I love your take on Slughorn in this chapter. I'm not usually a fan of him myself, but it was nice to envision this... Thoughtful side of him. It was really well done and very moving. Severus gaining respect for him only amplified that.
I like the idea of Severus being a light for Lucius.
Slughorn's take on the inbreeding issue is one of my favorites I've ever read.
