I know a victim of rape. A close friend of mine was date raped. Because she was afraid of what her family would say, I was the only one she told. I let her know my feelings but had to respect hers. So for the next three years, we were forced to attend classes with a very EVIL young man. She never told another soul until last year when she got counseling. He is in a correctional facility now for rape of a 13 year old girl. I never told my friend this. If she found out, it was from someone else. You are right about the victim keeping quiet. They would rather no one know than to confront their attacker and feel less in the eyes of others. It also made her feel stronger to be around him somewhat. Something like HA! Do what you want to me but I am still strong enough to make it and I am stronger thou. ou.
Dont let other people\'s flames get you down. You say you know first hand and that is what is important. Write what you know. If these halfwits had an ounce of sense, they would realize that real life is not TV with crusading women out to save the world. Some of us need to save ourselves first. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Read through you story...It has promise but needs to be a bit more further developed (slow down a little).
