knew she didn't want to stay around if Narcissa was going to
be hanging off Lucius' arm all night.
"So, this is where you've been hiding yourself for the past year." Snape's voice came from
the bottom of the stairs. "Are the rumours true?"
She shrugged. "You know me. Probably."
"You missed your final year of school to be Lucius Malfoy's...toy. Was...is it worth it?"
She nodded. "Most of the time."
"She'll never divorce him. She likes being a Malfoy too much."
"I don't care."
Snape actually laughed. "That's why you're out here."
"No. I...er...needed some air. It was getting too hot."
"Allow me to escort you back in there then?"
Starr smiled. Snape could be very charming when he wanted to be. He probably had quite a
fan club amongst the female students, not that any of them would ever admit to it. She was
almost tempted to take him up on his offer, imagining how displeased both Sirius and Lucius
would be. And there would be nothing Lucius could do about it, not until Narcissa left
anyway.
"No thankyou. We'd only disrupt the ceremony. It'll be over soon."
"Harry wants you in there."
"No!" she took a deep breath. "Oh God. I didn't think it would be this bad. She doesn't
even love him and I've got to watch her hanging all over him and pretend that it doesn't
bother me."
"She's only doing it to make Lucius' mistress jealous. She's got no idea who it is and it's
driving her crazy. You'll give yourself away, though, if you continue this behaviour. She's
not stupid."
"Yes she is. She left him."
"Don't underestimate her. She may not want him, but she doesn't want anyone else to have
him either. It's a little game they play, and I can't believe you're letting them play it with you."
"What choice do I have? I love him...and I think I'm pregnant."
Snape closed his eyes. Stupid girl. "Stand up." he placed his hand on her belly, spoke a
simple incantation and nodded. "Yes, you are. You were taught so many ways to stop that
from happening. Do you want something to get rid of it?" He didn't know why he'd asked
that question, he knew what her answer would be.
She looked at him as if he was crazy. "No."
