Your story is very good so far. I like dracken stories and I'll be waiting for the next chapter.

So glad that you have worked things out with Starlight! I love TROTD and follow it faithfully. Because of that I love when there are people brave enough to try their hand at a story in that world. So far it looks to be an excellent story with enough side twists that it doesn't step on any toes. Can't wait to see where it goes from here. So good luck!

Aside from the grammatical errors I would say it's an extraordinary fanfics in the making. Get someone to proofread or use spellcheck before each chapter and it'll be platinum. Seriously I'm already enjoying it that much.

Why does everyone keep saying starlightmassacres story? The original story belonged to BeautifulKaos and it was first adopted by starlightmassacre and then other fanfic authors. Starlightmassacre did do a good job with it though.

Couldnt really read this as your writing style really isnt my thing its not bad just. But I would like to point out you need to check your math on the heatcycle part sure 45days is form start to start of actual heat but the heat would include the time spent in heat which was about 2 weeks more form memory putting it at almost 60days and thus two months there abouts. Oops?

I emjoyed the first chapter , it is definitely not a copy of TRotD . You do know StarLightMassacre did not invent drakens right ? They've been a part of fanfiction for years before that story was even started . I remember falling in love with the first few chapters of TRofD & having a little bit of a hissy fit when it was put up for adoption. I don't think that the author could have picked anyone better than Star to adopt the story , heck I don't know if they could have done as great a job themselves .
I do like the tone your story is giving, that Harry is willing and able to stand on his own 2 feet . I'm greatly looking forward to the next chapter!
