That was tragically beautiful! I am so glad he reconciled with that poor girl before she returned to her fate. They both needed it. It also helped him accept reality and face his fears. I hate that he was so ready to Romeo and Juliet it, but it was lovely that he felt their love so deeply. This story has been fantastic. Thank you!! Looking forward to the end, happy as it will be. :-D lol HG4eva

Mmmmmm, tasty tasty cliffy.

I loved the raw emotion of this chapter. Between the goodbye and the sex and the bathtub love and the moment of truth you've shown us the best of Severus; he's come so far since the start of the story.

I also loved the building climax throughout the chapter (non-sexual climax.) (Although, I loved the orgasms too.) Everything is swirling to a pinnacle of resolution.

Fav bits:

unprecedented display of affection.--Excellent description.

He looks relieved . . . and contrite . . . and . . . boyishly sexy.--Boyishly sexy is so perfect here.

Hermione’s head lolls to the side like a marionette with her strings cut--Wonderful visual.

she feels the velvety warmth of his shaft skim her inner thigh--Unh! Hells yeah!

pulling her into his hungry lips as his hips flex backwards before plunging into her again.--Fuuuuuuck, yes!

His cry is both mournful and longing as he drives into her--I can totally hear this. Perfect.

risotto-lanche--Hahahaha! You wouldn't have any real-world experience with this, would you? :)

They are all part of him . . . the him that is hers. --The him that is hers. Yeeeeees! Love this.

I'm dying to know what happens next. (Oh, and I loved the digital balloons and confetti. I won't even need a vacuum to get it out of the carpet. Handy :))

Well congratulations to me for thinking I posted this the other day when really it was just sitting in my notes gathering technological dust. (Brilliant, I know.)

Must Severus be so infernally stubborn? The denial is strong with this one.

I love how everything's coming together, and Minerva's background info was great. The integration of the letter with everything that has happened puts things in a new light. I wonder how things would have progressed without the letter's influence.

"I haven’t.” Hermione looks at him intently, with a fierce devotion that she feels to her core. “I have put my trust in you.”--Gah! Right in the Snapey feels.

Is Severus taking the potion for diagnostic testing? He'd better hurry up and see the light so Hermione can un-Voldify her fetus. The countdown clock could start ticking at any moment.

(Also, I believe this is the 100th review. I expect a shower of balloons and confetti when I hit "post review.")

He actually took that MUCH better than I thought he would. I can't imagine how torn he must be, but I hope he doesn't do anything stupid. I also wonder what will happen to that little girl if they are successful. Will she just cease to be? :-( I ache for that poor little girl. I also wonder if Hermione is going to reconnect with her friends now that they have a better idea of what's happening. Thanks again! HG4eva

I finally finished with my project yesterday, so I'll  have  few free days before the next one starts. And, even if I planned to finish my story in that time frame, now I wonder if I'll manage - long delayed spring cleaning is staring at me, more so because we decided to buy dishwasher, which demands rearranging of entire kitchen area :/ At least I'll have proper time to deal with everything instead pushing it under the rug. But on a plus side, you can finally expect picture from Japan to start appearing on my FB page ;)

he’d already said about as much to her earlier but not as explicitly. He’d also admitted internally that life would be pointless without her. / only two chapters to go after this one - I know, but somehow I did expect for this story to go on a bit longer, maybe  that's why I said it :D

Likes/Comments:

ensconced within the protective curve of his body - I love this bit, so simple and endearing

He is standing beside the bed, hands on hips, muscles clenched in consternation. - well his reaction was to be expected as she, all of us, did

Part with Minerva was a surprise, though it shouldn't be when I think  about it. And, It might be that this story and I are not on the same wavelength (maybe because of everything that was happening around me) so I  can properly respond only to sex parts. In  that light, I'll refrain from further guessing and just wait to see with what you'll come up next ;D

In any case, I'm glad that Minerva stayed the "motherly type" , just  the way  I see her :)

It’ll consume all three souls . . . Voldemort, the baby and . . . yours. This will kill all three of you. / A simple termination potion would suffice. - Yeah, eternal friction in similar situations. He would rather keep her safe and she is willing to risk her own life to save the baby.

I can't wait for the next chapter :*
Take care and do not overwork yourself <3

Sorry for the difficulties you have gone through recently. I really hope things are continuing to improve for you xxooxx - Thank you, sometimes thing happen beyond our ability to influence them, I am much better, writing helps.

And so she can’t tell him. Not now. Not yet. - awwww, don't do that!

