Maybe Lucius is feeling that Draco is more grown up and independent than he thought. He might be changing his view of Harry as well as Harry & Draco's relationship. A relationship that still seems to be evolving. Harry doesn't seem as close to Ron & Hermione as he was. An natural effect of living with and being part of another family's life I'm sure.

Draco seems have figured out how to get through to Harry now. Is Harry truly becoming more caring (I hate the word fond) of Harry or just passing time and acting to just placate the Malfoys?

If I were Harry I'd want revenge also. I think I would have just moved to another wizarding town in another country and told everyone to go hang. I would think people would read how he's treated and maybe feel guilty after everything that Harry did for them including this slavery thing that he didn't need to do.
