Ch. 13 addendum

I forgot that Snape isn't teaching at Hogwarts anymore, so has never met Jamie. And also it should have been flashbacks, not flashbrcks. Stupid Kindle auto-correct....

Ch. 13

A very interesting chapter! James and Lily have more problems on their hands than just Harry, it seems. Jamie is likely to get himself into big trouble if he doesn't start keeping his mouth shut. Of course, that may be the only way he'll learn his lesson. Too bad James has already poisoned his mind against Draco and probably Severus too. It would be interesting to know Snape's thoughts about him.

And poor Harry! I'm assuming that the nightmares are coming from Voldemort rather than flashbrcks. Hope he decides to tell someone about them soon.

Edited to add: Wow! I went back and read all the reviews, and I can't remember any of your other stories generating such controversy. This story is obviously making your readers think; you should feel good about that.

I think that Lilly might be beginning to understand, but James is incredibly stubborn. He doesn't really think that they did anything wrong. Hell, even if they HAD made sure that Harry was safely taken in by Petunia (maybe by, I don't know, simply sticking around and watching from nearby, using the disillusionment spell, at the very least), it still would have been abandonment. They have made it quite clear (in my mind) that they were more concerned with saving their own skins and their unborn child's than they were about Harry's. They have no reasonable excuse for what they did, no matter what they are trying to claim, as they could have easily taken him with them. Harry has every reason to hate them for leaving him behind so callously. He is well rid of them!

Christopher you are way wrong. Harry is not a spoiled brat and the only one acting outrageously is James Potter who is acting like a spoiled brat. For one Lily admits that Petunia would have refused to care for Harry if they had tried to give him to her. That proves she knew they would not care for him and probably would not treat him right. I have a friend who went through a chunk of what Harry did at the hands of her father and a few of his friends and certain family members to this day proclaim they didn't know and that she should just get over it. She has no use for them and would spit in their faces. The damage is still there decades later. As someone who has worked in psych for over 30 years I have seen too damned much of this shit and people who tell victims to get over themselves, that they are whiny drama queens show an appalling lack of understanding reality or having any compassion. Personally I find them just as bad as the abusers themselves. This story is underlining the psychological reactions to such severe abuse quite accurately

I love your story, and can clearly see that indeed Dumbledore, James and Lily should be held responsible. Leaving a baby on a doorstep just spells heaps of trouble and a lot of neglectful actions, child abandonment, but especially exposure and the risk of dying as a baby on that doorstep. And they never bothered to make sure that the Dursleys would actually open the door and look down and take baby Harry in.

Also there's something in what Albus said: "...he would have plenty to level out whatever the Dursleys may have done." Doesn't that sound a little suspicious? Possibly and knowingly leaving Harry in an environment to be neglected and abused, by people that clearly hates magic. No matter if Harry was simply a child and blood related.

In the books Harry was emotionally and psychologically abused; locking a child in a cupboard for several days apart definitely constitutes abuse. Verbal browbeaten and denied food; which are a forms of abuse and should have resulted in legal actions against the Dursleys. Whom should have been arrested.

Loving this story and hope another chapter will be soon!!!

Oh wow, I can almost see what's coming. I can see Dumbledore trying to talk to Harry and getting his nose broken again. Or an attempt at kidnapping him to "make him see sense". This is all going to be about the prophecy again and the horcrux in his scar. Anyway you see it, it is going to end badly. I'm rooting for Harry on this one though. Keep up the great work, honestly when do you sleep or eat when you are constantly updating and starting new stories? You are amazing and your little Rogue too!
