Excellent story, but it was so disappointing to realize there was no chapter 2 after such a cliff-hanger ending! I would read more in this story - what happens next?! You've set them both up as strong, fascinating opponents - I hope you'll consider writing more someday.

A great read, especially as one character does not just fall under the spell of another like so many fics do, they both stay true to their core personalities yet are not rigid and static. they are able to experience new things and people, all while remaining true to themselves. i can see a sequel wherein the two of them retire for lack of a better word into the realm of experimental academics, with tom trying to regain power and control over others and hermione trying to control their research to apply to all in a helpful manner.
