I've read up till the 4th chapter now and while I enjoy several things in your writing there are 1 or 2 things that were a tad unrealistic. I like that you write so fluidly and that your grammar is so good. Your story is well written and believable. However, the first thing I found hard to believe that Harry is okay with hugs. This is a kid that has never recieved a hug in his life, never any human warmth, never any sign that he is loved. I would kind of expect him to completly freak out when he is hugged. I have a friend whos parents never hugged her and she admitted to me that to her a hug has become a thing that she only does with the person she is having sex with because she never associated it with parental love. I had to always hand squeeze her to say goodbye instead of hug because she simply couldn't deal with people she didn't know that well hugging her. Another thing was that he apparently learnt full coversations in french in 2 months! Along with other lessons of course. There is just no way you can learn a conversations worth of french in 2 months. Like more then "the weather is bad""the croissant with jam please" I studied french at university for a year and I could hold a very limited conversation. No way can you hold a full conversation after 2 months. I'm also not sure how I feel about the "french stuff is better then everything"trope that you are using. I would have been alot more impressed if they had visited a tiny hidden market place in teh East of Belgravia for only the wealthiest and darkest of patrons or even a Morrocan traveling merchant. French stuff is cool and all but from 15 years of fanfiction reading I can tell you that Harry goes to France to get cool stuff is used ALOT. I guess cos so many people love french. I was also wondering why Harry was so angry with Hermione. She was bossy yes but doesn't he know how to use his talents to turn a smart girls talents to his own interests regardless of her house? He could totally use her in teh future for his dark lord plans. I know he is now against muggles but doesn't he know that his own mum was one? and that by judging people by blood he is just doing teh same thing that teh Dursleys were doing to him? Just a though :P Keep up the good work!

Marvelous update! Maybe that will teach Blaise not to listen to Harry's warnings about his dancing again? At least your Harry was too smart to risk his life rescuing Hermionie from the troll. Can't wait for more!!

Harry's mood is slightly mercurial these days, but it seems Neville at least got something out of it.

Really well done story so far. I like where this is going. A little confused about the sudden change in Harry's personality. Maybe you could shed some light on that?

Great start, can't wait to read more. There's just one small niggle for me: Charles Longbottom. Given his age (already left Hogwarts, so he's at least 18), he'd work better as Frank's brother than his son. A scandal involving a 15 year-old witch (as Alice would have to be, to have a son seven years older than Neville) getting pregnant from the scion of a noble family like the Longbottoms wouldn't be secret, especially among other purebloods.

What an interesting shopping spree.
Nice choice with the animals and an impressive combination of wand ingredients. Also that little premonition was a tad bit foreboding, looking forward to how it is really going to play out.
