OK... LOL
I don't know where YOU are, but it's after 3am here and I wasn't about to go to sleep before I read your update!
O. M. G!
I am absolutely loving this story more each day!
The little clues and insights into his head are brilliant...
And I can't WAIT to see what happens with the D2 when Weasely repairs it and "looks into the notes in the ledger"...
That should be an interesting "re-test" LOL
Keep up the good work and can't wait for the next update!

Where to start? I love Molly so much. She didn't want to push it, but had a room all set up for Hermione. She's like my grandma, what a darling!
And poor, lonely George! I want to hug him and set him up on a date. Just the thought of him running that shop all alone, of spending day and night doing nothing but working, then seeing other people enjoy what he doesn't get to. I hope this line sells well so he can hire some more people and take a little time for himself.
I actually like the way Severus is trying to keep things distant, sort of. It's not that I'm not rooting for them, it's just that he has the wisdom to know that the situation is ripe to produce artificial emotion and is trying to keep illusions at bay. He's dealing with a much younger woman who doesn't have nearly the experience he does and I can see him not wanting to waste time on things that aren't real or won't last to avoid needless pain. That he might be actually attracted to her or that they might develop real feelings over time is something I don't expect him to recognize immediately, so I do have more sympathy for his emotional walls. Too bad they are hurting Hermione's feelings, though. I suppose he feels it would be better to nip it in the bud now than to let them go on and get hurt later. He really does seem to look out for her well-being in this, and I love him a little for that. He always checks to see if she's okay, he tries to save her dignity, he hinted at the 'missing breath' and let her get credit for it when he could have just brought it up himself. There is a lot to like about him, even as acerbic as he is.
And he kissed her back. Good for him!!! She really likes it, I think he could use that to get his way if he wasn't being noble. ;D You know, he has always had no trouble performing for the testing, but he seems to be enjoying himself much more lately, so I wonder if that is an indicator of his attraction to her. Also, the fact that he was adamant that no apology was necessary and that HE wasn't sorry... lol She just doesn't get what that might mean, does she. :D
The bed, the couch, the room!!! (I know, not a full sentence, but you KNOW what I'm laughing about) He didn't get a good gander at it, but I bet he will have bed-envy soon! Plus it's memory foam, he probably would get a decent night's sleep on that thing, unlike the cramped up little cot he's on now! I wonder if he will ever give her the key or put her in the wards or something. It's just that last step before acknowledging that she's welcome and a part of his home, even for a little bit. Oh, Severus!

Okay, I think I finally get it!!! He is scared! Pure and simple. He's petrified to lose control and let himself feel... well anything. I am guessing one too many revels and being forced to perform has left him scared shitless at actually feeling something during sex. As he gave up control, but submitted and was aroused by it, it was almost like he was resigned to it. But, I think he is appalled at his own behavior in enjoying it. If I am right, that's very sad. I still think he needs to stop being such a shit to her, but at least that would make him make more sense. Thank you. This is a fascinating story!! HG4eva

Okay, I just read the last two chapters and WOW! I mean, this story has kept me reading because it is interesting, inventive, and HOT!!!!! I mean that last chapter had me fanning myself. I enjoy your characterization of Snape. He is extra mysterious here. And extra aloof. And maybe these are the reasons that Hermione is so intent on digging into his personal life. I also could very well see him being bisexual. That does not seem too out there. Especially considering that he worked for a dark lord. And now that she is living with him this should get even more interesting and intense. I cannot wait for more!!!!!!!
