Harry is being a pain. I mean, there was progress 2 chapters ago, and a sort of acceptance. The minute he stepped in friendly territory and remembered that he had allies, the kind Snape and Malfoy would never be, he just dropped his tolerance act around them and went right back to being a jerk again. He didn't even see how Ron and Hermione were accepting the progress of his views on the bond, and the closeness he developped with his bondmates. He just reverted.
Harry is a pain to read about. He's a source of great frustration while I read because I can't see real progress without pretence in his character. He's in an infinite loop of self-pity-avoidment and Draco seems to have tried everything he could to make things better. Yet, Harry still believes the only true victim is himself, while rejecting the idea entirely. He still believes his bondmates are truly responsible for what they did and holds them accountable when he knows the ritual had been compelling them to do things they never would have imagined doing in a million years.
He's a walking contradiction, a pain in the ass and he's gotta change his tune and soon. I feel like I'm reading the same chapter over and over again. It is not an enjoyable read.

I have to say I'm with Draco in this. I am getting sick of Harry throwing blame, blame, blame everywhere but at himself. He wanted to live and he wanted to complete his Auror training and he was the one that devised the manufacturing of the bond and yet it is everyone else's fault what happened to him and what the end result turned out to be. I never thought I see a story where Draco is turning out to be the sensible one, but wow, is he ever in this one. Towards the end of your chapter when Harry was sniping and sneering I wanted to just yell 'shut up and deal with it, already!' at him, for he is the architect of this whole edifice that he hates so much. It was that, or die, and he made his choice to live. Rape isn't easy, and it isn't something you forgive or forget in a hurry, but he made them do that to him in order to survive and Harry needs to suck that up and deal with it, and grow up!

Another really strong chapter. I like how Draco and Severus were trying to be the reasonable ones in this, even if the resentment still did flow between them. Severus is right about Hermione and Ron, of course, Harry should tell them. His trying to protect them in this manner has never worked before, and the other two parts of the Golden trio do have a way of working it all out anyways.
Thanks for updating. I was very impressed by your depictions of just how the travelling part of the bond worked and by how you're getting the bond to change and mature between the three men.

I didn't realize until this chapter that the roads were actual roads to actual places. I thought it was to places in their head. Nice surprise. These three still have a long way to go before they're anywhere near working well together... Looking forward to it.

Okay, explain it to me...what is the purpose of the 'road' exactly?

Holy moley! This is a huge step for Snape, for he's a very private man, so for him to let someone else into his mind is a very huge show of trust for him. I'm in awe of his ability to take this on and do this for the betterment of all of them. I only hope that Harry understands all of that, and takes it for the sign of a willingness to succeed that it is. This, at least, is a good thing, for Harry learning to start to trust his bondmates is a necessary step for them to all make it work. Good for Severus! And good for Draco, too, for being such a diplomatic intermediary. I'm glad to see them all acting a bit more like mature wizards now.

about #18..
As I was reading towards the end, I couldn't help but think of them as equivalent to a triangle.
Though Harry has control of the bond, I see Draco at point & Harry and Severus at the base of the
triangle. I guess Draco would be like an conduit? While the others whose powers are stronger would
channel their powers thru Draco at certain given times.
Also, if I were to compare them to elements & the earth, Harry would be the ocean, Severus would be wind and
Draco would be the result of the two...a typhoon. Okay, moving on...
Anyway, it would be like you to break the peace. :-)
