dang, I was hoping she'd be dating someone. Would've been fun if she was dating Luna at the time.

Wow! Wow wow wow wow WOW! That was Awesome! I loved the little detail that Hermione hung with Luna and Neville along with Ginny their last year returning to Hogwarts; I always appreciate when they're not overlooked. You have a beautiful blended display of Draco's Slytherin cunning with a delightfully warm and caring nature that while Hints of it may have flickered in canon I always like to see pulled out in fanfictions. Very nice.
I'm very surprised how easily Hermione accepted, but then again I knew it would hinge on how Draco presented it and he did that WONDERFULLY, especially with all his preparation. Slytherin nature's working better for him now than when he was being a prat, I'd say.
That little bit about testing compatibility was unexpected, but made sense and was delightfully sweet.

I look forward to seeing just how and in what ways Draco is invested in his fascination.

Interesting start. I look forward to reading how Draco lays out his offer... and Hermione's reaction to it. I wonder if she will yell right away or if her maturity will hold it off. Suppose it will be greatly influenced by How Draco words his proposal. If he's Slytherin enough... perhaps he'll avoid another slap.
