This story makes me feel as unbalanced as Hermione, so you must be doing
a superb job! Nigel is a whiny brat, more so than Hermione. I do want to
shake Severus because of how his actions can be so misleading. I truly don't
get that man...at least the way you are writing him. ;)

I have been following this story for over a year and I am completely in love with this story and your characters. The manipulation from Snape and the emotional fraughtness from Hermione are exactly what I'd expect post-war. I get excited every time there's an update and can't wait for more! I don't know how you do it. I am on a roller coaster of emotion. One minute I am angry, than laughing out loud, the stricken with an ache in my chest that must be angst.
I understand that they are both a mess, but I am startled to admit that I have taken a side. I hope she sticks to her guns. No sexual interaction, but those at work. She has tried to hash it out, but that last comment of his stung. And he is the most honest in the morning, as she noted. There is only so much she should take, even if it is Severus Snape. It can't be her always looking to him. He needs to get his own ducks in a row and figure out what he wants.
Kudos :) I haven't got this flustered and emotional in a peice of fanfiction in a long while. You write both of these flawed characters so beautifully. So perfectly, that I have an urge to risk life and limb and shake Severus Snape by.mhis shoulders and say, "God dammit man! You are alive, you could be dead. There are authors that do that to you. Get your shit together. Hermoine is not the only one who is acting childish! Don't fuck this up!"

First off, I like the twist of a grungy Charlie. Great job!
I agree this was a much needed chapter for Hermione and Severus.Hermione being with Charlie didn't bother me as much as the event with Nigel in the last chapter. I guess that's because Severus asked for it so he got what was coming. Hermione was blindsided. I think Severus realized that Hermione isn't going to play his games much longer. She opened his eyes by not fighting back before the Charlie event and he admits to expecting her to. Almost wanting her to. I thought he was on the right track when Nigel made an appearance that morning because he didn't want Hermione to leave but then he screwed that up and had the nerve to "reprimand" Hermione as she was leaving. I did have a different feel about Nigel this time though. I thought I was going to be a little touchy about him because of chapter 15 but I felt this time that perhaps there is a different kind of relationship between them then what I see on the surface. Yea Nigel seemed upset but when severus told him he wasn't his boyfriend he just agreed. Like he knew it already and wasn't really worried about it. I just think he likes to get Hermione riled up. Good for Hermione though...I hope she sticks to the "keeping it professional" scheme for a little while. Maybe Severus will see a difference in her behavior towards him. I can feel her aggravation and heart aching from supposedly unrequited love. Can't wait for the next chapter. Your writing is impeccable!