He’s clean. Shaved. Showered . . . He is also angry. - he made a decision? Of course he did, angry or not.

He looks so distrustful - well, she didn't give him much material to trust her

I . . . need you. - the damage is already done, least they can do is to use the situation, before everything blows up again

Perhaps that question had also been there, whipping around with the others in his self-made storm of betrayal. - oh I'm sure it was!

She adores the feel of it, the masculine taper to his torso, the lustrous contours—ridges of muscle radiating damp heat through the fabric of his expensive shirt. - such delicious picture, yum

She feels his restraint, the bold strength held in check - huh, is it hot in here or what?

stand-offish sourpuss - what a great description! It made me giggle

He needs to know. She wants to tell him. - ok nice tumble in the sheets and long talk after is quite acceptable :D

Sex scene is spot on - hot, and tender - perfect! No point in c/p all of it ;)

“I . . . love you.”/The words spill from his lips as he surges into her and she cries out in response - this was bit early in to the story, not that we didn't know, I just didn't expect him to say it at that point

Sophia has changed it, already. - yeah, well past chapter did lead to butterfly effect all along. I do hope it will still be happy end.

Waiting to see what happens next, but not impatiently - just waiting.
Take care of yourself :*

Yeeeeees! I loved this. Hermione's inner turmoil blended with the bonding of their bodies was superb. I love how the sex was kind of like a conversation between them, revealing how they really felt without saying much. But it was also sort of an unspoken pact--them coming together to fight what's to come. They both know their passion might be coerced by the devil within, but they still chose unity over solitude. I think that says something about both of them. I also loved how Hermione took the lead this time (making her the one to begin the healing). The sex was hot (I especially liked "As she rides him, she curls her hands under his member to lever it upwards, pressing his solid flesh more forcefully between her labia. It draws him upward, his back arching a little from the bed as a sigh slips past his deliciously parted lips."). Mmmmmmmm. Tasty. :)

Fav bits--

Abstruse--Mmmm, word notebook.

"this surly, stand-offish sourpuss"--I love this. Sourpuss is so perfect.

"But the question is cut short as she mounts him."-- I particularly like the word mount. I must remember to use it more often.

"Pinioned"--Another for the word notebook.

"His expressive eyebrow flexes upward, mirroring the intrigue in the sexy hitch of his mouth."--I love the mental image of this.

"Inexorable"--My word notebook runneth over.

I'm interested to see how Snape reacts when she reveals Sophia's true identity. I'm guessing he's going to be pretty upset that she waited so long to tell him (in addition to the obvious shock of Sophie's purpose for being there).

Chapter 27

I hope RL calms down. I hope everything is well and you’re just super busy. Kids, job, house, all that stuff takes so much time. Leisure time is a virtue. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself, too.

While the waits have been killing me, I'll take 7-10 days over a month any day of the week. You must take care of you, too. I have two WIPs I’m reading whose authors haven't updated since March. MARCH. But neither of them respond to reviews or PMs, either. So. They may have just died or something and here I'm cursing them for not updating their fan fiction. ;o)

All though, I think FF.N is on the fritz a bit, too. I should probably actually look at the stories, because I’ve had a few ppl PM me that they’re not getting email notifications when I update, and I didn’t get one for yours or OO’s update earlier this week. I was scrolling here, checking for updates when I came across it.

I look forward to your reviews, and will watch for them. I've said it before, I'll say it again, I'm honored you feel my fic worth the read. I'm thrilled with the amped up responses I've been getting. I'm up to about 50 reviews between here and FF.N. It seems that’s pretty good for a first fic with zero followers to begin with. It certainly makes me more eager to write, so I've been getting chapters out 1-2x per week. :o)

On to this chapter.

Such great word choices that I'll have to file away for later use. Abstruse, inexorable, pinioned, susurrated. My Thesaurus is always open these days. LOL

I liked the symbolism of their union in this chapter. Their coming together to fight a battle with love. I love Hermione took charge and love how Severus responded. I’m confused as to why another reviewer said something about Severus saying “I love you” seemed too soon, because he’s said it before – even if it wasn’t exactly the words. So, I think it worked great.

I’m very excited to see how Snape handles being a Grandfather. Grandpa Severus. Snort. That’s absolutely hilarious. I love this story.

I am really glad he was approachable, giving, accepting, and gave in to her. I also LOVED that he said it out loud first. I hope she tells him what is happening, since he deserves to know. I wonder if she can stop thinking and worrying for even a second. All that stress can't possibly be good for the baby-that-won't-be-Voldy. :-) And, I look forward to more soon! Thanks! HG4eva
