I have only tried to write one story. I got to chapter 8 and lost my muse and inspiration. Taking my expierence for what it is worth, here's my read on your ending...
You stopped the story in a place where I think it really became interesting. I can see if the story you wanted to tell was Hermione meets the real Severus and they fall in love deciding to face/overcome the odds, then the romance is in the acquiring and maintaining. Cool. But you took the HP universe to altered world that gives H/S the possibility of a life long world of chances and possibilities. By standing up to the uber lord Dumbledore and general standards of decency (most middle to high school teachers 'dating' their students are subject to a lot more than Dumbledore's judgement), you opened up the doors for H/S standing up for a new wizarding world. You implicated so many new storylines all in the same thread of your story: Harry and Draco take up the cause. Ronald and Millie stage a revolt during graduation alongside all the Weasleys. Ginny and Blaise set the whole school aflame with indignation through Madame Pomprey and staffers who question the orthodoxy.
Pivotal. Fresh. Ripe for exploration.
If you were tired of the story or said what you already wanted/needed to say, COOL BEANS. If not, revisit this because I can't believe that them fighting the good fight is all they would do in face of Hermione possibly not receiving a finishing degree from Hogwarts or not being able to go into her future career as healer at St. Mungo.

I agree! You must absolutely write a sequel!!! I LOVED this story! trust me its hard to get me to love a story...I LOVE EVIL ALBUS!! YES! The worst thing a person can do is make people think what they are doing is for love and not their own personal advantages.
